Nike Basketball launched its Inside Access series earlier this month (a concept with which they’d first experimented during the Olympic summer) with a look at some of the pillars of the Swoosh roundball division from the Blazer and Air Force 1 up through the contemporary Lunar Hyperdunk. The follow-up also looks closely at one of the division’s modern foundations, and though the ‘inside’ part focuses on the new Nike KD V, there are plenty of other Kevin Durant-related items within. It is the Nike KD Hoops Elite Ball Backpack after all, a do-it-all tote that reflects Durant’s humble approach as a student of the game while allowing him quick access to all the requirements like headphones, iPad and extra kicks. The black, Photo Blue and Total Orange debut edition arrives next month with an Ice Blue sequel in January to be rounded out by a Hyper Blue third come April. Click through for a video preview as well as more photos, and let us know where Durant’s backpack ranks in the history of Nike bags.

Sneaker-inspired smartphone cases are hitting their stride in the second half of 2012 after all the other majors caught wind of how popular Vans’ Waffle Sole style had become. Off the Wall’s vulcanized take might still be the best we’ve seen to date, but with adidas releasing limited promo editions, Nike selling theirs at retail and plenty of ‘inspired-by’ brands borrowing from the game’s greatest means this is just the tip of the iceberg. The longest running major brand tosses its hat into the ring, as the Chuck Taylor All Star’s iconic medial ankle patch appears on three new iPhone cases. There’s also a Star/Chevron edition and a CONS style for the modern skate/early ’90s nostalgia in all of us, and they’ll hit select retailers this month just in time to position themselves as a hot holiday gift item.

Sneakers have come to life in forms outside of shoes and onto various accessories like phone-cases, car air-fresheners, clothing, pillows, and key-chains. The last of the bunch has been a popular item, and although we’ve seen plenty of miniaturized Air Jordan and Air Force 1 modeled forms, we’ve yet to see is a key-chain done Foamposite style – until now. We’re emphasizing that these aren’t official Nike-issued products, but it’s still a dope pick-up considering the congruent dimensions, laces, and even the clear icy outsoles. All of the colors shown here are actual colorways that have hit retail, so if you’re feeling any of them, purchase them from NYC-based retailer IMAGE-NY.
