In 2010, the Sneaker News staff brought the sneaker category to March Madness, starting with an all-out slugfest between Air Jordans, Nike Basketball, Air Force 1s, and SB Dunks – with the Air Jordan XI coming out on top as the best sneaker of all-time. Since then, we’ve continued the Madness with two straight Air Jordan categories, so a felt a change was due. Choosing Foamposites for this year’s tournament seemed like the perfect call, andwith Foams evolving from a regional hit to a nationwide phenomenon, it was time for our loyal readers and Foamposite fanatics to crown the best ever. Thirty-two Foam candidates have been narrowed down to two, and we can say with confidence that no other releases since the original year in 1997 deserve to be in the Championship Round than the two featured here. The voting starts now, so take a look below to see why the Royals and Galaxy each deserve to win this coveted title and be sure to place your vote as we near the conclusion of this successful Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament.

Hey Foamposite heads – are y’all ready for another camouflage-print pair of Foams? The answer seems obvious, but considering the $235 Fighter Jets didn’t exactly have sneakerheads running to the stores (and some stores still have them available at retail), maybe the Green Camo Foamposite Pro won’t clear out of stores as fast as we originally anticipated. However, these have a true military appeal with classic colors on the camo print and the sick Gum outsole being a nice throwback to one of the OGs in 1997, so maybe this Green Camo Pro – arguable a “Camo Foamposite” done right – will be a bigger hit. There’s no confirmation if this version will be the final release, but it’s a safe bet at this point. We’d like to know if the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Camo” will be a big draw, so let us know and stay tuned for more updates.

Remember last year when the Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” magically restocked at Nike’s 21 Mercer spot in NYC well after the release chaos played out? It looks like the same is happening this year with the Nike Foamposite piece from the 2013 All-Star lineup-the Nike Barkley Posite Max “Area 72″. This will be an in-store only affair, so if you’re planning to purchase you’ve gotta hoof it to Soho tomorrow, April 5th. The Final Four round of the Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament is now ready to launch, with four of the #1 seeds ready to battle it out for the title of the greatest Nike Air Foamposite sneaker of all-time. The OG Royals, the ParaNormans, the Coppers, and the Galaxy were all expected to meet at this apex of tournament-style play, but now it truly is anyone’s game as all four have every right to earn the title of best ever. The voting of for the Final Four round is now open so be sure to vote below as we near the conclusion of Foamposite Madness.

The Nike Barkley Posite Max has been an exciting topic on Sneaker News lately, with that “Godzilla/Suns” and “Pure Platinum” colorways stirring up a lot of buzz on what might be the best new Nike Basketball Sportswear model of 2013. Before those hit stores, we’ve got to make way for the Energy/Fire colorway – aka the “76ers”; this clear and present throwback to Sir Charles’ early days in Philly shines through with the royal blue and red, with the glow-in-the-dark outsole providing that extra hit that has made the “Chuck-posite” a huge hit. The Sneaker News March Madness Foamposite Tournament kicked off a few weeks ago and with each passing week, we took a giant leap forward toward naming the greatest Nike Air Foamposite sneaker of all-time. We’ve reached the iconic round of four finalists otherwise known as The Final Four, and quite honestly, the results aren’t too surprising as all four #1 overall seeds in their respective regions had made it this far. There comes a point where one’s sneaker collection begins to take up an unwieldy amount of space. Once you get up to a couple hundred, close space is definitely out of the question, and whole rooms become occupied with footwear relics of years past. Shown here is a new creation from Sole Swap that pushes an LED set up onto the icy outsole, allowing them to shine on a level that no amounts of sea-glow could ever match.
