New Balance CM580

new balance cm580 New Balance CM580

The New Balance CM580 is a sneaker that’s seen far less love than its relative the New Balance MT580 over the past couple of years. While the latter has been selected for countless collabs and long-lusted after by American buyers who don’t see them in stores too often, the former has lurked in relative obscurity during the New Balance boom. They’re back though, with the New Balance CM580 just now popping up in some perfect Spring colorways. One is a tonal grey, a must have for any given NB silo. The other mixes in purple and yellow to an almost “Easter” effect. See both below and watch for these New Balance CM580 joints at retailers like Packer Shoes.

Capturing the roadrunning performance intent with which they were crafted, plenty of New Balance classics release with reflective elements, especially the side ‘N’s.  Considerably fewer have phosphorecent hits, which is just one of the reasons the New Balance 574 ‘Northern Lights Pack’ will be such a hot commodity this weekend.  These three US-made 574s will only be available in-store at Concepts in Cambridge this Saturday, April 13th, but unlike notable collaborations like the ‘Kennedy’ and ‘Seal’ 999s, these skip the co-branding in favor of pure suede and mesh magic.  Click through to see more the first Made in the USA GITD NBs and stick with Sneaker News for all your release date needs.

The collab stuff from New Balance has been increasingly hard to get here in the US in 2013. First up it was the Fingercroxx pair, which only hit at a handful of retailers and in extremely limited quantities at that. And then it was the Sneaker Freaker banger, which didn’t even see North American shores. Next up it’s the United Arrows x New Balance 1500, a pair that will hopefully be a little more easily attainable than the previously mentioned pairs. Europe’s Titolo has theirs in hand now, with a release apparently coming soon. In addition to that you can expect select US shops to roll them out on April 28th. See the United Arrows x New Balance 1500 after the jump and tell us if you’re after a pair.

There’s now doubt that the New Balance 1600 has made the most waves so far amongst all of the “Elite Edition” sneakers currently coming from New Balance. Looking for another home run, the New Balance 1600 Elite Edition is back again with a look that gets away from the grey/black tones of those red and blue pairs. There’s plenty more color this time, as an olive suede takes over the upper and gets boosted by a bright yellow around the perimeter. Get an in depth look at the New Balance 1600 Elite Edition right after the jump and remember you can purchase this pair now from Feature Sneaker Boutique.

Another season means a second round of New Balance Elite Edition drops, as one model takes on the look from one of the others from spring.  The New Balance 1500 Elite was the one of the spring season group that’d featured the simplest colorways and contrast stitching, and here we see it redone in a blocking pattern more similar to the 999 Elites.  Red laces in a grey suede/mesh shoe is always a nice twist, and this pair’s strings work in conjunction with a matching heel, so take a closer look at how they’re laid out below, then grab yours at NB retailers like Oneness.

Remember those Nike illustrations from the sketchbook of Josh Parkin? The illustrator’s talents extent beyond the world of Swoosh, as he’s gone back to the drawing board and come back with this series entitled “Trainer Takeover”. Models drawn include the New Balance 1500, Nike Air Flow, adidas Gazelle, and more. There doesn’t appear to be a unfying theme amongst them, but each model is re-imagined at super scale, some of them as bumper cars and others as space ships. Stay with us through the jump to see each shot and let us know if you like Josh Parkin’s cartoony approach to these footwear legends.

New Balance 996 – Navy – Grey – White

It worked spectacularly well on the three ‘Color Pack’ releases from the first quarter, so New Balance recognized that this year’s most prolific 996 pattern would be just as satisfying in the brand’s traditional colors.  The resulting sweetness is this New Balance 996 in navy suede and mesh that adds silvery greys including a textured leather on the rear that serves to underline the reflective side panel ‘N’ branding.  These photos feature the old 996 tongue tag, which suggests that might look a little different once these arrive on store shelves in July, so have a closer look below and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.
