The Nike Solarsoft Moccasin has given birth to a couple new offspring this season.  There’s the Solarsoft Costa which switches away from the moc vibe entirely to more of a performance running feel, and the Solarsoft Run which does a similar thing in a very different way.  And that’s not all; check out this new leather sample edition, of which supposedly only ten pairs were made.  It’s not clear if these are intended to hit retail in the coming months but if they did, it’s easy to think they’d find a sizeable audience with the effortless good looks displayed on this pair.  Click in to see it from more angles and if you like what you see, cop yours from jeffrey_d_hawkins on eBay.

Jeremy Scott loves to put crazy tongues on the adidas Originals Instinct hightop.  He also loves to deal in local pride as we’ve seen several tribal styles and last year’s popular ‘USA’ JS Wings 2.0 that gave way to ASAP Rocky’s followup.  Here’s a new pair that effectively combines these threads, with the new Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Instinct Hi UJ slapping the UK’s familiar Union Jack on the tongues of an otherwise white pair.  This British invasion is coming to select Three Stripes retailers soon and you can see more angles after the jump below.

vans lxvi data 570x425 Vans LXVI Data

Vans’ core identity is bound up in the fact that they made shoes so well in the 1960s and ’70s that those are still selling huge numbers to this day.  But they’ve also embraced technological advances in recent years, particularly with the Vans LXVI line taking a more cutting edge approach to building skate shoes.  The newest part of the series is actually more of a casual design, the Vans LXVI Data a lowtop with a Chukka-ish build that’s made all the more lightweight by RapidWeld construction.  Let us know your first impression once you’ve seen more photos below, then cop yours straight from Vans.

Nike Flystepper 2K3

February 11th, 2014 by | 13 comments

nike flystepper 2k3 crescent city 01 570x424 Nike Flystepper 2K3

The Nike Flystepper 2K3 is a continuation of several Nike Sportswear design threads. Most obviously, the name and upper panels refer to the Flight 2K3 that was popular the hardwood about a decade ago. The ‘stepper’ part including velcro straps on a vulc-soled hightop is an iteration of the concept begun with the NSW Skystepper, itself seen upon its debut seen as an everyman’s Air Yeezy. By doubling up the straps and adding Alpha Project dots a la Flightposite 3 and using a shark skin or scale-shedding toe texture like the Kobe 8 SS, we have a new casual hightop that elegantly brings together a decade of selections from the Swoosh’s most dominant years yet. They drop along with the other ‘Crescent City’ kicks on Saturday, so see more photos below before buying at shops like CNCPTS or grab them on eBay.

adidas announced last November that the fall/winter 2013-14 SLVR line would be the sleek lifestyle capsule’s final run.  Don’t necessarily expect this to be the final appearance of the adidas Originals S-M-L, though, as this t-shirt-sized lowtop that looks like it could be one of Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3s has shed its ‘SLVR’ heel tag and looks to have been co-opted by the Originals division.  This ladies pair in neon orange makes quite the first impression, and after the tonal upper captures your eye, you can’t help but notice the unique shape on that pristine white midsole.  Click in for a closer view, then cop yours at Originals stores like TGWO.
