The final Sneaker News Giveaway of 2011 was this sick EA Need For Speed ‘The Run’ Limited set, which featured a special edition Playstation 3 console, the game, the EA Need For Speed x adidas Originals Top Ten Hi, and an amazing box that featured carbon-fiber detailing and hood pins seen in high-performance street-racing cars. EA celebrates the 18th installment of the game-changing Need For Speed video game franchise with this limited edition Need For Speed ‘The Run’ kit, inspired by high-performance race cars. Carbon Fiber is an essential building material for these speed demons, as it reduces weight in key areas to improve performance; that idea is transferred to the Need For Speed ‘The Run’ kit, which comes in a special case constructed of leather and carbon fiber with hood pins on outer face of the package. Who doesn’t like a free pair of kicks? Sneaker News began giving back to the loyal Sneaker News community by throwing up for grabs some of the hottest sneaker releases of the year. We started with the Air Max 90 Infrared, and even parted with some limited fare, like the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’. For our most recent Sneaker News Giveaway, we decided to change things up a bit; instead of a sneaker release, we chose the Nike Air Max 1 iD, with the winner receiving his/her own design. The rules were just a tad different as well; we allowed just 100 entries, and the final winner decided by you. Last week, we unveiled the ten finalists for the Nike Air Max 1 iD Design Contest, and it was a sure and steady race all-around as there was no clear runaway favorite, and tonight, we are proud to announce the winner!

It didn’t take long for Sneaker News readers to submit their entries to the Sneaker News Nike Air Max 1 iD Design Contest, and after careful consideration, the Sneaker News staff whittled down the hundred entries into a solid group of ten. Some of the finalists feature the Denim Twill material that was all-new to the Nike Air Max 1 iD, while some spurned the new design option in favor of the classic suede and mesh while being dependent of a strongly composed colorway. The ten finalists selected capture the versatile nature of Nike iD, as some of the colorways below are either familiar or entirely fresh. Of course, the winner is selected by a popular vote, so be sure to vote for the winner on the poll at the very end – the polls close on Thursday, midnight!

Over the last year, Sneaker News has offered some of the best sneakers of the year in advance of the release date, but this time around we’re changing things up by giving away a pair of the Nike Air Max 1 iD – a sneaker that has no release date and until the end of the contest, is a complete mystery.
