New Balance x Overkill – Berlin Wall Pack Preview

We have already seen previews of the Berlin Wall edition of the Air Pegasus 89, but it appears that Nike won’t be the only brand celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. New Balance and Overkill will be teaming up to create three different versions of the New Balance 577, each with its own significance to the historic event. There will be a red pair to symbolize the SBZ Soviet occupied zone, as well as a blue pair for the Western Allies and a black version to represent the Iron Curtain. Each shoe will feature Berlin Wall graphics on the insoles as seen in these pics, and each box will contain some additional “surprise treats.” Stay tuned for more pics of the kicks before their December 5th release at select retailers such as Gothenburg’s Shelta.

Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 850 – “Skippy” Video – Part 2

Last week, we showed you part 1 of the video complement to the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance “Skippy” collaboration and now, everyone’s favorite kangaroo is back for part 2. This installment finds Skippy coming across a young boy who is cleaning his New Balance 580’s, only to realize that the shoe is made from kangaroo leather! As you can imagine, Skippy is anything but pleased to witness this atrocious act of barbarism. Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 850 “Skippy” – Detailed Images & Video

With the near-complete proliferation of broadband, we’ve been hooked to YouTube for at least three years now. This project represents perhaps the most clever use of online video to promote a sneaker collaboration. For their upcoming ‘Skippy’ edition of the New Balance 850, Australian magazine Sneaker Freaker cranked the kitschy/’viral’ knob up to 11 and produced a teaser clip for ol Skippy that’ll have you in stitches. As for the shoes themselves, we also get an extensive detailed look at the rarely used 850, enhanced by kangaroo leather and a colourway that is all at once unreasonable and unavoidably brilliant. They’re set to drop on December 5th, so in the meantime, peep over a dozen new photos and the Skippy ‘trailer’ video after the jump.

Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 850 “Skippy”

We have seen some great sneaker collaborations in recent months and these are no different. Sneaker Freaker magazine and New Balance have teamed up to create a very unique New Balance 850 shoe dubbed the “Skippy”. These sneakers have a black and brown upper made of some great premium materials like suede, mesh and light brown leather that looks butter soft from the detailed images. There are also nice accents of neon yellow around the New Balance “N”, on the midsole and sock liner. The Sneaker Freaker logo can also be found on the insoles of the shoe. The subtle base colors with bright accents really give this New Balance 850 a truly unique design. Via NewBalanceLive

New Balance M670 – 2010 Spring/Summer

New Balance has steadily been dropping some clean designs and colorways as we have seen in recent months. Whether they are collaborations or general releases we have been impressed with the choice of colors and textures used. New Balance’s newest project is new the M670 line produced in the UK. These M670’s are expected to drop for the 2010 Spring/Summer season. There are 4 pairs in total, which all feature a suede/mesh upper. The 4 colorways are: grey/navy-white, brown/yellow-white, cream/orange-navy and predominantly navy blue colorway with hints of grey and white. UNDFTD x Stussy x Hectic x New Balance MT580 ‘SMU’

The last time this trio got together and designed a New Balance 580 runner, the results were quite flashy. The Full Metallic Jacket Pack went hard in three shiny leather models ready for war, but their recent teamwork has resulted in something more in line with the general tendency toward ‘maturity’ in streetwear. The Undefeated x Stussy x Hectic x New Balance MT580 ‘SMU’ has a name more complex than its relatively simple design. They borrow the black/white/gum palette we’ve seen several times this year, but send it in a totally different direction with the purple lining. New Balance H754BGY Boots – Brown + Olive Green

Unlike adidas, New Balance is no novice when it comes to boots. They have rugged sneakers, hybridized models made for harsh conditions, and of course, actual boots. Pictured above, the New Balance H754BGY is probably closest to that third option. The midsole is vaguely similar to a simple athletic shoe, but considering NB’s crazy designs, this one is clearly intended for something else. Both in suede, with a black leather mudguard, you can get a brown pair or the olive green joints from Caliroots.
