Are you ready for the P-Rod 7 launch on July 5th? Paul Rodriguez’ seventh Nike Skateboarding signature is aside from the Lunar Rod the most overt expression of LunarLon in P-Rod’s series to date, but if you were looking to hide the space age cushion within a more traditional skate build, look no further than Paul’s own line. The Nike P-Rod 5 LR in Dark Grey adds a Gum Medium Brown vulc sole, which conceals the namesake cushion within a sole the likes of which skaters have been riding for fifty years. More photos follow the jump below, then you can grab a ‘Dark Grey’ P-Rod V LR at shops like Premier.

Even with his seventh Nike Skateboarding signature shoe right around the corner, Paul Rodriguez still has one version of his fifth in circulation. The Nike P-Rod V LR represents the marriage between a classic vulcanized sole and Nike’s cutting edge LunarLon cushioning platform. This latest colorway implements a rarely seen feature for this silhouette, as the Squadron Blue suede upper is held together with a white contrast stitch. It’s got a sort of inverted blueprint look that works well with Pimento Swooshes and foxing, and you can find your pair available today at Premier.

LunarLon has played a key role in the Nike Skateboarding P-Rod line over the past three years, and on no model is that more evident than this overt expression of the technology as seen on Nike Running releases. The Nike Lunar Rod shows up in a new makeup today, a subtly vibrant mix that sandwiches Medium Grey in Bright Citrus and an equally vivid blue shade. The overall design is somewhere between the Safari-printed debut and the subtler recent colorways; let us know how they compare after seeing more below, then grab yours straight from NikeStore.

The Nike Paul Rodriguez signature line is ready to roll seven models deep as we get a first look at a high-top version of the Nike P-Rod 7. There’s a clear ‘Retro’ inspiration to this design, mixing in some newer LunarLon tech with a silhouette that sprinkles in some Dunk High curvature (accentuated by the OG ‘Goldenrod’ colorway) for what wraps up to be the closest thing to an updated Dunk we’ve ever seen. Some other details like the unique graphic applique on the heel, the leather/suede mix on the upper, and the perforations in key areas on the toe and upper (Nike P-Rods are always well ventilated). We’ve got a full gallery of the upcoming P-Rod VII so check out the gallery below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for U.S. release information.

Paul Rodriguez has more Nike Skateboarding signature models currently circulating at retail than any other rider in history. Part of this shotgun approach is updating instant classic silhouettes with new bottoms, the vulc-sole swap-out being the P-Rod line’s M.O. It started with the 2.5 and spawned a few more, but the Nike Paul Rodriguez V LR takes it a step further by adding a LunarLon footbed for a perfect combination of comfort and boardfeel. Here we see the first lowtop P-Rod 5 LR since last March’s black/white debut, an aggressive gum-soled design that utilizes the Hyper Red shade that owns the -600s this season. Check out more photos below, then grab yours at SB shops like Premier.
