Everybody loves a good chukka, and you can’t go wrong with the original. Clarks‘ Wallabee is an icon of street style and Futura is something of a street art legend. Put ‘em together and you get a beautiful mess.
We don’t often see canvas on Wallabees, but it looks great in black on these. Add some skillfully layered paint splashes in primary colours plus white and orange, and these will turn some heads. The “Futura” signature, we could do without but these will make a welcome addition for any sneakerheads who fancy themselves backpacking street artists. Pre-order now at STLESS. Via HB

Rockport doesn’t get a ton of attention in sneakerhead circles, but these efforts are too solid to ignore. We see their classic boat shoe updated with some blue and white striped fabric around the ankle. This looks snappy with the rest of the shoe in tonal white. There’s a chukka-like boot that could stand to lose the “Rockport” embroidery on the tongue, a quintessential “lifestyle sneaker” that needs to get rid of the “Rockport” on the strap. The strapped model appears in strapless form for a very solid effort that rounds out the collection; it’s in black and red with a dash of buffalo plaid on the ankle. Cop any or all of these at UrbanOutfitters or Karmaloop. Via HB

Pastel is a part of Lacoste’s legacy, so when we brought you an updated Cabestan called the “Vulc”, we weren’t surprised to see their Spring 2009 looking like watercolours. Adding a dash of atmos to the pallate appears to have given the old standby a jolt of energy.
If you squint really hard, you can see the houndstooth print on the toebox and side panels as a lightning bolt pattern. Add the neon side eyelets, laces and lining, and the effect is electric. There are two pairs which are identical save that the neon elements mentioned above are green on one and pink on another. An interesting release to brighten up your holiday season, both colours are available at atmos’ online store. Via HB.

A ton of different companies have their own spin on the classic chukka model, and since Beauty & Youth have gotten into the collabo game, it seems appropriate that they’d incorporate this popular design.
We see three pairs in suede here, one in blue, one in black and another in taupe. They have a sole similar to many Vans skate shoes: it’s wihte with a contrast stripe at the top of the midsole. To make them B&Y’s own, the designers added some brogue detailing on the toebox. Check out a few other shots after the jump, then cop em at United Arrows. Via Hypebeast

Not to jump to conclusions or anything, but if Gravis continues with strong efforts like these, we might have to give them their own tag.
Here are 4 pair of Gravis Vikings, two in hightop and two lows. It seems for each cut, there is a plain pair and another with contemporary colors. For the hightops, one’s all red, the other is a play on purple and black. For the lows, you get one in all black, while the other dares to mix brown with orange and a bright turquoise that’s very similar to one Nike employs to evoke a certain Michael J Fox character. Get them all after the jump, then buy em at CCS.

Twenty bucks says if you’re interested in sneakers, you also own at least one pair of Wallabees. Hey, even a sneakerhead’s gotta dress up every now and again.
Clarks’ signature model has been the same as long as I can remember — suede or leather in a low or mid chukka. They recently released shinier and more colorful models, but they’ve not tampered with much save the hues. Looks like that’s all changing with the Akasha edition Wallabee for Clarks Originals‘ fall/winter line.
The Akasha Wallabees feature quilted uppers stiched with tonal thread and a contrasting ankle, toebox threading and sole-heel. There’s a chocolate brown model with sky blue contrasts, and the red and black models each have white contrasts. Each one of the three makes your author’s mouth water
We haven’t seen a release date, but we suspect they’ll drop in time for the holidays around the magical $100 mark. Pics of all colors and some nice closeups after the jump. Good work, HB.
