emerald nike air command force A Detailed Look at the Nike Air Command Force Emerald

This year’s return of the original Nike Air Command Force might be tougher to track down that you’d originally assumed. At least for the “Emerald” colorway, it appears that there is a version on the way that will be limited to just 50 pairs. We can only assume that won’t be the case for each of the pairs coming back out of the archives though – it wouldn’t really make sense in terms of cost to resurrect this silhouette only to make a couple hundred pairs total. Continue reading to see how the shoes are shaping up, including the slick black box that they’ll arrive in, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for a release date on these David Robinson classics.

One sneaker to keep an eye on this Holiday 2014 season is the Air Command Force Retro, a sneaker revived from the vaults in its original form – pump module and all. We recently showed you the original Volt and an enticing new “Spurs” rendition, but many were asking the whereabouts of the Teal pair that David Robinson wore during the sneaker’s debut run. These latest images of the Air Command Force in that “Emerald” suit reveal one frightening detail – a label on the inner face of the tongue that may allude to only 50 pairs being made (Robinson’s jersey number with the Spurs). Let’s hope that isn’t the case, so check back with us for updates on this anticipated Retro release and we’ll give you all the new on the Command Force that you need.

Before their was Air Max there was just Air technology. The gas encapsulated in polyurethane on the shoe’s base became a staple for the Swoosh thanks to inventor M. Frank Rudy, but it wasn’t displayed until Tinker designed the Air Max 1. The first shoe to implement the technology was the Nike Air Tailwind, and that fact can’t be overlooked. Today the shoe continues to be retroed featuring that nylon upper in a number of vibrant colorways, as this Vivid Sulfur/Action Red pair proves that the shoe can hold down some new shades. Somewhere out there, a brand is celebrating some form of a retro runner’s anniversary. For the Nike Air Pegasus ’83, that celebration ended with the turn into 2014, but the sneaker has seemingly stuck around to bring us colorway after colorway this year. Perhaps that has to do with how diverse the model can be in terms of flexibility when it comes to material mock ups, as we’ve seen the shoe carry mesh as a base, suede, and even nylon. The latest ditches traditionalism for a textured look thats near Jacquard in style while a dark Cedar base that serves to bring out that Hyper Crimson heel. What do you think? Stay tuned for a release date, or jump the gun on this pair by picking them up via Titolo right now.

30 years and counting for the Nike Air Pegasus can only mean that the sneaker has seen an infinite amount of color combinations and material match ups in its three decade run. The running silhouette has had a longer tenure than nearly every swoosh line, and had the Air technology added to it in the late 80s to give it a needed upgrade. Now the shoe occupies the lifestyle realm, and this Dark Obsidian, Hyper Turquoise pair continues that tradition. Are you feeling this colorway? Be sure to check out more images after the break and know that this pair is available right now from overseas spots like Titolo.

2014 has been a great year for fans of the Nike Air Huarache. The 1991 classic returned in glorious form over the summer as it saw a passionate fan base clamber for more of the Tinker Hatfield silhouette, but back when it first hit retail shelves, the model saw more of a lukewarm, Love/Hate relationship with the public. Europe has been holding down the Air Huarache for quite some time, but this stateside release of the Love/Hate Pack , one that stands out thanks to vibrant hits of University Red, should cement the pair’s influential summer with an exclamation point. The release date has jumped around a bit, but you can secure your pair on September 20th (although they’re available right now on eBay here and here). More official photos after the break.
