Some say ‘Linsanity’ already saw his 15 minutes of fame. If he stays healthy and plays smart basketball (while keeping the TOs down), 15 minutes can easily be 15 years. In terms of offseason player movements, a lot of attention will be placed on the New York Knicks, who have quite a number of contracts to deal with (Jeremy Lin’s being the top priority). He could very well be a Knick for years to come, or he might pack his bags to a team either looking for true guidance in his position or a marketing magnet for the Asian fanbase. In any case, Linsanity ain’t stopping anytime soon, and you can keep the good times rolling with tomorrow’s release of the ‘Away’ colorway of his Hyperdunk 2011 Low PE. Your thoughts on where Lin will play this November? Let us know in the comments below and if you want to complete your Linsanity Hyperdunk set, cop ‘em now on from psneakers on eBay.

With the New York Knicks about to award interim coach Mike Woodson with a multiyear contract, one can’t help but notice that ‘What if?’ would be second only to ‘Linsanity’ for 2011-12 team taglines. What if the Knicks had Woodson and Jeremy Lin from the start, and what if Amar’e had tapped into the power of ‘serenity now’? Might an improved regular season record and resultant easier path through the playoffs have culminated in Lin’s Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low ‘Away’ PE drop coinciding with an NYK/MIA Eastern Conference Finals matchup instead of their lopsided first round affair? It’s easy to let your imagination run wild with the kind of unpredictability we’ve already experienced, and with the summer right around the corner, Lin’s Hyperdunk 2011 Lows hitting retailers this Saturday, May 26th gives Knicks fans closure for this season of ‘could’ve beens’. Check out a set of new images after the jump and grab yours before this weekend’s rush from skit_japan on eBay.

The Knicks’ season is done and Linsanity failed to make a reappearance (for what it’s worth, it’s would’ve been wiser for Lin to keep that knee healthy than making a feeble attempt at postponing the Knicks’ inevitable fall to the Heat), but Nike’s keeping the excitement alive with a second release of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low ‘Linsanity’ PE. Featuring a Black/Orange colorway and the bold-faced LINSANITY detailing on the insole, this second release should Lin in the conversation for sure as he enters into restricted free agency as a hot commodity (his upside as a player and marketing figure is very high). Will the Knicks match any offer, or is the price of keeping Linsanity in the Big Apple too much for the Knicks? We’ll wait for the NBA season to come to close to revisit that conversation, so check out these new images of Lin’s second Hyperdunk 2011 Low release and we’ll keep you updated on a release. International competition is an annual affair, with various tournaments and events being held year-around across the globe. The Olympic Games, however, get the most attention, which is why Nike will go the extra step for their 2012 Olympics footwear and apparel capsule like this USA-inspired colorway of Navy/University Red-White on this Hyperdunk 2011 Low. While not an official Team USA product, you can certainly expect something just like this, adopting the patriotic red, white, and blue painted all around the shoe. No word a release of this particular sample as this is a Spring 2012 Promo Sample, but we’ll keep you updated if these do pop up. Better yet, cop this sample size 9 from two1thr33kickz on eBay!

It wasn’t enough to keep former coach Mike D’Antoni around when Carmelo and co. collectively checked out, but Jeremy Lin’s influence on the New York Knicks this season is still easily one of the year’s most notable stories. The young Harvard grad who’d been all but forgotten by the talent-rich NBA seemingly came out of nowhere to spark an outbreak of ‘Linsanity’ when he set all kinds of records and led the Knicks to seven wins in his first seven starts. This new Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low PE is the ‘Away’ counterpart to the ‘Linsanity’ Hyperdunk 2011 Low that released about a month ago, it’s battle-ready black colorup just the kind of thing we would have expected to see from Lin in the playoffs, had a knee injury not prematurely ended his meteoric rise in the Big Apple. Lin chose the cautious route so he’ll be ready come next season; will this ‘Away’ version of his Hyperdunk 2011 player exclusive be along for the ride? The thought of an ‘asterisk’ has been thrown around in 2012 NBA Playoff conversations for a number of reason. Derrick Rose, the reigning MVP, was done after just one game of the Playoffs, and the season itself was shortened by 16 games with a schedule far more condensed. Despite what went down, the Philadelphia Sixers (8 seed) defeated the Rose-less Chicago Bulls (1 seed) in six games, with a Game 6 sealed by Andre Iguodala who displayed one of his best games of the year, contributing 20 points, 7 dimes, and 4 boards while hitting the game-winning free throws at the end. During the series, Andre wore the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Elite Low of a PE variety, featuring a red Swoosh and the A7 logo on the tongue. He’s not the only fella rockin’ the Elite Lows, as other Nike swingmen like James Harden have been ballin’ in ‘em too. We’ve got another look at the shoes as well as Iggy wearing them in-game, so take a look and let us know if you think Philly can push forward with their momentum and take down the Celtics in Round 2! It’s safe to say by this point, that Blake Griffin will forever be inextricably tied to the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011. Blake broke out onto the national stage at last year’s dunk contest, debuted the Hyperdunk 2011 in his rookie ASG appearance the following night, then proceeded to posterize half of the league in the shoe before they could even get a pair. And because he was the first on board with the current model, Griffin also got a ‘Galaxy’ PE this year, in addition to standout colorways like the ‘Blake Show’ and Supreme-level player exclusives. With all this mutual success in the rear view, it wasn’t at all shocking when Blake suited up with the Hyperdunk 2011 Elite for the Clippers’ playoff run, but what’s happened in that series has been unexpected to say the least.
A series marked by blown leads, remarkable comebacks and a couple of dangerous dark horse championship contenders took another turn on Wednesday night at FedEx Forum. The Memphis Grizzlies avoided blowing another game and forced the series back to Los Angeles, where Blake Griffin switches back to a white ‘home’ Hyperdunk Elite not just to match the Clippers’ white home unis. Blake’s tendency to get punished by the opposing team continued as 265lb Grizz center Marc Gasol (who ironically enough, was also wearing Hyperdunk Elites after switching from the same Air Max Fly By Griffin rocked during his dunk contest win) plodded onto Griffin’s left foot, causing an awkwardly trapped ankle and a torn toe on the black ‘away’ edition.
This is a case where the substantial performance advantages conferred by modern synthetics can quickly turn into reminiscing on the durability of an ‘old fashioned’ postseason sneaker like the just-retroed Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’. But if the past is any indication, this modest setback will likely result in further innovation in Beaverton’s most famous kitchen in the name of addressing such issues. The Grizzlies and Clippers have also demonstrated they know all about that old what-doesn’t-kill-you adage during this series; which of your basketball sneakers has proved the most durable over the years?

All eight Playoff match-ups have moved beyond to Game 3 (the Indy/Orlando series are already gearing up for Game 4) and we’re starting to get a better idea of who will move up to the Second round and who will say good bye. We already showed you LeBron James’ PE of the Elite 9 and Kobe’s Purple/White ‘Supreme’ Kobe VII, but let’s take a look at what else was spotted over the last three nights of Playoff basketball; Dwyane Wade wore the White/Black/Red colorway Fly Wade 2 EV, while Landry Fields, who checked Wade on D most of the night, wore the Wolf Grey Kobe VII. Paul George finally swapped out to a Kobe VII iD was a fade option, while opponent Earl Clark wore the Nike Air Max Penny 1. Out West, OJ Mayo wore a PE of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Elite, and in San Antonio, sneakerhead-duo DeJuan Blair and NBA Feet Rookie of the Year Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs to a W with the Black/Cement III and Air Jordan XII Low ‘Black/Nubuck’, respectively. Plenty of more NBA Playoff Feet action below, so take a look and stay tuned for more NBA Feet coverage of the 2012 NBA Playoffs! Photos: espn
