The Footscape line is spread all over the place these days, releases ranging from a wide variety of Free styles to new Woven Chukka Motion designs that themselves vary in composition. On one extreme, you’ve got the rainbow-weave joints that might just be the craziest lifestyle kicks we’ve seen all year, and on the other end of the spectrum, simple two-toned styles like the grey/white and black/blue joints that hit in late June as well as these new black and yellows in the same pattern. the suede lateral ankles serve to further the Footscape’s famed assymmetry and you can see more of this style that should arrive in the US shortly, after the jump below. ‘Vibrant red camouflage’ is something of an oxymoron and most definitely not the truest example of a ‘concealment’ pattern, but then again, the Footscape was never designed to blend in. Toren Orzeck’s ode to the alternative ’90s was overshadowed at first by Sergio Lozano’s submission to the Mount Rushomre of sneakers, but just as the latter 1995 alum has only grown in popularity since its release, the Footscape line has expanded to fill a niche. It started with Japanese tastemakers and has most recently accompanied some of Nike Sportswear’s most daring work, these new Nike Footscape Frees being no exception. Deep red ‘camo’ isn’t sneaking up on anyone, though you will have the mobility bestowed by Free soles should you need to make a quick getaway. Those crazy ‘Rainbow Pack’ Woven Chukkas have stolen the spotlight of late, but don’t forget that it was Nike Sportswear’s newest groove-soled Footscape variation that had controlled most of 2012. The Nike Footscape Free is back in a couple new styles united in their use of microperforated suede uppers and white Free soles. The kaleidoscopic ‘Rainbow Pack’ designs have gotten a bunch of shine here on Sneaker News of late, but might another new Footscape Woven Chukka grab your attention even more with a decidedly simpler approach? Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Black colorway from the Nike Footscape Woven Chukka Motion “Rainbow Pack”. As promised, here’s a look at the second colorway built in the same fashion – a suede upper paired with the woven panel that ‘tastes the rainbow’. The beige suede offers a nice earthy touch to the spritely mix of ROYGBIV on the upper, but is this too much of a contrast where ‘mix and match’ doesn’t exactly work? These will be a certain must-have for Footscape fanatics who have followed every Footscape-derived release for years, so check out the extra gallery images below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more release information. Not since 2010′s ‘Rainbow Pack’ releases of the Lunar Woven Chukka has there been a multi-colored Woven model as eye-catching as these. Although these don’t carry that multi-chromatic tonal spark like those Lunar Woven Chukkas do, the Nike Footscape Woven Chukka Motion “Rainbow Pack” does maximize usage of rainbow on the woven panel that stretches around the entire shoe. The upper is matched with a black suede for a clean touch, but if you prefer lighter shades, not to worry (a beige colorway will be previewed very shortly). Sneaker News previewed a couple of ‘Rainbow Pack’ colorways back in March, and though they’ve neither arrived at retail nor even come through with release details, there is indeed another black Nike Footscape Woven Chukka Motion about to arrive at select Nike Sportswear dealers. Instead of rainbow ribbons, this pair opts for a single blue streak within a blacked out basket weave, their high contrast appeal enhanced by the white sole that allows one to see the blue ‘pinstripe’ on this look approximating the mid-’90s Orlando Magic jerseys. With the wild ‘Animal Pack’ releases from last year releasing ahead of the curve, these offer a soft landing courtesy of a more traditional palette — but with the Footscape an icon of nontraditional design, what’s your opinion on this relatively subdued build?
