When it comes to burgeoning brands offering ostentatious super-hightops, the most obvious answer to the clue would be Supra. Their Skytop line is massively successful with the young skateboarder set, but if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, check out these new releases from Android Homme. The Propulsion lineage works double duty as the Android Homme Propulsion 2.5 joins the 1.5, and is joined by the all new tassle-collared Mach 2 chukka. These premium lifestyle sneakers range from $190 to $380; do you find these sufficiently beautiful to justify a near ‘double-Elite’ MSRP? Let us know when you click through to see the whole collection, then find yours at select retailers like Kith.

There have been plenty of patterned-uppered Chuck Taylors over the years, but those often come with familiar themes or imagery. For the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ‘Abstract’ the name reflects the fact that although you’ve never seen anything quite like this, the lines represent the way your eyes work and how your focus moves across a visual field. It’s one quick and easy way to make sure your kicks are turning heads wherever you go, and this pair’s CMYK colorup is nicely primed for another carefully selected color on a lace swap. Either way, you’re looking at a couple of the more unique All Stars in recent memory, and they’re available now at Size?

Brooklyn emcees the Beastie Boys lost founding member Adam Yauch to cancer last week, but the group still has three dudes intact if you count the guy who was once known as ‘the fourth Beastie’. Street photographer Ricky Powell has seen the entire arc of hip-hop culture, from those ’80s golden era days to the current environment where something like Run-DMC’s deal with adidas is more like the rule than an exception. But Powell manages to maintain some of that limited edition mystique by teaming up with one of the smaller major brands, and his Ricky Powell x Pony capsule most definitely lives up to his ‘Do You…’ creedo. The black hightop Slam Dunks are fully vegetarian to match Ricky’s lifestyle, and a bunch of matching gear will be on tap whenever these hit retail. Their ZX 700 Boat was among the first deck shoe hybrid sneakers to gain notoriety a few years back and in 2012, adidas has put some serious energy behind boat (-inspired) designs. From the launch of the skate division’s Janoski-leaning Jonbee to Originals’ Seeley and the new performance-oriented CC Boat Lace, Three Stripes has something for everyone who’s after that ‘Lonely Island’ look. And now, the adidas Originals Court Deck Vulc Mid takes this surge that much higher, its Docksider-meets-Nizza silhouette coming off fairly unique, especially given how many kicks we’ve seen try this look over the past few years. Check them out in greater detail below, let us know how they compare to your favorite boat shoes and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability. via SM

Nike has NFW’d their Hyperdunks before for lifestyle purposes, but this new design for ladies takes that casual-ization process to a whole ‘nother level. The Nike WMNS Hyperclave Lite is a cutesy take on the Hyperdunk (2010) silhouette, its technical prowess replaced by a Sport Red and white floral print that gives this shoe some depth beyond the simple two-tone palette. The slimmed down sole on these is a bit more feminine than your average Nike Sportswear AC sole and this thinner bottom in combination with the modern silo gives a fresher feel than the vulc-soled Force and Flight reduxes from a couple years back; do you see them in your future, now that they’re available at NSW stores like Atlanta’s Wish?

Los Angeles’ The Hundreds teased us a while back with their most impressive sneaker lookbook to date, and now a few of those pairs are ready to join some new designs at retail. The Hundreds no longer insists that their kicks be called ‘footware’, but familiar designs like the Johnson Mid and Riley High, as well as the Scully runner should connect longtime fans to the bomb brand’s short yet rich legacy. Click through to see for yourself how cues from the classics have been altered and recombined to make the modern casual standard and look for yours at Hundreds retailers worldwide starting Thursday, May 10th.

Nike Sportswear continues to build upon the successes of models like the Toki, Aina and Hachi with new designs including this one that falls squarely into that chukka lineage. The Nike Chukka Go Canvas lives up to its name in a Hazelnut build whose leather laces get an added boost thanks to Birch eyelets matching the vulc sole. There’s also a hint of vivid blue peeking out from the sockliner to give these a bit of extra flavor beyond your average brown casual sneaker, but the teal-ish shade is just as neutral as the brown and cream colors, so these wind up perhaps even more versatile as a result. Check them out from a few other angles below, then find yours at NSW retailers like Titolo.

Not nearly the jaw-dropper that Spike Lee’s Knicks Foamposites were, but these Roshe Runs are pretty sweet, aren’t they? In some spots in the world, the Roshe Run has been flying off the shelves because they’re just so darn comfortable, and the $70 price-tag is one of the lowest we’ve seen on a stylish NSW model in a long while. While a release on this ‘Knicks’ colorway of the Roshe Run hasn’t been confirmed, these would certainly be a hit in NYC, where the Roshe Run is currently experiencing quite the level of popularity. Your thoughts on this colorway? Let us know what you think and we’ll throw you some updated information should it arrive. Photos/Info: sneakersbr
Update: These are currently scheduled to release during the Fall 2012 season.
