Nike Air Max 90 – White – Grey – Light Blue

This latest Nike Air Max 90 follows the same use of materials as previous 90s in hopes that the synthetic upper and textile toe would live to the long-lived and long-praised suede-and-mesh combination. The upper is a light grey while the remaining trim – toe, ankle, swoosh, midsole – are all white, and that color combo is always a success for the 90. The year 2010 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Nike Air Max 90. While that figure isn’t as notable a landmark as a 25th or 50th Anniversary, twenty years of relevance is not to be overlooked. Nike seems to agree, as we’ve already seen some great, simple colourways drop thus far, like the Obsidian Air Max 90 (aka the Yankees Home and Away) and the Celtics-inspired colourway. Check out these newly dropped JD Exclusives, taking on a “reverse” role of sorts; the midsole and mesh area are black, while the mudguard and toe leather are white. The Nike Air Max Light probably has the highest following-to-hype ratio. We rarely hear about them in advance, but due at least in part to their often Euro-exclusive status, AMLs are among the Swoosh’s top cult favourites. It’s been a while since we’ve seen any race-inspired adidas’ but they’ve once again collaborated with Porsche design to drop a few more slick looking shoes. Slightly different in tooling from the last pair we’ve seen, the shoe fits the look of your typical generic casual sneaker. When this model first came out in 1995, Nike named it the Air Total Max. But since then it’s popularity and contribution to Nike Air has since been better known simply as the Air Max 95. LIVESTRONG releases from Nike this year have put a vicegrip on black/yellow just like ‘Chicago’ did with white/black/red or how most things you see in purple/gold remind you of ‘Lakers’. While this effect is undoubtedly a benefit to the cause of crushing cancer, it might lead to some confusion over these latest Nike Air Max 90s.
