A little over a week ago, the Nike Sportswear ‘Dream Team’ Pack released after most stores missed the originally publicized July 1st drop date. That quartet of classic basketball silhouettes celebrates USA Basketball’s dominance with colorways like the ones you’ll see on display in London in a short while, its counterpart opting for an equally summer-friendly but altogether different appearance. The ‘Black Volt’ pack‘s approach is most apparent on the nearly all-neon Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4, though there’s no mistaking the black nubuck that makes up the majority of the Shox BB4, Air Force 180 and Air Force 1 High for a USAB style. Finshing the set is the Air More Uptempo that had previously been slated for a House of Hoops exclusive, but you’ll find all five of these available now at select NSW stockists on the revised July 21st release date. via ITSB

Nike can’t stress enough how much it emphasizes performance and innovation as the driving force behind the brand’s future outlook. It continues to be the ‘first’ at a number of sports apparel advancements and engineering, with two of the more praised findings being Nike Lunar and Nike Flyknit. The Flyknit Trainer first introduced the combo of Flyknit and Lunar, but this Spring 2013, it appears another similar model will become available – perhaps the first of several ‘Lunar Flyknit’ models. Dubbed the Nike Lunar One+, this new Spring 2013 model features the Flyknit Trainer upper with the dual-layer LunarLon outsole that you will find on the all-new LunarGlide+ 4. A nice variety of colorways is previewed just ahead, so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on this Spring 2013 Flyknit capsule. Photos: aaronknows

While the upcoming retro pairs will arrive sans the classic pump mechanism, there is at least one lone wolf out there in the world of customs bent on resurrecting the Nike Air Force 180 High in true OG form. Revive already went to town on one pair, breathing some new life into them via a crafty sole swap, and he’s back again this time with a colorway tune up. The murderous moniker references this, with the Dave Robinson special getting dipped in an almost all black look. Click through with us to check out the results and let us know if you would pick up a pair like the Nike Air Force 180 High ‘Murder’ if it were to magically appear in the retro lineup.

The ‘pressure’ is on Nike Sportswear to bring back the original pump mechanism for the Air Force 180 High, though it appears manufacturing costs combined with the fact that it’d no longer be a performance leader, will keep that true OG form at bay at least for now. Take the call for that ‘true’ retro and invert it, and you might end up with a project like this that applies a more recent tooling kit to the bottom of a 1991 original Nike Air Force 180 High. Revive Customs not only did good work in the assembly process, but the choice of an AF180 Mid sole from 2006 paired with this OG style proves that the latter was inspired by this red and orange-accented design. These are right up there with the best sole swaps in terms of both integration and execution, not to mention likely being the most obscure ‘canvas’ for this kind of project we’ve seen to date; where does this pump-equipped Air Force 180 High compare to the other sole swaps we’ve showcased here on Sneaker News?

The initial Nike Air Force 1 Low carrying the Year of the Dragon moniker that dropped in 2012 was by all means a premium release, but for all its Zodiac goodness it skimped out on one of the most recognizable dragon-style design elements: the scales. The second go-round picks up the slack, lining the side panels with the reptilian clad look via a geometric design and laying a flashy colorway over the top as opposed to January’s mostly blacked out affair. Stay with us after the jump to see the official images of this Air Force 1 banger in all its glory. Also, be sure to circle your calender for the June 23rd release date (the same day as the Chinese holiday of the Dragon Boat Festival) for the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Year of the Dragon” part two.

In terms of historical significance there’s no real doubt over which Olympic tie in retro reigns supreme. With that being said these two trios are much more interested in catering to the contemporary, serving up a combination of the Nike Dunk High and the Nike Air Force 1 Low that owe their makeup to a couple of metropolitan spots across the globe that will serve as tour stops for this year’s World Basketball Festival. Washington, Barcelona, and the last stop of London all get one of each (our first looks at the London are right ahead), resulting in a total of six pairs to chase for your summer sneaker aspirations. Hit the jump with us to take a look at each individual style from the Nike Sportswear ‘World Basketball Festival’ pack and head over to Hanon now to pre-order any and all that you desire.
