Nike SB – April 2010 Releases | Available Early

One-fourth of this year is almost behind us, with April and its seasonal showers right around the corner, so check out the four new SBs that Nike has in store for us. Two great colorways of the Nike SB Blazer arrives, with one in a matte silver upper with a textured obsidian swoosh and red NIKE print on the heel, and another black colorway that are similar to the Nike SB Dunk High ‘Fog’. Speaking of Dunks, a Dunk Low in another patriotic red-white-blue colorway is expected, with a Dark Army SB Classic releasing alongside. The aforementioned April 2010 SB releases are available early at Flatspot.

Sneaker News March Madness Sneaker Tournament – Round 1 Voting – Nike Dunk SB Bracket

The final bracket for the Sneaker News March Madness Sneaker Tournament is now open for live voting. Day 4 brings us the Nike Dunk SB region, featuring some of the most beloved and creative designs to ever come out of Nike’s skateboarding division. Already, Round 1 should present some head-scratching decisions, although there are a few strong favorites in the mix. Nike SB Dunk Low Quickstrike – Larry Perkins

Is this upcoming Nike SB Dunk under the Witness Protection Program? First off, the “Chirping Bird” name has been changed; this upcoming Quickstrike has been renamed to Larry Perkins, the name of the skater that inspired the colorway. Secondly, the Larry Perkins Nike SB Dunk underwent a transplant as the Chirping Bird mechanism as been replaced by one that makes telephone ringing sounds, as Larry Perkins was known to be dialing up other skate-pros and magazines. The overall design, colorway, and material use remains, but the identity has seen a vast alteration. These are expected to drop on March 20th at select Nike SB retailers, so have your local Nike SB spot on speed dial and lock down your pair. via Martini.

Nike SB Quickstrikes – Dunk Low ‘Wallenburg’ + Blazer High – Available Tomorrow

Supra isn’t the only skateboarding sneaker company who’s keyed in on tomorrow’s holiday. Nike SB is set to drop two Quickstrike releases on St. Patrick’s Day in the form of the ‘Wallenburg’ SB Dunk Low and one of the craziest Blazer High SBs we’ve seen in a while. The Blazers mix blue striping into Zebra’d side panels, while the Dunks are unique for commemorating the SF steps for which they were named by coloring in half of the midsole. Atlas will have these at 11am tomorrow morning.

Dinosaur Jr. x Nike SB Omar Salazar Pro Model

If you want the Dinosaur Jr. x Nike SB Dunk Highs from 2007, be prepared to shell out upwards of 5 bills for a deadstock pair. How much their latest collaboration will sell for, largely depends upon its availability. The Dinosaur Jr. x Nike SB Omar Salazar Pro Model has a shiny upper just like the Dunk SBs, but they ended up totally different. Instead of metallic silver, this pair is covered in a super-shiny patent leather with hologram speckling. The Salazar’s signature Flywire heels are conspicuously absent from this pair, but a Dinosaur Jr. insignia fills the area nicely. Nike SB Dunk High – 4th of July/Born in the USA

However unfortunate, the first thing that comes to most people’s minds when hearing ‘New Jersey’ these days, is the cast of MTV’s massive hit reality show. That situation might change, cos Nike SB has something special planned for this summer that brings together some of the region’s key influences.

The Nike SB Dunk High NJ/USA appears to be a take-off on the iconic cover from Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album, Born in the USA. This pair of SB Dunk Highs goes with a darker denim than what the Boss was wearing, but the striped rear panel clearly echoes that photo’s American flag background. So by using black, Nike SB managed to make a shoe that’s ‘patriotic’ without going the cheesy route. Sneaker News March Madness Sneaker Tournament – Selection Monday

As promised, the 2010 Sneaker News March Madness Sneaker Tournament is kicking off today. Live voting for the first round will begin tonight, but just like the NCAA tournament, we’re giving you a sneak preview of the brackets ahead of time, so you can start making your own predictions. As you can see, the selections have been made and split up into four categorical sections. Facing off for sneaker supremacy this year will be some very strong competitors from the Air Jordan, Nike Retro, Air Force 1 and Nike SB regions, with only one shoe from each moving on to eventual Final Four glory. Nike SB’s newest team member Omar Salazar just had his signature shoe released not too long ago. But what makes this latest Nike SB jump up a few cool points is that he dipped his own hand in the design process. What he wanted out of Nike was based on drawings and sketches he did of his own shoe. In a nutshell? Classic and futuristic. The Nike SB Omar Salazar features a classic and rugged skate-shoe design but with Nike’s latest technology. Classics Revisited: Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High

In 2002, Supreme thrust itself into the sneaker sub-culture with a classic collaboration with the newly created skateboarding division of Nike, creating the elephant-print-laden Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low. The following year, Supreme reigned once again with a trio of the Nike SB Dunk High inspired by the idea behind the Be True To Your School series; the three colorways – Orange, Red, and Blue – were impeccably fashioned with croc skin, a sea of gold stars, and Supreme lace dubraes.

The three SB Dunk Highs – the second overall Supreme x Nike SB collaboration – were available exclusively in limited supply at Supreme in New York City during a three-day release event, during which one colorway was released per day. Double-dipping wasn’t allowed either, as Supreme limited just one pair per buyer. The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High is truly a classic, with the release camp-out being one of the most memorable moments of sneaker-head history. Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar Release Party Recap

The Nike SB Omar Salazar is the latest addition to the SB family, so Nike threw a party in family reunion fashion on Monday night in San Francisco to honor the Bay-Area skater and his new sig shoe. Tons of Salazar’s friends and family were in attendance to celebrate his newly released signature shoe with Nike. The Salazar features a dedicated-skater design with the option to go fat-tongue or slim (a recent topic of controversy involving the SB Dunk). Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar – Welcome to Outerspace

Skateboard video shot with a fisheye lens. Nothing revolutionary there, right? ‘Welcome to Outerspace’ starring Nike SB’s Omar Salazar is anything but your average grindfest. Have you ever seen a skate set that was custom built to convey the otherworldly design of a sneaker like the new Nike SB Omar Salazar Pro Model?

The Omar Salazar SB is about as high-tech as it gets; we’ve never seen a skate shoe with Flywire or an ankle lockdown system quite like this. The video perfectly illustrates how this is all at once something that’s retro-futuristic and totally contemporary. This shoe and its promo video are pushing the skate sneaker envelope, so we’re excited to see how far it can go.
