Nike Air Lava Dome – Hasta – Sunburst – Seaweed

Just because it got a ’2012′ update like the Air Magma, don’t predict doomsday for the Nike Air Lava Dome just yet. We’ve seen a few styles for fall and this new one points forward to the holiday season with its unique blend of aquatic greens and Sunburst red branding. It’s the kind of quirky colorway we haven’t seen much of until recently in the sneaker world, but one that’s typical of the exuberant All Conditions Gear collection. Expect this new Air Lava Dome 2.4 in store at Nike Sportswear retailers for October and check out some more images in the meantime.

Nike Air Lava Dome 2012 – Upcoming Colorways

nike air lava dome 2012 1 Nike Air Lava Dome 2012 Upcoming Colorways

Catalog images often provide our first glimpse at a new upcoming model, but here’s a case where seeing them after a clearer set pays off with a much better understanding of what to expect at retail.  The Nike Air Lava Dome 2012 has a refreshed sole a la Air Magma 2012, and thanks to the translucent green-bottomed pair we saw earlier this week, we know to expect a slightly spongey, somewhat see-through look on the other two colorways revealed in these images.  Armed with our earlier close-up look and evidence of additional colorblocking possibilities, we can start to imagine what the future holds for the Lava Dome 2012, and you can see all three in more photos below.

Nike ACG Okwahn II – Matte Silver – Charcoal – Anthracite

If there were something like a National Hiking Association, it seems a foregone conclusion that Nike All Conditions Gear would have the same stranglehold on the league’s talent as the Swoosh’s Basketball division. Even as all the other major sneaker manufacturers turn more attention to their winter boot offerings, Nike ACG stays ahead of the curve with trendsetting designs and tech-oriented performance models that are simply beyond reproach. The new Nike ACG Okwahn II is a great example of how the rising tide of competition in this sector has raised all ships, as this speckle-soled trail midtop marks an increased attention to detail (and ankle height) compared to the original. Check back with Sneaker News for updates on this October release and let us know how these compare to the first two colorways after you’ve seen more photos.

Nike Air Lava Dome 2012

nike air lava dome 2012 01 Nike Air Lava Dome 2012

Nike keeps the pedal to the metal when it comes to new boot designs, and in this case, extends the reimagination of its classics we just saw on the Air Magma 2012. In fact, the Nike Air Lava Dome 2012 features a very similar sole update to the contemporary Magma, including the same translucent bottoms that made the earlier revelation so intriguing.   This black mix of suede and ripstop nylon goes with a ghoulish green that looks like it would glow in the dark, but a quick flip of the switch proves otherwise.  They’re a bit higher than the Lava Dome we’ve come to know and love over the past three decades and prove that just about every classic Swoosh silhouette can be refreshed with a new look, and you can see more of this first pair after the jump below.

Nike Air Lava Dome – Henna – Dark Gold Leaf – Team Red

Given the timing, with fall just around the corner as the college season is getting underway and the NFL set to kickoff next weekend, has there ever been a better sneaker release for a northern Virginia football fan than this new Nike Air Lava Dome 2.4 pictured above? Sure, the Lava Dome is a time-tested trail boot with more than enough durability to handle the Appalachian Trail, but it’s not known for being a mainstream smash or subject to much hype of any kind. But take this rugged design and craft it with a rustic autumnal colorup that effectively combines the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech Hokies, and this could be ‘the’ fall shoe at certain stadiums in the mid-Atlantic. Let us know where your allegiances lie after you’ve had a chance to see more images below and pre-order this October drop today from Titolo.

Nike Air Max Humara – Black – Silver Sage – Deep Smoke

Back before the sneaker blogosphere, before smartphones and before broadband, sneakerheads used to have to turn to print magazines like Vogue to get an inside look at the industry. It was in that venerable fashion mag back in 1997 that Nike designer Peter Fogg discussed his inspiration for the timeless Terra Humara trail runner, a model whose influence can still be felt to this day. Not only is Jordan Brand about to release a new style with obvious inspiration from the Terra Humara’s distinctive eyestay, but the original has been revamped with a new cushion that gives the Nike Air Max Humara a fresh look. Somewhere between the Air Max 90 and 94, the Air Max Humara’s three-windowed heel cushion is an eyecatching anachronism, particularly in pink on this pair currently available for pre-order from Titolo.

Nike Air Magma 2012

nike air magma 2012 Nike Air Magma 2012

The Air Magma boot is a trail design whose simple lines and traditional suede plus contrasting laces formula has been a hit since its 1988 debut. It’s been a big part of the All Conditions Gear resurrection in recent years and met with a couple new variations last winter, but has been basically silent since those medial-zippered fragment design collabos dropped last December. This seems to be another one of those cases where the silence speaks volumes to what was going on behind the scenes, as today we get our first look at the Nike Air Magma 2012′s updated lines. Their connection to the OG is apparent in the simple lines and rugged sensibility, the latter of which is amplified by a rubberized toe bumper that draws your eye to the entirely new translucent sole setup. Both of these first pairs come in leather ‘workboot’ motifs including corded Red Wing-style laces and brass eyelets, so have a closer look below, let us know if you’d still like to see the classic ‘NIKE’ script above that embossed ankle Swoosh and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.

Nike ACG Okwahn II

nike acg okwahn ii Nike ACG Okwahn II

The latest release from Nike All Conditions Gear is a sequel for a model so obscure, its most common Google results are quoted comparisons to the recent hit Lunar MacLeay. So even though you’ve probably never seen a pair of the first ones, the Nike ACG Okwahn II has the social proof of resembling what’s arguably the most successful ACG design of the last decade. They’re similar in that both opt for minimal branding on rugged trail running midtop silhouettes, but unique thanks tot he Okwahn 2′s forefoot perforated gradient. A black/red style is perhaps more aggressive though Vegas Gold and Anthracite with magenta accents is probably more eye-catching, and both are available now at select Nike Sportswear stockists like CNCPTS.
