Another Look at the Nike KD 7 “N7″

The annual installment of the Nike KD “N7″ is upon us, and this year’s may just be the best yet. That vibrant photo blue palette goes particularly well with the OKC uniforms, but there’s a lot more going on in this model that past years. Where as a Native American-motif is always present due to the fact that the existence of N7 is to help benefit that community, here it’s more obvious than ever thanks to a metallic gold totem pole like print on the heel. Accents of red arrive on the KD tongue detailing as well, and while we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see Kevin wear this colorway in-game as he recovers from injury, what do you think of this pair? We’re still waiting to confirm a release date, but in the meantime we have a better view of the latest Nike KD 7 after the break.

Nike KD 7 GS – Purple – Bleached Turquoise – Hyper Grape – Magnet Grey

Earlier this year Drake was fined $25K for comments made at a concert about trying to convince Kevin Durant to come to Toronto (Drizzy still retains that Team Ambassador title so any talk of lurring players to one’s team is against league rules). And while nearly every team is trying to do something to convince KD to ditch Oklahoma City, there’s still a few years left before that can become an actual possibility. This Nike KD 7 apparently can’t wait as the GS look is fairly reminiscent of the Canadian squad’s original colors thanks to a bountiful helping of purple and black as the base while a bright red outsole finishes things off. And while it’s a stretch to think that this is some unofficial hinting of KD’s wandering loyalty considering it’s only a kids size run, it’s nice to see the vibrance continue in some looks to match NBA squads. Continue onward to check out more photos of the latest KD 7 colorway (note that while this is a GS release, the model shown is a preschool size so the final look may feature small differences) and be sure to let us know if you’re feeling this purple aesthetic in the comments.

Nike KD 7 “On The Road” – Release Reminder

nike kd 7 on the road release reminder 01 Nike KD 7 On The Road Release Reminder

The Nike KD 7 “On The Road” is headed to retailers tomorrow, October 23rd, 2014. Both KD and Kerowack, author of the seminal beat-genration novel On The Road, know something about travelling – Kevin spends at least 41 games away from OKC (add in 9 or so more when dealing with the firm fact that the Thunder are contending for a title in the playoffs) so he needs a solid colorway to hold him down throughout this season. With a black base, Hyper Crimson and Photo Blue flank the sneaker in an homage to the Thunder’s road unis – although we wouldn’t be surprised if a few Knicks laced this pair up too. Grab this brand new KD 7 from select spots like Footaction tomorrow, or try your luck early on eBay.

There aren’t many pro-athletes in history that treasure “home” as much as Kevin Durant does, but the truth is that he spends his season away from it as much as he does in it. This latest KD 7 storyline takes us through Kevin Durant’s mindset as he travels away from OKC, bonding with his teammates and always in search for a quick workout or shoot-around at a local gym. The underlying theme here is that despite being on the road, KD will always feel at home at the hardwood.
