In looking at a white and Varsity Maize Dunk High recently, we noted that their relationship to the iconic ‘Goldenrod’ getup is similar to the progression seen from Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG collaborations with Nike over the years. What started as strictly black and yellow has evolved with whites, greys and the recent addition of Radio Shack reds and even a hint of green every now and again. This new Nike Free Run+ 2 adds blue to that list, keeping the LAF vibe going thanks tot the crisp white base layer and its interplay with the familiar V.Maize, even despite the preponderance of royal.
The green and yellow colorway is always a popular run for Nike runners, a combo that makes sense given their heritage at the University of Oregon. The latest that comes with the ducked out look is the Nike Huarache Free 2012, a hybridized runner that takes the neoprene beauty of the OG Huarache silhouette and fits it up with the Nike Free sole. This is one of those hybrids that just makes sense, a fitting ‘what if’ moment where a couple of Nike’s best innovations are allowed to cross-pollinate. Follow us after the jump for the full look at this court green/tour yellow pair, and hit up Finishline to grab yours now as sizes are going fast.

When it’s all said and done, does anything top the simple two tone ‘BTTYS’ look for a Dunk high? We’ve seen a multitude of variations on the Dunks throughout the years but there is something to be said for the bare bones look. Anyway, we’ll let you duke that one out in the comments, but if you’re a fan of the simple combo and you have two X chromosomes then this one is for you. The lipstick red on the uppers pops up with a bit of a tumbled textured on the leather, contrasting to the smooth grey construction on the rest of the sneaker.
These days Kobe makes a significant effort to let it be known that he’s a Nike company man, but we all remember his start in the footwear world with the Three Stripes. This year’s return of his second signature shoe with adidas, the Crazy 8 apparently had our readers reminiscing, as the 1998 NBA All-Star Game edition locked down the title of Best Adidas Release in our readers choice poll. Since you guys are checking for them, here’s a look at a new navy and gold colorway that has a bit of a Denver Nuggets feel to it. Hit the jump for a more detailed look and let us know if the adidas Crazy 8 reissue is stealing any thunder away from Kobe’s latest Swoosh product.
Nike has been tuning up the WMNS releases lately with a bit of graphic flair. First it was the metallic spiral print that showed up on both Dunks and Air Force 1′s alike, and now the Uptowns are again getting some special treatment. Here the back end features a section that comes off looking like floral camo, with a wavy grid in the namesake ‘siren red’ laying over the top. That burning shade shows up again on the outsole and the ‘Nike Air’ branding throughout, giving this sneaker quite a bit of pop.
