In addition to the USA “United We Rise” PE’s and Pau Gasol PE’s we just showed you, Nike has also debuted the Puerto Rico Hyperdunk PE that features a patent leather toe area in the Puerto Rican Blue. The tongue of this shoe also has some direct links to the PR with an actual Puerto Rican flag sewn onto it and “Puerto Rico” in script sewn on the inside of the shoes. A nice clean colorway that definitely makes a statement as we see this shoe on the feet of various Puerto Rican national team members. You can check these out at The Commitment.

The Nike Hyperdunk as we all know by now is probably one of the best Nike basketball shoes that we’ve seen from the Swoosh in a long time, from aesthetics to technology to performance the shoe has it all. As we get closer and closer to the Olympics in Beijing, Nike is unveiling a number of Player Exclusive’s (PE’s) that they’ve created specifically for their best players, of which includes Los Angeles Lakers’ star Pau Gasol who will also be representing his native country of Spain this August in Olympic Competition. Go take a look at these for yourself in addition to some other dope Hyperdunks’ at the Nike Basketball exhibition.

Nike Basketball - United We Stand Collection

At a recent exhibition put on by Nike Basketball known as “The Commitment,” a number of new PE’s for the United States Olympic team were unveiled. With a new “United We Rise” pattern and laser-etched logo decorating these sick kicks, they definitely make quite the visual impact. Among them were new variations on the LeBron Zoom Soldier II, the infamous Hyperdunk, and the Air Force 25. The pattern covering each pair of shoes consists of smaller images relating back to the players on the Olympic team, and is done in a reflective, laser-etched style. With these technologically advanced, stylistically sound shoes on their feet, the United States Olympic Basketball team is quite well equipped to take home the gold this year! A very limited number of these PE’s will drop at House of Hoops in late July; if you want to see them in person, feel free to drop by the exhibition in New York City if you’re in the area.

 hyperdunk-kobe.jpg

With the sample Kobe Bryant PE Olympic Hyperdunk’s posted on the site a little over a month ago, Nike has decided to go futher with the shoe as far as the detailing.  The sneaker is the same navy blue on white colorway and still features the Kobe logo on the tongue and his number sewn on the medial part of the shoe, but the designers at Nike have now added a black striped area around his number, and a detailed laser of a black mamba on the toe box.  Around the ankle is a black and white snake scale design which meets a navy blue, mesh tongue.  The shoes are now available at Marquee Sole. via Niketalk

Nike Zoom Kobe III SL - LA Lakers MVP PE

Despite the Lakers’ recent complete and utter trouncing by the Celtics (to the joy of all the Boston residents out there, and the shame of all the Angelinos), there’s still plenty of fire in the team; don’t forget, they DID make it to the playoffs, and have been a dominating force in the NBA for several years. This can be in large part chalked up to the overbearing presence of Kobe Bryant, arguably the most famous Laker in history. For all those who have confidence that the Lakers will indeed take the title next season, led by the indomitable Mr. Bryant, these Zoom Kobe III’s might be just the thing. Commemorating Kobe’s status as the Laker MVP, these PE’s are a great representation of Kobe’s presence as the regular season MVP for the Lakers, as well as a fresh pair of kicks. Nike Zoom Kobe 3 - Tamika Catchings PE

Images of Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever, the WNBA team, wearing her Kobe 3 PE’s have recently surfaced. Done out in a red, white, and yellow colorway reflecting her team’s colors, these kicks are a great colorway for a very popular performance basketball shoe. Despite the lower profile of the WNBA to the mainstream NBA, these kicks are proof that Nike is still willing to show love to players of all genders. These are for now a player’s exclusive meant only for the player herself, but expect them to somehow eventually pop up on the internet. Via Kenlu.

Nike Hyperdunk - China Olympics - Yi Jianlian - Now Available

Last month, Sneaker News was the first to bring you first and official look at the Yi Jianlian Nike Hyperdunk, now a month later, you can pick up a pair of your own. Last month on May 13th, 2008, in Beijing, Nike officially announced the uniforms of the China Federations and Yi was there wearing his Hyperdunk which matches the Chinese Basketball Uniform. This edition of the Hyperdunk features the Yi Logo on the tongue and the number 11 in the inner toe area. Just as a refresher, the Hyperdunk combines two new Nike innovations: Flywire technology and Lunarlite foam. Flywire redefines footwear construction, shaving off weight and adding strength, allowing athletes to be lighter on their feet and faster on the track and on the court. Lunarlite foam features a unique cell structure making it lightweight and ultra responsive as a cushioning system. Photos: RMK Store on eBay

Air Jordan XX3 - JBAAC PE’s

Here’s a quick preview from this month’s Slam Magazine of the 2008 Jordan Brand All-American Classic Player Editions. Note the red and blue colorways denoting the opposing teams in the t. Naturally, these kicks are only for the players participating in the game, and aren’t for sale to the public at large. It’s a shame that such clean colorways will never see the light of day for us, the common shoeheads at large, but it’s definitely a tribute to the young athletes involved in this game that they will receive such a beautiful pair of kicks. Hopefully, these will spawn similar colorways of the XX3 in the future, for those of us who won’t be lucky enough to snag a pair when they make their inevitable drop on eBay. From this month’s Slam Magazine.
