Next up on the Lunar bringback by Nike Sportswear is the Nike LDV – one of the earliest Nike Running models in the history’s catalog. Set to arrive later this year, the Nike Lunar LDV replaces the classic foam midsole with the Lunar foundation and a rather hefty traction outsole perfect for the outdoor track. These eight colorways are certainly in the works, with a OG Grey/Navy coming back with a funky green outsole, so check out the full preview below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for release updates.

Nike Lunar Terra Safari

In early 2011, Nike Sportswear released a unique hybrid model called the Nike Lunar Vengeance ACG Terra – a three-sided concept that involved the original V-Series running called the Nike Air Vengeance, ACG-inspired materials, and a revised Lunar-based outsole. Although the concept itself was praiseworthy, consumers weren’t exactly flocking to stores to try on a pair, and soon enough they became available for cheaper prices at outlet stores. Nike Sportswear revisits that concept with the soon-to-release Nike Lunar Terra Safari – this time using a much more trendier upper silhouette in the Nike Air Safari and the same ACG-inspired midsole seen in the Vengeance rendition. Will this rethought idea be a hit in stores? We have a few months to decide that because this Mortar/Sail-Mine Grey-Deep Smolder colorway isn’t hitting retailers until September, so check out the photos below and give us your opinions.

Nike Koston 2 IT Golf

If you caught our interview with Eric Koston and Nike Designer Shawn Carboy, you’d already know the cool story behind the Nike Koston 2 IT and how it required the collaboration between two seemingly unrelated sports. The shoe itself is a hybrid of two things, the Nike Koston 2 upper, and the outsole of the Nike Lunar Swingtip – a shoe that was inspired by Shawn’s design. The Nike Koston 2 IT – or Integrated Traction – features a unique leather upper that won’t stretch out and warp the original shape of the shoe, while the outsole is as golf-ready as you can get with the state-of-the-art outsole that provides ample support without the weight. Check out our exclusive photos below and keep an eye out for an official release on April 13th, although some retailers are dropping them as early as tomorrow.

Jordan Son of Mars Low “Tour Yellow” – Arriving at Retailers

Mars Blackmon had dropped out of Air Jordan advertising by the time Michael won his first NBA title against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1991.  Here we see MJ’s statistically jaw-dropping late ’80s and first taste of championship glory all mashed into one as the new Jordan Son of Mars Low takes on Tour Yellow and Grape Ice.  Particularly with the classic Brooklyn-capped character so prominently on the Air Jordan VI-style lace loops, this first lowtop Son of Mars colorway evokes the Showtime-era Lakers on the heels of a similarly styled AJ1.  No sign of those special camera insoles, but there are indeed quite a few details to examine below, so have a closer look and get ready for the Saturday, April 13th release date.

Nike Sportswear’s Air Max ‘Hometurf’ Collection continues with a model spanning the whole series in honor of the United Kingdom’s capital city.  The ‘London’ Nike Air Max 1 2013 has a fairly unassuming if sporty look in black and white, but the red peeking out from the sockliner alerts you that something special is going on in there.  A closer look reveals Union Jack striping on the innards, so check out more images below, then grab yours at NSW retailers including the UK’s own JD Sports.

Air Jordan 2012 Golf Cleats

March 27th, 2013 by | 4 comments

air jordan 2012 golf cleats 1 Air Jordan 2012 Golf Cleats
We’ve seen a few of the Bulls-era Air Jordans hit the links in the form of golf cleat hybrids over the years.  The one whose product cycle ended most recently is a natural fit for the traditionalist game given its wingtip inspiration, so the Air Jordan 2012 Golf Cleat pictured above has a fairly natural feel.  Perhaps that’s because it has shed much of its basketball identity and much like the AJ3 version that Michael Jordan himself also wore, these apply the 2012′s signature elements to a sleek, highly breathable spiked silhouette.  Interestingly, the tag inside this MJ-worn pair seems to have been ‘borrowed’ from one of those Jordan III cleats, so these might be even closer than we think.  Check them out in more images after the jump and stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates on more rarities like this one that apparently ended thanks to a successful negotiation with mdgusa on eBay.
