Converse is perhaps the quintessential All-American sneaker brand, but they’ve enjoyed tremendous popularity in Japan for quite some time.  The top-tier Addict series is exclusive to the Land of the Rising Sun, and while these newest releases aren’t part of that series, they do indeed reflect the meticulous craftsmanship that’s one of the nation’s hallmarks.  The Converse Canvas All Star J Hi and Ox bring forth two and three colorways, respectively, distinguished from the general releases by subtle lettering on the heel and insole.  Made in Japan and exclusive to nearby retailers, you can see more of these Chuck Taylors after the jump.

Converse Addict Chuck Taylor All Star – Fall 2013

The Converse Addict collection represents the creme de la creme when it comes to Chuck Taylors, but the only catch is the series is exclusive to Japan.  US sneakerheads will find this ironic, as one of the three fall 2013 Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars from the Addict collection is a navy canvas pair with white stars in the exact size, shape and arrangement you’d expect from an American flag.  The Deep Purple and Deep Taupe are every bit the All-American classics in their own right, which is to say that the Converse Japan retailers who have these are in possession of some timeless Americana.  Take a look at all three after the jump and let us know how many pairs of Addict Chucks you’ve imported.

The neon-accented edition has come and gone in both high and lowtop forms this summer, but what about that very first adidas Y-3 Qasa High we saw back in March?  Yohji Yamamoto didn’t shelve those, just kept them up his sleeve for the perfect time, which turns out to be the start of the cold weather season.  This colorway is utterly timeless, which nicely balances the techno-minimalist vibes from this unique design, and you can see it from several more angles below before you grab a pair from high-end shops like Kith.

Having just examined the Koston 1 in two colorways, let’s take a closer look at the three fragment design x Nike SB Stefan Janoskis.  They’re set up similarly to the Kostons in that each of these lowtop Janoskis uses a color plus white recipe, but the big difference is that while the Koston is mostly a one-piece design, the Janoski’s traditional sewn construction allows for the presence of white stitching across the entire shoe.  That makes the grey, dark purple and black canvas builds all the more eye-catching, and you can see all three of these pairs set to hit Nike Taipei on September 14th, in more photos below.

Given how much their respective names contributed to the ’00s sneaker vanguard, it’s surprising that we haven’t seen Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design collaborate with Nike Skateboarding.  The two came a bit closer together when Supreme authored a set on the model HF knows so well, and while that newly SB’d classic court shoe would presumably be on the table here, fragment chooses a different duo of equally timeless Swoosh skate silos.  These Nike SB Stefan Janoski and Koston 1s are done in simple two-tone palettes with the lightning bolt logo at the heel, and Sneaker News will keep you posted on release dates for what looks to be four pairs in total.

Yohji Yamamoto’s long running adidas Y-3 imprint has serous momentum at the moment, after debuting the bold Qasa and a thinking man’s Shelltoe in the Super Position.  The collection takes a somber turn for the cold weather months, as the Y-3 Fall/Winter 2013 catalog shows this round’s Superstar to be a ‘Snow Model’ done up in a hunter’s palette, complete with cinch closure at the ankle.  A few familiar models show up in new colorways, so check out the whole set after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on these pairs’ arrivals.
