Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 – Lithuania PE

Pretty much nobody looked good against the unprecedented collection of elite basketball talent we’ve come to know as the Dream Team, but there was indeed one international squad who stood out amongst the pretenders.  The Lithuanian national basketball team captured an unexpected bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, and just as much attention was given to their Grateful Dead-inspired tie-dye garb.  Ballers including Arvydas Sabonis wore adidas back in those days, but over the past few years, the yellow, green and red has been outfitted by Nike Basketball to the tune of some eye-catching designs like the one pictured above.  The Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011‘Lithuania’ doesn’t have the speckling that abounded on their Air Max Hyperize from a couple years ago, but its high-contrast colorway is still among the most easily identifyable in all of sport.  Click through to see some additional angles and look for these at Foot Locker’s House of Hoops specialty locations.

Nike Air Bakin – Ripstop

September 8th, 2011 by | 6 comments

nike air bakin ripstop 1 Nike Air Bakin Ripstop

On the heels of our first look at an intense all-Varsity Red Air Max2 CB ’94 comes another House of Hoops exclusive from Nike Sportswear representing a midly controversial chapter in the history of ’90s basketball.  The Nike Air Bakin’ pictured above features a pinkish red shade only on select accents but is linked with the CB ’94s thanks to the use of a ripstop nylon underlay.  On the Air Bakins, the blue base layer stands out strongly, peeking through the vented black overlay for a finished product not all too dissimilar from the Air Jordan 1 Phat and Trunner LX ’11 grade school/girls drops we showed you earlier this morning.  These will prove much more difficult to procure, so be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates and in the meantime, check out some more images after the jump.  via Outnumber

Nike Air Max2 CB ’94 – Varsity Red Rip-Stop

Charles Barkley was the face of the Nike Force during the 90′s, and what a fitting face it was. The foul-mouthed power forward with a penchant for low-post scoring, rebounding, and getting under the skin of oppoents rocked some of the fiercest looking kicks in Nike history, like the Nike Air Max2 CB ’94. It’s due up for a remastering in the form of the Nike Air Max Barkley (a Hyperfuse-uppered version of the CB ’94), but before we reach that point, check out this tonal varsity red colorway; it features rugged rip-stop nylon on the upper, with white contrast stitching along the synthetic leather giving an added level of military-style appeal. These are a House of Hoops exclusive so head there to check ‘em out in person, but do so after you peep the detailed shots after the jump. via LTD-Online.

While Nike is based in on the West Coast, they have never been shy about the cultural importance of New York as a mecca for sneakerheads. As a result, we’ve seen countless models over the years paying tribute to NYC in some form, and the Battle of the Boroughs pack follows down that tradition. Earlier today we showed you the Queens and Bronx versions of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 and now Brooklyn and Harlem enter into the fray with these two special releases of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011. You can catch the Battle of the Boroughs game this Saturday at Dyckman Park, where the boroughs will face off while wearing these Hyperfuse 2011s, but if you want to cop a pair, catch these at Boulevard Ice! via Dime.

Nike Air Penny 3 LE Royal Ripstop Nike Air Penny III LE Black Varsity Royal | Release Date

Penny Hardaway made Sneaker News recently when images of his Nike Air Force 1 exclusive surfaced in June, but it’s Penny’s Nike Sportswear retros that keep him relevant for a generation of fans who never saw the man drop a single dime.  The Nike Air Penny III comes back out of left field with an updated take on its unique design, the black Foamposite plus Varsity Royal nubuck is kind of like a mid/late ’90s time capsule, but the use of ripstop nylon on the ankle collar and the sheer novelty of this striking new colorblocking scheme makes these feel totally fresh.  Click through to see more angles and look for the Penny 3 LE at House of Hoops starting Saturday, July 23rd.
