nike air foamposite one weatherman sample 1 Nike Air Foamposite One Weatherman Sample

The forecast on tax day is cloudy for many, no matter how sunny the skies.  This turned out to be a good thing for Foamposite fanatics and Kevin Durant fans, as yesterday brought us a first glimpse at a crazy new One with meteorological detailing.  This ‘Weatherman’ Nike Air Foamposite One applies the Doppler radar look that made the Zoom KD IV of the same name so spectacular.  Reactions to this pair’s first viewing appeared fairly polarized considering the popularity of the Weatherman KD 4s; further proof of just how important this iconic silhouette remains within the sneakerhead community and how much people adore the classic unibodied Foams.  Check out some new images below and let us know where these would rank if they end up making it to retail.

lebronold palmers Nike LeBron 9 Low LeBronold Palmer on eBay

LeBrons are dominating the off-the-court footwear scene right now, and with the upcoming releases of the EXTs and the LeBron X NSW, that trend is poised to get stronger and stronger. Even the shoes that Nike never released are getting a ton of attention, like one of the two LeBronold Palmer joints that might be one of the most coveted sneakers for the Summer 2013 season. These were produced last year and never hit stores, yet some lucky ducks have managed to get their hands on ‘em – only to list them at egregious prices. Well, someone’s bound to cave, so check out these new photos below and let us know if the LeBronolds are the best unreleased LeBrons ever, and if you’re really curious to see the insane price, check out the listing from jllo2055 on eBay.

Nike Air Force 1 Low “New Six” Tony Parker – Unreleased Alternate Sample

nike air force 1 low tony parker sample 1 Nike Air Force 1 Low New Six Tony Parker Unreleased Alternate Sample

Right at the peak of the Air Force 1 heyday in the 2000′s, Nike released the Nike Air Force 1  ”New Six” Pack (a follow up to the “Original Six”) featuring six of the NBA’s brightest stars that would carry on the torch to the next generation of legends. The six players named under the Nike umbrella were LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Rasheed Wallace, Amare Stoudemire, Vince Carter, and Tony Parker, and the entire Pack featured images of each individual player’s face on the upper of the shoe – although based on this unreleased alternate sample, the “New Six” Pack could have been vastly different. Instead of Parker’s facial portrait, we’re shown an image of a finger roll to the hoop, so who knows what other imagery Nike had planned to represent the other five? Check out the extra photos of this unreleased sample below (as well as a look at the released version to get an idea how different these turned out to be) and check the listing from oregonsole on eBay.

Nike Air Trainer 2 LE “Spike Lee” – Unreleased Sample

April 12th, 2013 by | 5 comments

nike air trainer 2 le spike lee unreleased sample 0 Nike Air Trainer 2 LE Spike Lee Unreleased Sample

We’re rewinding a few years back (2009 to be exact) to the Nike Sportswear “Spike Lee” Pack that featured the Air Max 97, Big Nike High, and Blazer Mid…and almost the Air Trainer 2 LE. The Spike Lee Pack was tied together by the dope tongue label depicting Spike’s rectangular-framed glasses which was also used on the Air Trainer 2 LE, but for reasons unknown, the Trainer was never released in the Pack. The colorway is definitely much louder than the rest of the set, which is probably why we never really forget about ‘em. A rare chance to own this sample is up now, so refresh your memory and place your bids in on this true auction from mandmanda2445 on eBay.

Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Statue of Liberty”

nike lebron 9 elite statue of liberty 1 Nike LeBron 9 Elite Statue of Liberty

The release of the “Statue of Liberty” colorway of the Hyperposites inspired several sneaker customizers to create their own Lady Liberty designs on various shoes, but based on this new development, it looks like Nike had internal plans as well for the Nike LeBron 9 Elite. This never-before-seen sample features the catchy mint green and gold colorway, although this doesn’t feature the streaks of gold that represents the rusted exterior of the historic landmark (although Mache’s version covered that quite nicely). Just like all the other LeBron 9 Elite bangers we saw (tonal Volts, Chinas, an so on), these never released and has no plans to do so, so feast your eyes here for a first look and let us know what you think.

nike zoom kobe gametime grey black blue mint Nike Zoom Kobe Gametime Grey Purple Green | Sample

Another look at a sample colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe Gametime is here – this time taking one a “Joker”-like colorway of Grey/Purple/Green. The Gametime was actually a take-down model that released in Asia sometime last year, with the solid-rubber XDR outsole allowing for a more durable outsole for outdoor play, but do these have a lifestyle footwear capability like the Kobe signature models have had? Check out this interesting colorway below and let us know if you think there’s room for more Kobe models in the U.S., and check out the photos below from never_wear_these on eBay.

adidas Rose 4 – Sample

adidas rose 4 adidas Rose 4 Sample

adidas Basketball was stuck in quite the sticky juncture at the release of the adidas Rose 3; the shoes were by far the most impressive Rose signatures to date, but with the star player missing the entire season with a knee injury, the shoe never really picked up any steam due to the lack of on-the-court sightings. Seeing the shoes on the feet of the superstar is by far one of the most powerful marketing tools for a signature basketball shoe, but no presence along with a competitive price-tag of $160 resulted in under-performance at retail, but things should change when Derrick gets back on the court. By then, he’ll probably be wearing the adidas Rose 4, for which a sample in a grey/black and red/black is previewed here; it features a similar silhouette as the Rose 3 and appears to use lux materials (pointing to another high MSRP), with stylized perforations, a pronounced heel-counter, and sleek midsole giving the shoe that grown-up appeal. We’ll have more for you when the adidas Rose 4 releases later this year, so check out the extra shot below and stay tuned.

Nike Air Epic – Prefontaine Logo Sample

April 7th, 2013 by | 1 comment

nike air epic prefontaine 9 Nike Air Epic Prefontaine Logo Sample

There couldn’t be a more appropriate Nike Running model to test out this sick Steve Prefontaine Running Man logo. Nike historians know just how critical Steve Prefontaine is to the genesis of the Nike brand, and although he life was cut short, he’s paved the way for the world’s greatest athletes to align with Nike over the next four decades. This rare 2005 sample features the Nike Air Epic with the signature Nike-style embroidered silhouette logo on the heel, showing Prefontaine doing what he did best, and although these never did release, they may have been produced as a special promo to mark the 30th Anniversary of Prefontaine’s death (Nike also released a Prefontaine commercial that year as well). Definitely a gem of a find for Nike fans, so take a look and see the full listing from rkd4life on eBay.
