Nike Air Force 180 High – 2012 Retro

It came as something of a surprise given all the attention lavished on Penny Hardaway retros and hybrids in recent months, but judging from the comments on our preview of Nike Sportswear’s Holiday 2012 basketball offerings, Sneaker News readers are just as excited for the return of The Admiral as more Lil Penny.  David Robinson’s Nike Air Force 180 High from 1991 reminds us of the ad where Moses Malone is said to gift them to Mr. Robinson for the latter’s birthday, though these retro releases will come without the original pressure fit system as we suspected from yesterday’s images.  Instead, we’ll get the OG colorup in what figures to be a much more affordable form, along with the new black edition pictured above that manages a strong throwback vibe thanks to intermingling purple and pink accents.  Check them out individually after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for release info.  via jshortt on NT

Nike Sky Force ’88 Low TXT – Soar + Black

Sneaker News just showed you a preview of the upcoming Sky Force 88 TXT in midtop form, a couple of vibrant nylon colorups done in today’s crisp colorblocking style. And though they don’t have the same immediate wow factor as the Action Red and Electric Green Mids, these new Nike Sky Force 88 Low TXT designs are indeed crafted from that same pattern. Monochromatic nylon builds give way to white on the lining and outsole of Black and Soar blue editions, but would you have wanted to see some high-energy designs in this bunch to match the Mids’ oomph? Let us know when you click through for more images and expect these at select Nike Sportswear retailers shortly. via Soleroom

Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid TXT – Action Red + Electric Green

The Nike Sky Force ’88 has been silent since the last of holiday 2011′s VNTG colorways, but here’s proof of at least two new upcoming pairs. A duo of new Sky Force midtops embraces the simple colorblocking that’s common to today and the time of its birth, though these pairs push way more to the 2012 side of things than those Vintage releases. All-over Action Red and Electric Green says quite a bit on paper, but even more on the nylon bodies of these designs you’ll see in greater detail after the jump. Let us know if you think you can pull off these boldly blocked Sky Force 88 Mids and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Soleroom

Nike Introduces Flyknit Technology

nike flyknit 4 Nike Introduces Flyknit Technology

Nike’s mission of building shoes from the ground up and around the anatomical shape of the human foot has been an endeavor that has been slowly perfected over the course of two decades. The goal of shaving off unnecessary weight and utilizing featherweight materials has been a concept evident as early as the Oregon Waffle, and even after thirty years of ideas and engineering, the all-new Nike Flyknit Racer shares the same epicenter of design keeping the pure needs of the racer at heart. Nike Flyknit technology is the result of a four-year mission of micro-engineering static properties into pliable materials, requiring an extensive team of programmers, engineers, and designers to create the proprietary technology needed to create the Flynit upper. The endgame? Creating the lightest, most precisely engineer running shoe Nike has ever made. Alongside the Nike Flyknit Racer (a marathon shoe), Nike will also release the Flyknit Trainer+, which weighs an astoundingly low 7.7 ounces. Expect the Nike Flyknit Racer and Flyknit Trainer+ to hit Nike retailers this July.

Nike Court Force High – Vintage Unreleased Sample

nike court force high vintage unreleased sample 1 Nike Court Force High Vintage Unreleased Sample

eBay has long been the place that sneakerheads turn to in order to fill the missing gaps in their collection. The vintage offerings are especially deep, and you’ve got a pretty decent chance at picking up that pair that you couldn’t convince your parents to cop back in the day. This one is a little different, a sample version of the Nike Court Force High from 1992 that never actually hit the shelves. The alterations from the original Nike Court Force High silhouette are tangible, with a more layered construction towards the back, a heavier perforated treatment on the midsection, and an overall taller silhouette showing up on this sample. The 1992 date attached is a bit curious, perhaps suggesting a scrapped reinterpretation of the Nike Court Force High. Whatever the story is behind them, they have definitely stood the test of time and you can see in the detailed pics after the jump. Even better, they are yours for the taking courtesy of aldy.everyday on eBay.

Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid ‘Hiker Pack’ – White – Grey Fleece

October 9th, 2011 by | 5 comments

nike sky force 88 mid white grey fleece 05 Nike Sky Force 88 Mid Hiker Pack White Grey Fleece

As it turns out, the ‘Hiker Pack’ lineup for the Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid runs a little deeper than we thought, with the clean white pair shown above set to hit shelves in the coming months as well. The choice of colors, or lack thereof, might not exactly exude that outerwear feel, but the d-ring lacing and metal eyelets are there all the same. Also the ankle material has been switched out, going for a warm fleece in place of the fuzzy wool that we saw on the other two ‘Hiker Pack’ models. Best of all may be pristine white soles, devoid of any pre-yellowing or faux vintage treatment. Check out the full pics of this Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid after the jump and grab em now from France’s SNKRS.

Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid – Hiker Pack

nike sky force mid 88 wool hiker preorder end summary Nike Sky Force 88 Mid Hiker Pack

The sneaker turned boot releases should be no surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention over here at Sneaker News, but we’ll admit that the choice of the Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid sorta comes out of left field. We’ll take it though, as this OG member of the Force family wears the look well, repping the metal eyelets and d-ring lacing on the top end. Beyond that the wool treatment paired with the rich dark suede gives them a sturdy feel, something we haven’t seen before on the Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid. We’ve got full pics of both shoes from the upcoming ‘Hiker Pack’, so have a look at those after the jump. And remember that UK’s End Clothing has them up now for preorder.
