Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 – Medium Grey – Black – Pink Foil

As we saw in preview images last month, the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 is subtly shifting its alignment with the Premium suffix.  When P-Rod 7s first hit, the Premiums were easy enough to spot at first glance, because it was these pairs that featured a tonal zebra stripe pattern at the toe and heel.  That might still be true, but what we’re seeing here today is proof that the general releases are also picking up just a bit of the animal action.  This new one in grey and black with pink pops uses the striped pattern just at the heel, which nicely sets off this low-key yet expressive palette.  Take a closer look at more photos below, then pick up a pair at SB shops like Flatspot.

This point in the product cycle has us wondering if the hightop version is still on its way, but there’s no shortage of colorways for the low cut Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7.  Moving quickly with several colorways in just over a month, the P-Rod 7 will soon add to its ranks a couple of new styles that are shown below alongside the Sail, Black and University Red release.  One makes the most of its Premium status in black and gold, while the other finds its Zebra markings in the supporting role while bright pink pops from the grey/black base.  Let us know which of these you like best after you’ve seen them all below, and stick with Sneaker News to find out when all Nike SB shoes release.

Nike Lunar Rod – Team Red – University Gold

The leaves will start changing colors, and along with them, what you might consider the new national pastime kicks off another season of football. Flashy teams like the Washington Redskins and USC Trojans are known for their seasonally appropriate burgundy and gold getups, and with Paul Rodriguez sharing a Southern California home with the latter, it’s only natural that the color scheme gets paired with his boundary crossing runner. The Nike Lunar Rod in Team Red reminds us of the 2009 ‘USC’ SB Blazer, serving as a thoroughly modern answer to the Blazer’s vintage styling. It’s up for grabs now at select SB retailers, so take a closer look below, then grab yours from shops like Premier.

It’s easy to spot the Nike SB P-Rod 7 Premium colorways as opposed to general releases: just look for the tonal tiger stripes.  Paul Rodriguez’ seventh Nike Skateboarding signature model has the animal motif at the heart of its PRM drops, as in the case of this Armory Slate, black and white makeup.  These have tonal blue striping on the overlay sections, a black base layer and white midsole for a steely high contrast look, and you can check out their good looks below before you feel the LunarLon performance in a new pair from stores like Flatspot.

It looks like the vulcanized sole version of the Nike Paul Rodriguez 7 is finally hitting stores as we get a first look at the Matte Silver/White colorway of this alternate version of the P-Rod 7. The vulcanized sole features some toe foxing with the safari-style print seen on the uppers of the Premium trim, but the remainder of the shoe is true to the 7 design. Peep the additional angles below and stay tuned for more availability at Nike SB retailers worldwide because they’re available now at Size? in the UK.

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 – Black – White

Paul Rodriguez’ Nike SB signature line has issued a new shoe each year for a while now, but if there is ever to be an ‘All Day Every Day’ colorway on his seventh, this would be it. Taking on the palette that keeps coming around on Dunks and Blazers is the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 in black suede and leather plus white accents. These eschew the P-Rod 7 PRM’s tiger stripes in favor of a more classical approach that still has all the advantages of a LunarLon sole setup. Check out more images below, then grab them at shops like Paul’s own Primitive.

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 – Sail – Black – University Red

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 Sail Black University Red

Paul Rodriguez is the longest tenured Nike SB signature rider and just celebrated the release of his seventh pro model (though it’s well into the double-digits if you count the vulc soled pairs and other variations). His Nike SB P-Rod 7 is the product of those many years of refinement, as we see a resemblance to your traditional skate shoe, but with the kind of attention to detail that can only come from that extensive development process. This Sail suede and leather colorway is a great choice for the rest of the summer and you can see more images after the jump before buying at SB shops like Rodriguez’ own Primitive.
