Nike Air Raid GS – Black – Dark Grey

The Nike Air Raid’s resurgence this summer has been a noteworthy return to form for a basketball retro initially marketed as a sneaker for outdoor use only. The warmer months of 2014 have been kind to the 90s silhouette, as the likes of that Duke referencing pair surfaced, an enticing collaboration with Pigalle appeared, and the original Nike Air Raid “Peace” reminded everyone of that 1992 commercial featuring Spike Lee and Tim Hardaway. Today we get a look at a simplistic black and grey pair for the kids featuring an added speckling on the midsole while a patent leather finish adds some diversity to the x-strapped classic. See below the click for a better view and grab a pair via comet_trail_sports on eBay.

There are more blackout styles on the way for the Nike Huarache line. Coming as the spiritual successor to the Nike Air Huarache “Blackout” is this women’s pair, which remains just as committed to the lights out look while bringing in some safari dotting on a couple of the upper’s panels. It looks like the UK will get the first crack at them, as stores like Footpatrol and Size? will be selling them come this Saturday in women’s sizes from UK4 – UK9.5 for £85 (Both will have them in store and online at 8AM BST that day). Take another look at the “Black Safari” Huaraches below and tell us if you’ll be buying.

Nike Air Tech Challenge II – Burgundy – Black

nike air tech challenge ii burgundy black Nike Air Tech Challenge II Burgundy Black

It was rather refreshing this week to see the tennis shoe hype focused on a modern design, the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour’s Jordan 3 remix, rather than the typical retro silhouettes. Again attempting to pull your attention back towards the past is the resurfacing of this Nike Air Tech Challenge II pair in burgundy and black. We’ve come to expect this sneaker to be dipped in brighter tones to reflect Agassi’s wild style, but this time around it goes the opposite way with its darker palette. Have a good look at the shoes below and feel free to import them from 43 Einhalb if you’re getting tired of waiting for the US drop.

Berlin has got a slot in the new “City Pack” of Nike Huaraches. So far the group also includes Milan and Paris – will it only be European cities that get referenced with this group of special releases from Nike Sportswear? While US heads might be a little miffed if that ends up being the case, it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary given the slightly more celebrated status of silhouettes like the Nike Air Huarache over in Europe. Check out the “Berlin” Huaraches with us below the fold and keep it locked here for release info.

Nike Brings Back The Original Aloha

nike aloha retro 3 Nike Brings Back The Original Aloha

Making its return this year will be the Nike Aloha, one of the first models from the Swoosh that really experimented with graphics across the upper. The model originally hails from the mid 80s back when Nike was still making sneakers in Korea. The three colorways lined up for a 2014 return are actually all original ones, and while the colors manage to match up pretty closely, the flower patterns used aren’t exactly spot on. Check the other two with us by looking at what’s lined up below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more on the return of the Nike Aloha.

The shoe will pose a challenge to many when it makes its triumphant 2014 return – we’ve got a feeling that a good number of you will be daunted by the tall, chunky model that will look just a little out of place in this world of lightweight/smaller shoes like the ZX Flux and the Nike Roshe Run.
