Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Shrimp’ – Available

Flagged as the first Quickstrike release for Nike Skateboarding in 2012, the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Shrimp’ made some interesting waves among our SB fans when we first previewed it just two weeks ago. Besides the clear representation of the ‘shrimp on the barbie’ with the embroidered on the heel and the special tongue label, there isn’t much to be extrapolated from this funky release except for the fact that they are arriving at select Nike SB retailers. DQM in New York City just got in a very limited stock of these, so check with your local Nike SB purveyor for availability and let us know what you think of this interesting release.

Nike SB Stefan Janoski ‘Bonsai’ 4/20

Nike SB has tended toward toned-down looks for a good while now, but one drop that’s sure to garner a ton of attention each year is the shoe set to release on and thematically represent a certain notorious day two-thirds of the way through April. The past two years have given us Todd Bratrud’s ‘Skunk’ and ‘Cheech and Chong’ Dunk High SBs on 4/20, but this time around Swoosh skateboarding looks within to find inspiration from a classic silver box drop of the lowtop version. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski will release in a green-outlined, gum-soled white suede design reminiscent of August oh-four’s hemp-uppered ’Bonsai’ Dunk Low Pro SB, but will they excite rebellious skaters as much as the Bratrud designs? Entourage x Nike SB Dunk Low – Latest Release Rumors

We just mentioned Todd Bratrud’s ‘Cheech and Chong’ Dunk High SB from last spring in reference to the upcoming ‘Bonsai’ Stefan Janoskis, but this model pictured above has it all over that pair when it comes to drama surrounding its release. The Entourage x Nike SB Dunk Low Premium ‘Lights Out’ has managed to outlive the hit HBO series, and with more delays and confusion than possibly any other single shoe in history, we wouldn’t blame you for being skeptical about new word of an eventual retail release. But that’s exactly what just happened when Northampton, Mass’ Unite reported that they’ll have a Quickstrike release in March or April of this year, just about a year after the ‘Entourage’ LeBron 8 V/2s dropped in 2011. Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Sunburst Mint’ Customs by Sharp020

Never content to just slap some paint on a sneaker and call it a custom, Sharp020 has proven his acumen again and again via a slick skill set of embroidery and sew-work. Take his latest creation, this minty fresh pair with a cool sunburst array of lines radiating out from the side swoosh. The inside gets quite the upgrade as well, featuring a soft quilted look that is generally reserved for top-tier Supreme collabos. Sharp020 really makes the pair his own, even going so far as to replace the ‘Nike’ branding throughout with his own stamp of approval (peep the custom tongue tag). Nike SB Dunk Mid – Black – Medium Mint – Sea Crystal

The Nike SB Dunk Mid is set to reintroduce its once-defining ankle strap in the second half of this year, but before we revisit the original midtop silhouette, how about a journey back in time to a (couple of) colorway(s) that made its mark just a (couple of) year(s) before the Mid debuted. This Dunk Mid Pro SB in black, Medium Mint and Sea Crystal not only brings back the signature teal shade from a 2004 High that’s going for around 4x its box price these days, but also evokes memories of the immortal ‘Tiffany’ colorup from Diamond Supply Co. that we’ve seen replicated on so many Nike SB releases in recent years. Nike SB Koston 1 – Tar – Redwood

Included among the recently distributed February 2012 Nike SB footwear collection was an Eric Koston signature done in the simplest of all colorways. That black/white getup is fairly similar to the Pimento-accented edition from last summer, just without the red, kinda like how the latest Nike SB Koston 1 sees its palette separated from one of February’s Dunk Low SBs by mere degrees. Both the Tar and Redwood shades come off a bit earthier than the somewhat ‘Grit’-like Iron and Barn red used on that Dunk, so Swoosh skateboarding is covering all their bases when it comes to warmly organic lowtops as we wrap up the winter.
