Flax on flax on flax. The Nike Sportswear “Flax” Collection drops this Saturday, November 1st, and perhaps the most coveted of the Timberland inspired aesthetics is the Nike Air Force 1 Mid. Sure, it isn’t the first time an Air Force 1 has mimicked a boot, but there’s something to be said about the shoe returning to the classic gum outsole while that clean monochromatic Flax hue arrives throughout the upper. As always, we have more photos of this upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Flax” for you after the break and know that you can secure your size this weekend from select spots like Sneaker Politics.

nike lebron 12 nsrl dissected 01 Nike LeBron 12 NSRL Dissected

It is the spookiest of seasons, so one is more inclined to not cover their eyes at gruesome sights this time of year. So while yes, technically this grim depiction of the innards of the Nike LeBron 12 is enough to make a LeBron fan’s stomach summersault, the dissection of his next signature sneaker does serve as a nice preview of how the different details all come together to make a functioning model for one of the world’s greatest athletes. Utilizing the LeBron 12 “NSRL”, we see how the flywire is structured below the surface, how the mold of that Hexagonal Zoom Air unit is placed into the outsole and much more. Stick around after the click to view this particular LeBron 12‘s misfortune and let us know if you plan on grabbing a pair and treating them a little nicer in the comments section.

Pharrell Williams is everywhere this year – atop the Billboard charts, all over your television screens, and inside your sneaker stores. His knack for design has given us plenty to work with thanks to teaming up with adidas Originals. After a set of premium leather and monochromatic Stan Smiths, the Grammy-winning producer is back again with three tennis ball inspired adidas Originals Stan Smith pairs. Featuring a felt construction to mimic the ball, the ubiquitous design features a clean white midsole to contrast so base colors like orange and lime green can stand out. There’s also a muted pair in eggshell just incase the shrill attention-grabbing hues aren’t your thing. What do you think? We have a better look at the latest Pharrell x adidas Originals collaborative effort after the break so stick around and let us know which pair you’re feeling in the comments section.

NINEATNINE horror movies Sneaker News NINE@NINE: Iconic Horror Movie Posters on NIKEiD

Halloween is a few days away, and with Nike stepping up with their in-house offerings quite nicely (the Air Max 90, Air Max 95, and SB Dunk Mid), it’s time for Sneaker News to chip in with a few designs of our own. Instead of drawing inspiration from the classic spooky costumes or props, we went a little deeper into the realm of the horror films. All nine films we picked have had momentous impacts on the industry of film and on pop-culture, so we did our best to give these flicks their necessary props.

Bronzed Air Jordans by Matt Senna

air jordan bronze art 5 Bronzed Air Jordans by Matt Senna

We’ve plenty of variations of sneaker art, mostly arriving before our eyes in the form of paintings (or customs) and sculptures. Artist Matt Senna brings to light a relatively foregone method of gilding as he brings this metal on the outermost layer of some Air Jordans (unDS, it seems). Senna’s reasoning behind this process? To provide two contrasting views on Jordans – they’re either an homage to the past by freezing them in time, or a statement that exposes the unnecessarily idyllic nature of these sneakers. Either way, these bronzed Jordans would make a dope piece of furniture around the right house. Check out some extra photos of Matt’s work below and peep some more of his thoughts in this interview with The Hundreds.
