Comme des Garcons has long been considered one of the premier labels in Japanese fashion, as it has been one of the few Japanese domestic labels to achieve worldwide recognition in the fashion industry at large. Rei Kawakubo’s company expanded from simple roots to acclaim around the world, and a staple in the fashion world. The Japanese domestic fashion market in general has always been a little different from the world at large, sometimes for the better, other times for the worse. Nevertheless, Japan has always been a mover and shaker in the fashion world, especially in streetwear, and this latest release from Comme des Garcons is definitely something interesting. Featuring Osomatsu-kun, a popular Japanese manga character from the 1960s, these shoes may not have much appeal for those outside Japan, but for the Japanese, this is definitely a real nostalgia piece. Even for those that haven’t watched the anime, or read the manga, these shoes are definitely something different and exciting, and are now available at Colette’s eshop in both low and high top versions. Although a skate brand, Supra sneakers aren’t usually the shoes of choice for the typical skater, more seen on the feet of fashion and style enthusiasts. The company has always been known for their flashy designs and colors, as seen on this yellow Supra Vaider. The sneaker is bound to turn a few heads with its stylish combination of shiny patent leather and regular, perforated leather. Not to take away from the technology of the shoe, a cushioning SupraFoam midsole is featured along with a durable vulcanized sole. Also, the high cut ankle provides for great support, potentially preventing injury. There is no word yet on when these sneakers will be releasing. via Sneaker Freaker

Recently we caught a few photos of Paul Rodriguez doing every skaters favorite task, setting up a new complete. However Paul was accomplishing this feat in ultimate style wearing what seems to be a test wear version of his newest Signature shoe. The shoes seem to have very similar theory to the P-Rod 2. The most apparent changes are a new lacing system and a less padded tongue. Sneaker Freaker recently held an interview with Paul Rodriguez where he mentioned the shoes are slated for a Summer 2009 release, however we may still see some changes to the model before they hit the streets. Originally made for a special release during a Stash art show at Colette in 2002, Reconstore.com has suprisingly made the Stash designed Gravis Pack available on their web store as an exclusive. The pack features a pair of Gravis Lokash Shoes and a matching laptop bag with a custom camo print. The premium soft leather of the Lokash is embellished with a perforated with the ‘Subware’ logo. While the shoes have the streets at heart, they are fairly dressy as well.
