The ‘Original 7′ Nike Dunks forever linked Arizona, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, St. Johns, UNLV and Villanova with the expression ‘Be True to Your School’. No longer just a lesser single from The Beach Boys, ‘Be True’ stood for a certain style of two-toned colorblocking that’s been the Dunk’s default for over a quarter-century. And when that style collides with NIKEiD, not only can you pick whichever colors you want to use, but you can also define your own ‘school spirit’ with a new blocking pattern of your choice. The Nike Dunk ‘Be True’ iD features options ranging from classic BTTYS-style varsity colors all the way to glossy metallics and all of them can be personalized with heel detailing. Check out some samples below and let us know which palette you chose to build your ‘Be True’ Dunk iDs.

The Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke Design Experience conjures up an unfamiliar outbreak of emotion that very few moments in ‘sneaker history’ can – and it’s most likely because it’s about more than just the shoes. If you can remember the first time you tried on a pair of kicks you were hell-bent on finding or when you serendipitously stumbled upon one of your holy grails during a random late-night search through eBay, then you might just grasp what David Mettoudi, the designer behind this latest Bespoke project, was feeling before, during, and after his session.
This design started with Mettoudi’s desire for pink, black, and grey, and what resulted was a clean and simple colorway that features a unique alternate color-blocking on the lateral and medial sidewalls of the shoe. Aside from the denim, the material used was a soft stone suede, which was a mutual decision between Mettoudi and Bespoke Design Specialist Iz Mateo. Mettoudi briefly and profoundly describes his session with Mateo as “an experience” and that “sharing the thrill” carries as much significance as the shoes do. We’re glad David had the opportunity to tell his story, and you can script your own Bespoke tale by visiting the Nike Sportswear Bespoke Studio at 21 Mercer in New York City.

What’s next for the Zoom Kobe VII? Nike iD has done a phenomenal job with stretching out the design options for the sneaker as it now introduces the ‘Two Tone’ option for the upper. In addition to the solid, Fade, and Poison Dart Frog option, the Two Tone allows for a distinct base layer with black on the outermost layer. Seen here in the stunning Black/Volt colorway, the Nike Zoom Kobe VII iD just got a bit more exciting to play around with, so check out some of the sample shots below and head on over to Nike iD now to design your pair.

Nike Sportswear had several major anniversaries to celebrate in 2012, so they started with the most senior and the Air Force 1′s 30th got all the attention early. The Uptown movement is still strong as we move into the warmer months, but just as more folks will be outside enjoying the weather, it’s natural to shift toward running and training designs. The Air Max 1 has initiated a little push of its own in commemoration of 25 years, but it’s another 1987-born runner that’s arguably stealing the show by joining forces with a variety of other models. Its namesake print appeared on the Air Force 1 iD, just reminded us that this is also the Air Trainer 1′s quarter-century milestone and now the Nike Air Safari is ready for its own run on NIKEiD. The Swoosh online customization Safari has a $135 admission fee but the details are still somewhat mysterious, so click through for more, let us know what kinds of looks you have in mind and stick with Sneaker News for more details.

Kobe often goes to his Fade Option for his jumper in games, but if we’re talking about his shoes, we’re pointing at the sick gradient selection for the Kobe iD shoes that just became available. It was first introduced with the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, and since then, the gradient fade option has been one of the more popular customizable options in the following signature models, and as we get a look at some completed samples of the Kobe VII iD Fade Options, it’s clear we have another winner in our hands. Check out the samples below and head to Nike iD to get your own.

The Nike Air Force 1‘s 30th anniversary blowout has included plenty of new options on the NIKEiD side of things, including everything from ballistic nylon to Elephant and Safari prints. The new drop for May also comes with a distinctive material, but it’s not quite like anything we’ve seen on the Air Force 1 iD before. The ’10th Mtn Division’ Air Force 1 iD is pictured above in an earthy combination of vintage canvas and rough grain leather and looks so good we can’t help but wonder which other colors might be available when these arrive on May 1st. Click through to see some other angles, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for more ’10th Mtn Division’ samples.

As late as last December, the threat of a complete cancellation of the NBA season was looming. Would we be deprived of seeing the world’s greatest stars in action? In a fortuitous turn of events, the players and owners finally came to an agreement, and a rigorous schedule of sixty-six games in a span of 124 days was set in stone. While it took a toll on some players (back-to-back-to-back games will do that to a guy), it was certainly a treat for fans of NBA Feet, as we pumped out a consistent group of impressive on-court sneaker sightings on a regular basis. If you couldn’t keep up with Sneaker News’ pace, we’ve decided to compile to best NBA Feet of the 2011-2012 Season, so check out the NBA Feet: Best Of The 2011-2012 Season below and stay tuned for a complete NBA Feet Awards feature soon!
