The subject of a recent ‘On the Fence’ feature, the Air Jordan 10 ‘Stealth’ has exceeded expectations during the past few months that’ve been more filled with huge releases than many entire years gone by. Maybe it’s because they hit on this season’s key palette, or maybe the desire for Air Jordan 10 Retros has been quietly building since the 2005s, but more likely a combination of these reasons that explain how this one has been able to move so swiftly. A Chrome Yellow and black Nike Air Max+ 2012 hit retailers about a month ago without any sort of connection to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, so what are Nike and LIVESTRONG working with as their base palette these days? Lance’s Tour de France-leading yellow is still present on the LAF tongue tag, but just as was the case with the LIVESTRONG Free Run 2 that dropped back in January, the focus on this pair is blue(s). These AM2012s mix Prism and Deep Royal blues for a watery mix that reminds us of Armstrong’s recent triathlon experiences (though fans of the sport will be quick to note that swimming and running are separated by Lance’s specialty). We’ve seen some unexpectedly quick turnarounds this spring as the Air Max 2009 and 2011 have come back including new NIKEiD options, their quick resurrections a direct response to these models’ reputation as kings of comfort. Among the various versions of the Nike Huarache Free 2012 Basketball we’ve shown off in recent months, this stealth colorway just might be the most universally heralded. Injecting some high energy colors on the neoprene liner is standard procedure for the Huarache line, but it’s fairly rare that we get treated to the stealth tone instead of pristine white for the base on the upper. The grey shade breaks nicely into the more attention grabbing innards, in what ends up as another nice release for this hybrid model. With the rate at which Jordan Brand is issuing Air Jordan Retros, many sneakerheads have begun to speculate when we’ll get another round of Air Jordan VIIIs. Their 23rd anniversary year doesn’t come up until the next leap year, which is an awfully long time to wait for one of the best loved and most unique of all the AJ Legacy designs. And although there aren’t any AJVIII releases on the horizon and the Air Jordan 8.0 ’Aqua’ drop has come and gone, there will indeed be another OG-style take on the AJ8.0 arriving at a store near you.
