If you had to pick out the best sneaker from each individual year going back two and a half decades, which would you select? Complex decided to do that, compiling the results in a feature they’re calling the 25 Best Sneakers of the Past 25 Years. There are some that probably aren’t too debatable (Air Jordan III anyone?), but the list is far from textbook and definitely contains a few left field nods as a Supra is selected and a trail-ready Nike Free model shows up. Get a quick sample from the list after the jump then see Complex for the full feature.

The ladies-only TR Fit series has been a big hit over the past three years and now Nike Training adds a new WMNS model to its ranks. The Nike WMNS Free TR Connect can be seen as another sign of the TR Fit line’s success, its low-profile barefoot-soled design adding Dynamic Flywire to stand out from its predecessors. A Moire-ish dotted upper and multicolor outsole also add to the TR Connect’s novelty quotient; how do they compare to the thoroughly revitalized and robust Swoosh cross-training lineup?

Nike Sportswear has a Liberty London collaboration on the way with a multicolor staticky print; here’s what happens if you limit a pattern like that to just the shade shared in common with this new pair’s midsole. The Nike WMNS Free 5.0 V4 pictured above mixes Total Crimson and black on the textured upper, along with an off-white kiss from Sail on the Swooshes, laces and Free sole. These’ll be up at select NSW stores come May, so get ready to decide whether it’s these or the Libertys for you with the aid of additional images below.

The Nike WMNS Free 5.0 V4 continues to be a popular option, as two new colorways bring the total utilizing this texture to three. These latest Free 5.0 V4s go in an abstract direction not totally dissimilar from the summer 2013 Liberty collabo, but instead of a melange of different colors, these are separated out into just Hyper/Ice Blues or Pink Force plus Sail. The result is a staticky mix somewhere between a marble notebook and Nike’s classic speckle print, so have a closer look at both pairs below, then pre-order yours before they ship this April from Titolo.

The first of Liberty London’s spring 2013 Nike Sportswear collaborations was revealed before anyone knew who created it. The Liberty x Nike WMNS Free 5.0 V4 is still pending in the Denise Eva material that marked the first quarter’s collabs, and now we see the next pattern in line ready for May. The Hyper Blue, Sail, black and Total Crimson color code doesn’t tell the full story on this rainbow-dotted Free 5.0 V4, a design somewhere between a multicolor wool and pixellated static. Let us know how they compare to the Air Max 1s also slated to drop in a couple months and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.
