It appears that our ‘Classics Revisited’ segments have had a direct effect on our Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT regulars, because three of the five Air Max 1s featured last week have popped up in this week’s Top 20! Furthermore, a sneakerhead out in the Netherlands shows us that he’s got the Air Force 1 game on complete lockdown, because three of his inclusions were worthy of this week’s twenty best (and we even left a couple out). The Reebok Question has been a trending sneaker, so we decided to cluster three sick Mid colorways as one. About two months ago, Sneaker News gave you a first look at an upcoming four-pack of classic Pumas bearing the name ‘Takumi’.  This isn’t a designer or a Tokyo boutique, but rather, the Japanese word for “artisan”, a reference to the quality on these Japan-built Ralph Sampson hightops.  The Puma RS ‘Takumi’ comes in a couple of colorways reminiscent of the Nike Basketball Elite Series, but their simple leather construction makes clear the fact these aren’t a modern performance model.  They’re better suited to those times when you want to sneak your kicks into a ‘classy’ environment, and they’re available now at select Japanese retailers like mita sneakers.

They’re on to the next one with the mint chocolate chip ‘Bushwhacker’ Saucony Grid 9000, but before they unveiled this collaboration with one of New England’s running experts, Sneaker Freaker looked to their own backyard for inspiration on a German classic with a Texas-born name.  And accordingly, the Dallas lowtop that SNKR FRKR rebranded as Puma Bunyip was unleashed on the public with a party that included the expected top-notch mix of music, art, drinks and, of course, a sick selection of any kind of kicks you can imagine.  Check out the video below, let us know how this looked compared to your favorite release date/party memories and stick with Sneaker News for more event recaps from around the sneakerhead universe.  via ST

It was for Beams’ 35th anniversary that Puma introduced the Disc Blaze LTWT late last year, but the German Cat must’ve been excited by all that birthday celebrating, because they’re already prepping for the Disc Blaze’s 20th anniversary in 2013.  As part of the run up to next year’s party, we’ll be seeing a few more special Faas 500 x Disc Blaze hybrids, including two colorways of the Puma Disc Blaze LTWT Sporty featuring a unique anodized finish on the enclosure elements.  Your choice of blue/white/red or stone/white/neon makes a big difference in terms of clothing options, but both are equally eye-catching and available now at select Japanese retailers.  Photos: honeyee

The Puma Shadow Society is one of the more interesting recent concepts in collaborative design, but its very nature precludes the participants from taking credit for the designs.  They’ve given us several top-notch drops on the iconic silhouette pictured above, but that particular one is coming up in conjunction with a boutique that’s among the world’s most identifiable.  And if they hold true to form, the Solebox x Puma States (a re-branded Suede lowtop) is going to be one hard pair to get your hands on.  They’re crafted in a nappy grey suede whose simple pairing with white keeps them in step with today’s styles, but how do they compare with the GoreTex-equipped ‘Outdoor’ States the Shadow Society put out last December?  Let us know on the other side and stick with Sneaker News for release info on the Solebox x Puma State collaboration.
