If you check back in our archives over the last couple of months, you’ll notice a particular aversion towards the OG grey-dient look for the Nike Air Max 95. In the absence of that iconic set up there have been a gang of other colorways vying for your attention, some of them putting a darker twist on the look, and some opting for a more solid blocking overall. The anthracite and red version shown here flips the grey-dient set up on its head, letting the sneaker get darker from the ground up. Nike Toki + All Court Mid – Size? Exclusives

British sneaker specialists Size? have racked up quite a few collaborative releases in recent months, and just like the majority of those exclusives, these go for a casual approach with old school sport inspiration. The Size? Nike Sportswear capsule brings us four new Nike Tokis along with two All Court Mids, all crafted in premium leathers and brushed suede, and all occupying the cool part of the color wheel where you’ll find blue, grey and white chillin’ in perfect harmony. Especially with the tonal blue background, this is one of the frostiest sets we’ve seen without overt winter theming, and it looks like we’ll be seeing the 500 pair runs of each design releasing gradually over the next few months. Nike V-Series VNTG Pack – Size? Exclusive

Nike Sportswear brought back the mid-’80s-born V-Series running trio early last year, but after a strong start in the spring season, we were left with only a few releases during the second half of the year. We haven’t seen enough of what’s in store for late 2012 to know whether that pattern will fully repeat itself, but here’s a trio of new releases that gives this group a strong push to get things started right. This Size x Nike Air Vengeance, Air Venture and Air Vortex set comes in a collection of colors and materials that have a strong vintage appeal even before you notice the pre-yellowed midsoles. Usually when Dutch boutique Patta teams up with your favorite footwear brand for a collaborative sneaker, the results aren’t exactly easy to get your hands on. Their latest drop, an Amsterdam-inspired colorway of the Asics Gel Saga will be especially elusive for our stateside readers, as it’s looking like a Euro-only drop up to this point. Following the recent release in their flagship store, these will be finding their way to other top notch retailers across the continent pretty soon. Patta x Asics Gel Saga Release Recap

While US sneakerheads were going stark raving mad over the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’ release this past week, the Euro scene shifted its attention to Amsterdam where the boutique that topped many best-of 2010 lists issued their latest collaboration with a brand whose recent resurgence they can be seen to have sparked a couple years back. The Patta x Asics Gel Saga release represented the rise of both of these brands’ status to cult heroes within certain corners of the sneaker scene, with a large yet peaceful queue starting some two days before the December 22nd drop and building up to an instant sellout that also included some dual-branded winter gloves for the lucky ones in attendance. Patta x Asics Gel Saga – Release Date

When you mention the phrase “Patta Air Max 1″, chances are, sneakerheads will see images of the Parra-designed number one release from the Sneaker News Top 30 of 2010. But don’t forget that the Dutch boutique started its onslaught of Nike Air Max 1 collaborations before the turn of the year back in ’09 by coming up with five different colorways in honor of its half-decade anniversary. This December marks lucky number seven, and again Patta has something ready just in time for Christmas, only this time the store is arguably more famous than the shoe instead of the other way around. The Patta x Asics Gel Saga brings a big spotlight to this classic runner just after the OG colorups hit this summer, and just before a new run is set to expand the Onitsuka Tiger’s retro running offerings into the next year. Their 2007 Gel Lyte IIIs can be seen in retrospect as critical to reviving that now well-established cult favorite, but ’09′s Gel Lytespeed bringback hasn’t had the same impact on that model’s frequency and availability; how important will this Patta collaboration prove to the Gel Saga? Size? x adidas Originals ‘Adi’s Archive’ Collection

It was just about seven years ago that the release of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou had hipsters from all around trying to get their hands on the classic Rom lowtop depicted as part of the seafaring crew’s uniform. Just goes to show how far adidas Originals has come recently when it comes to the breadth of their classic lineup, and though the Rom remains in the Three Stripes vaults for now, they’re bringing back some even more obscure models to compliment a crisp white and green perforated Rod Laver. Models like the adidas Originals Malmo, Orion and Kopenhagen are central to continuing the Size?-exclusive ‘Adi’s Archive’ collection into 2012, and you can see a sampling of what’s in store for next year after the jump below.
