It looks like just about every colorway of the Air Jordan XIII to release in 2013 will be making its way over to the Air Jordan 1 via the hybrid style of the Air Jordan 1 Retro 97 TXT. The Air Jordan XIII ‘Squadron Blue’ seems to be the inspiration for this particular pair thanks to the discreet doses of that color that work their way into the model. In celebration of the successes of the Nike Air Max running series and USA Track and Field over the past quarter-century or so, Nike Sportswear is pairing some of its most storied silhouettes to cushioning updates courtesy of the Air Max 2013. This ‘USATF’ Nike Air Max 1 2013 Quickstrike takes the gold with a Desert Yellow shade cast on the original visible Air release, adding the AM2013′s flexible full-length bag for a past-inside-the-present look the likes of which we’ve not seen from the Eighty-Seven since the caged 360 editions. These will arrive at select Euro Nike Sportswear retailers this Friday, January 25th and we’ll be sure to keep you posted on a US release.

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls didn’t make much noise when they reached the Playoffs in 1985 (besides a mere 63-point game by the great one), but the story of the XIII is much different. In fact, when MJ wore the Air Jordan XIII, the Bulls won an NBA Title! This Spring 2013 release combines AJ1 and AJ13 to sum up the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97, with the popular ‘Playoffs’ colorway taking form in the tumbled black leather and dimpled upper. Just as the New Year began, Sneaker News showed you a sick collection of Air Max footwear inspired by the 2013 Nike Running “USATF” Collection. Beyond the actual colorway and design of the shoe, the sneaker models involved all incorporated the build of the all-new Air Max+ 2013; there was, of course, the Air Max+ 2013, but also a funky Air Max 1 2013, which featured the 2013 cushion supporting an Air Max 1 Hyperfuse upper. Joining this incredible collection of footwear is the Nike Air Max 97 2013; an Air Max 97 with a Hyperfuse-built upper is joined by the Air Max+ 2013 outsole, offering up quite the fitting upgrade to the first “full-length” visible Max Air running shoe of Nike’s revered heritage. Following up the ‘He Got Game’ colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 is this another mock-up based on an original colorway – the popular ‘Playoffs’ that hit stores early in 2011. It features a tonal black leather upper with the clear AJ13 cues on the upper dimpled panel, the holographic Jordan Wings logo, the Jumpman on the tongue, and the JORDAN flap at the base of the laces. Hybrids always have a tough time grasping the attention of Air Jordan purists, but do you think these are perhaps the most “clean” results we’ve ever seen? Earlier this month Jordan Brand unveiled an interesting hybrid Air Jordan 1 that brought in some design cues from the Air Jordan XIII, providing the name “Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97” in the process. It appears that maybe this formula of adding some flavor to an Air Jordan 1 base will be an ongoing theme, as we’ve already seen some interesting attempts in the Air Jordan Prime 5 and Air Jordan Sixty Club. This White/Black-Gym Red sample is a clear indication of that ‘He Got Game’ colorway that has been confirmed for a release, but it’s not entire clear if this Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 model is just a promo sample (size 13 for Michael Jordan, perhaps?). The Jordan Spiz’ike has shown off a couple of new colorways in recent weeks, but let’s not forget about the pair that’s slated to release in what’s left of January. This ‘Challenge Red’ Spizike takes its name from those select accents including contrast stitching cast in this aggressive hue. But most of the shoe is black, and including the always eye-catching patent leather along with a golden brown shade might have you thinking ‘All Gold Everything’.
