Supra Owen April 2012 Colorways

We’ve seen sneakers become a default footwear choice thanks to comfort and street appeal as well as a microcosm of this movement as basketball sneakers were adopted as one of the cornerstones of skate shoe design, so what does a brand that’s rooted in skate and lifestyle looks do to expand their reach?  In the case of the Crown brand, they got back to most fundamental reason people wear casually wear sneakers instead of traditional dress shoes: comfort.  The Supra Owen offers a lightweight, well-cushioned ride that seems to nod toward several classic designs while ending up in a corner of the market all its own.  Two new colorways are now hitting retailers, and you can see more of the ‘Sprite’ and Chicago-style pairs below before you grab them straight from Supra.

Supra Vaider Low Cross

About eight months ago, Supra released their ‘Plus Pack’, a trio of skateboarding sneakers unified in their approach to distributing navy blue and white. These three were covered in the kind of crosses you’d expect from the Red Cross or maybe memories of arithmetic homework, and now another of the Crown brand’s lowtops has added a similar detail to its otherwise ‘blank’ appearance.  The Supra Vaider Low ’Cross’ arranges its side panel perforations into more of a lowercase ‘t’ than the earlier drops; perhaps you have a chain to match?  Let us know which one turned out better when you click through for more images, then look for these straight from Supra.

Supra Skytop III Jade

While they’ve been none too secretive about borrowing popular design conventions and colorways from other major brands, Supra has offered surprisingly few denim sneakers during a period when we’ve seen what was once an extremely rare material, now gobbled up regularly by consumers who demand even more.  The Supra Skytop III ’Jade’ steps forward to fill that void, its cream-colored waxed twill upper accented by black on the cage, tongue and heel strap.  Vibrant green on the top eyelets and rear midsole give this design its nickname, but while we’ve seen Nike in particular using their own jade greens more often of late, this particular color combination is really quite unique across the entire industry.  Is Supra running ahead of the curve of a huge trend with this distinctive palette or will you give them a pass?  Let us know after you have another look at these, then grab yours straight from Supra.

Supra Vaider Bally

They haven’t crossed over into the sneakerhead/streetwear set like luxury brands including Louis Vouitton and Christian Louboutin, which means that the closest most of us have gotten to a pair of Bally’s Swiss leather shoes and sneakers is 2Pac’s passing reference in ‘California Love’.  Even without household brand recognition, Bally still stands for top-notch quality to those who know the name, a top-notch reputation appropriated by the Crown brand on this new Supra Vaider ’Bally’.  The focus here is on the subtle elegance of black leather and mesh blended together for a breathable and relatively light premium construction, further evidence of which you can see in more photos below before you grab a pair straight from Supra.

Supra Vaider Low Scuba

The Supra Vaider Low isn’t quite as common as its midtop big brother, but one thing the Low is winning so far in 2012 is the race for most royal blue releases.  Following up on one that was completely and utterly dipped in royal comes this new ‘Scuba’ Vaider Low that employs a mix of suede and leather in addition to white accents including the vulc sole sidewalls.  It’s a build so simple the ‘Scuba’ tag has to apply to its rich blue upper and not any specific deep sea diving details, but no matter the nickname, these have a timeless style that skaters will find available directly from Supra.

Supra Three Amigos 2012 Pack

Just about a year ago, Supra announced its Three Amigos Tour, a skateboarding circuit named for the three lowtop designs contributed by a trio of its top young riders.  And just as last year’s route brought along five others to demo in cities near you, the 2012 Supra Three Amigos Spring Tour brings a total of seven young skaters to parks in Texas, Georgia and Florida.  Neen Williams, Keelan Dadd and Boo Johnson’s Supra Amigo designs give this junket its name; will you pick up one of these classically styled suede lowtops when they drop on Saturday, April 14th in conjunction with the first tour stop in Dallas?

Supra Stacks FC Pack

Despite the recent debut of the lightweight Owen runner, Supra is a skateboarding brand through in through.  But as is the case in life in general, mastery in one area builds confidence for further endeavors, and we’ve seen the Crown brand grow its scope of design inspiration accordingly as they’ve grown in recent years.  The latest release draws on a rich sporting heritage that’s part of the world’s most popular game, an ‘FC Pack’ of Supra Stacks that pits a blue pair ‘against’ a red ‘team’ to see whose soccer jersey-inspired look comes out on top.  It’s not exactly Barca vs. Real Madrid, but you can decide who wins with the aide of more images below, then grab yours straight from Supra.

Supra Skytop Crimson

While arguably Supra should have ‘rolled tide’ on these back in mid-January, there’s no doubting the visual appeal of their latest release.  The new Supra Skytop ’Crimson’ pictured above has a color scheme and nickname that provides a natural fit for the recently crowned NCAA FBS National Champions.  But even during a time when the Crown brand is clearly looking to the cultural calendar for help with its release schedule, these managed to stand on their palette alone.  They’ve got the simple appeal that’s so popular right now, and after you inspect more images after the jump below you’ll find them available directly from Supra.
