Not only does Sneaker News bring you the most up-to-date sneaker-retailed hot topics, release information, and images, we also like to give back to the community. The Sneaker News staff is not unlike our readers – we all share a passion for sneakers and consider ourselves part of the sub-culture community that has grown to the worldwide fashion-forward phenomenon it is today. Sneaker News began a long stretch of sneaker giveaways beginning in the Fall of 2010, and in 2011 alone, we let go a pair of Black/Cement IIIs, Air Max 1 iDs, Fire Red IIIs, ‘Nique Pumps, Doernbecher IIIs, and Cool Grey XIs, but we decided to take it up a notch by giving away a one-of-fifty EA Battlefield 3 VIP Kit; it comes complete with the recently releases Battledfield 3 game, a limited edition XBOX 360, Apple TV, and a ton of more goodies housed in a military-grade galvanized metal trunk. Thousands entered the Giveaway, but only one entrant remains o n the giveaway battlefield.

“Black cards, black cars, black on black, black…Cement IIIs?” Sure, we changed the lyrics to that Jay-Z x Kanye West song just a bit, but it’s an edit that both Jay-Z and Kanye would welcome since the Air Jordan III Black/Cement is a favorite of both those guys (as well as Jordan fans worldwide). Capping off a great year for the OG Air Jordan III colorways is the Black/Cement colorway, which is currently slated for a Black Friday 2011 release (that’s November 25th if you need mark your smartphone calendars), but Sneaker News is looking to lace up your feet with these much earlier via the latest Sneaker News Giveaway. Who doesn’t like a free pair of kicks? Sneaker News began giving back to the loyal Sneaker News community by throwing up for grabs some of the hottest sneaker releases of the year. We started with the Air Max 90 Infrared, and even parted with some limited fare, like the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’. For our most recent Sneaker News Giveaway, we decided to change things up a bit; instead of a sneaker release, we chose the Nike Air Max 1 iD, with the winner receiving his/her own design. The rules were just a tad different as well; we allowed just 100 entries, and the final winner decided by you. Last week, we unveiled the ten finalists for the Nike Air Max 1 iD Design Contest, and it was a sure and steady race all-around as there was no clear runaway favorite, and tonight, we are proud to announce the winner!

It didn’t take long for Sneaker News readers to submit their entries to the Sneaker News Nike Air Max 1 iD Design Contest, and after careful consideration, the Sneaker News staff whittled down the hundred entries into a solid group of ten. Some of the finalists feature the Denim Twill material that was all-new to the Nike Air Max 1 iD, while some spurned the new design option in favor of the classic suede and mesh while being dependent of a strongly composed colorway. The ten finalists selected capture the versatile nature of Nike iD, as some of the colorways below are either familiar or entirely fresh. Of course, the winner is selected by a popular vote, so be sure to vote for the winner on the poll at the very end – the polls close on Thursday, midnight!

If you’re one of the thousands of loyal Sneaker News followers, you already know we’re all about giving back. Over the last year, Sneaker News has offered some of the best sneakers of the year in advance of the release date, but this time around we’re changing things up by giving away a pair of the Nike Air Max 1 iD – a sneaker that has no release date and until the end of the contest, is a complete mystery. To make this a bit more interesting, this latest Sneaker Giveaway winner will be determined by…who else? You! The Sneaker News Staff will select the finalists, but the winner will be chosen based on a reader vote. Only the first 100 entrants will be considered, and remember, we’re looking for originality and creativity – the true essence of Nike iD. The finalists will be announced early next week, so start designing!
