Maybe we should start calling these the ‘Right Now Before It’s Too Late of Flight’, because if you don’t act quickly, these are indeed going to be history. Right as we’ve started to see preview images of a similarly-colored take on the Air Jordan XI low, the ultra exclusive promo samples curated as part of the ‘History of Flight’ touring exhibition have made their way onto the secondary market. The Air Jordan X pictured above follows the IV, VII, VIII, XII and XIV in leaking from the supremely limited ‘History of Flight’ AJ SMUs, and these offer an interesting contrast when compared to the ‘Chicago’ OG that is arguably 2012′s single biggest sneaker release to date. A colorway like this would produce an instant sellout at retail, but do you have the resources necessary to procure this particular pair before the close of this extended auction from btn_16 on eBay?

John Lucas III isn’t exactly a snowman (he did drop 60 at the Rucker this summer, after all), but he most definitely got frozen as LeBron James submitted a potental career-best dunk on Sunday night. And with LeBron himself subsequently patting Blake Griffin on the back for what might be the best slam of this young decade, we’re moving into February with more dunking momentum than any year since Vinsanity competed in the Slam Dunk Contest. With that in mind, it’s a perfect time for Foot Locker’s ‘Hottest Month Ever’, a campaign that kicks off with the ‘Abominable Dunkman’ commercial showing how the Nike LeBron 9 and a snow covered court can result in your own reenactment of the VC-over-Fred Weis poster. Frosty the Snowman was a jolly happy soul and probably didn’t deserve this kind of abuse, but it makes for an interesting video, and you can see the ad in full after the jump.

“I’m back on the hardwood, so my job here at Foot Locker is going to be terminated.”
New York Knicks power forward Amar’e Stoudemire followed in the footsteps of arguably the greatest player ever at his position, when this summer during the NBA lockout, STAT took up work at a NY-area Foot Locker store. Donning the black and white stripes is probably a bit easier than exploiting your height by changing lightbulbs and rescuing cats from trees, but just as the 1998 labor dispute had Tim Duncan eschewing odd jobs for his first NBA championship, Amar’e has put in his notice with FL so he can get back to business at MSG. Click through to see the exit interview and let us know if Amar’e deserves your 2012 NBA All-Star Game vote.

“On 1.19.12 Nike will launch a revolutionary product designed for all kinds of playmakers.”
Just after the turn of the year, Nike posed the question, “How will you #makeitcount in 2012?” The Swoosh’s new Twitter account means we can expect all kinds of new developments on the world’s favorite microblogging platform, and now we’re standing on the precipice of what this campaign means with a big announcement coming up later this week. On January 19th, we can look forward to something innovative, and if it weren’t for this video featuring a huge variety of athletes, the ‘+’ insignia might have you thinking this will be a Nike Running annoucement. But with everyone from skateboarders to Kevin Durant spliced into the teaser video you’ll see after the jump, it’s truly a mystery what’s in store. Click through to see the clip and stick with Sneaker News for Thursday’s big story.

“Where do you go from the top? You go . . . over the top.”
And what if you’re already really successful? Just thank Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba formally welcomed us to the #KobeSystem over the weekend in a tongue-in-cheek setting that blends a Tony Robbins-style motivational speech with a bit of Oprah under-your-seat giveaway. Tony himself was on hand, as were a bunch of other extremely successful folks like Sir Richard Branson, Kanye West, Paul Rodriguez and Serena Williams, along with the comic stylings of Aziz Ansari. You might not think that a quirkily ironic video like this would even need comic relief, but Aziz’ lines are well placed and bring us full-circle on all the teaser videos we saw last week. Click through to see more and be on the lookout for more Nike Kobe VII System ’testimonial’ videos in the weeks to come.

“Where do you go from the top? You go over the top.”
The #KobeSystem lays the blueprint for the successful to become even more successful. Just check out Kobe’s Success System self help seminar and you’ll get all the answers you need. How do you know when you’re in the #KobeSystem? Look at your feet. Seems simple enough. It’s all about “adapting to succeed” so you’ll have to adapt into a new pair of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII System Supreme to see for yourself. If it’s good enough for megastars like Kanye West, Jerry Rice and Richard Branson among others, this might be worth looking into. Enjoy the “Welcome to the #KobeSystem” video after the jump and let us know if it works for you.

A Nike collaboration taking its colorway from a British sports car is a recipe for success proven out by the immense success of Nike’s Kobe Bryant x Aston Martin pack from 2010. This new take on UK-born automotive muses won’t be as widely available (or lusted after) as Kobe’s Vanquish-inspired two-pack, but the colorway is similar enough to create more connections between that Hyperdunk/Zoom Kobe V set and this new AMEN x Nike LunarGlide+ 3 ’Lotus Evora’ design. Brought to fruition by German designer Paul Snowden, this special design for Munich boutique AMEN reimagines the logo-emblazoned Evora by utilizing its color palette on a design that adds ‘AMEN’ and ‘EVORA’ to the tongue tags to finish the tie-in. Check out the shoe and its inspiration in greater detail after the jump and let us know which has been the greatest car-based sneaker design we’ve seen so far. via Sneakerb0b

“Serena Williams told me I had to check it out, so I did.”
Aziz Ansari’s hilarious take on the Nike Kobe VII System was expected, but did you know Nike SB star Paul Rodriguez has also mastered the art of absurdity? P-Rod comes through with his take on the #KobeSystem and gives a new twist to the ‘Success for the Successful’ tagline that appears on the backdrop, offering a parody of multilevel marketing gurus and their silvertongued sales pitches. Click through to see the full video, including “Truths that you didn’t even know were even true, until you realized they were more truthful than anything you’ve ever known to be true,” and stick with Sneaker News for all the Zoom Kobe VII release dates.

“I was like, ‘Kobe Bryant, the basketball player?! Fool can’t do stand-up.’”
You might expect that comedian Aziz Ansari would have picked up something about basketball given the title of his popular NBC sitcom, but he hasn’t showed up at enough celebrity all-star games to warrant serious consideration as among the best entertainment industry ballers. But as far as Aziz is concerned, Kobe Bryant could just as easily extend his spotlight-stealing dominance from the hardwood to the stage at a comedy club. Ansari’s on the #KobeSystem, as in Nike Zoom Kobe VII and its unprecedented level of custom adaptation, and you can see his hilarious take on the Black Mamba’s latest Nike Basketball signature in the full video after the jump. Kobe has a history of outlandish commercials, from MVPuppets to jumping Aston Martins and pools of snakes; where does this tall tale rank among them?
