Lil Wayne’s SPECTRE line from Supra is almost here. That’s right, the rapper hasn’t been blessed with just one silhouette, but rather an entire label from the all-powerful skate shoe brand. The first one to arrive looks to be the Lil Wayne x Supra Chimera, a design that you can expect in-stores as soon as May 18th. Supra continues its string of classic sitcom derived pack names with a new duo that also furthers the Crown brand’s nod to Kanye West. All of the aforementioned nicknames have a light riddle component to them, so following up on last week’s ‘Drummond’ Skytops, you’ll naturally think of Air Yeezy 2 when seeing these two snake-detailed Supra Vaider Mids. One goes with a Knicks colorway and the Yeezy 2-like python texture while another goes with a more traditional black/grey/red but has its fair share of serpentine sections. The only specifically stated ’Year of the Snake’ Supras dropped back in March when a YOTS Owen hit in black and orange. Shortly after that release, the Crown brand debuted a higher silhouette in the Supra Owen Mid. Put these together, and we see a new ‘Year of the Snake’ Owen Mid taking advantage of the fact that most of the other brands left these styles back in the first quarter around Chinese New Year. They do it well with a ‘Black Cement’-ish approach to the colors and blocking, plus a bright mint green outsole for a fresh twist. Check them out up close below, then grab yours straight from Supra.

Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a look at some upcoming colorways of the Supra Chimera designed by Lil Wayne as part of the budding Spectre by Supra line. The future of this interesting new line has a lot more to celebrate beyond the Chimera because Supra expects this new endeavor to flourish as it takes on the street/skate scene with full force. Supra held a special unveiling party in Miami on Friday night, with a load of notable names like Bun B, Stevie J, Don Cannon, Mack Maine, skaters Chaz Ortiz, Stevie Williams and Chad Muska, French rappers Booba and Gato and, of course, Lil Wayne and the new Chimera sneaker. Along with a special display for the Chimera and other upcoming shoes, indoor vert ramps were installed for the skaters to put the shoe into action, tattoo artist BJ Betts provided complimentary tattoos, and of course, there were loads and loads of women (it’s Miami, would you expect any less?). While Lil Wayne may have just lost one of his bigger sponsorship deals, Supra is still sticking with the rapper. In fact, they’ve proven that his wild lifestyle has their full support with the likes of the recent “Vice Pack”. Further support comes in the form of this, Wayne’s own silhouette from the brand known as the Supra Chimera. Following up on the handful of sneak peeks that have arrived we’re just now getting full on look, one that includes three separate upcoming colorways of this latest rapper sneaker. There are plenty of noteworthy anniversaries in the sneaker world for 2013. Elsewhere, we see a watchmaker who’s also syonymous with collectibles and collaborations celebrating the thirtieth birthday for its signature wrist piece. The G-SHOCK x Supra partnership brings together two brands unified in their fashion-forward approach to crafting durable goods for demanding lifestyles. The crown brand revisits a 2010 theme with a ‘Red Carpet’ Supra Vaider Lite with red hits and 20:13 clock details. Supra in turn contributes a matching red accented matte black G-Shock with Cordura replacing the traditional resin band. This ‘It’s About Time’ capsule hits retailers next Saturday, May 11th, and you can see a bunch more photos after the jump.

Kanye West famously made mention of adopting the lead role in rap from the modified Maybach sedan in 2011′s ‘Otis’ music video. Here we see Supra tuck at least a portion of their whole summer into this latest style borrowing from the namechecked Diff’rent Strokes dad, as the Supra Skytop ‘Drummond’ takes a ‘Blink’ Air Yeezy 2 as a starting point, then dials up the intensity. So instead of pink and mint, we get a bold red snakeskin embossing on the leather upper as accented by black and a slime green shade. It’s a neckbreaker that you’ll want to see in more images below, then grab yours straight from Supra.

It’s been a while since we’ve detailed a new Supra Assault release here on Sneaker News, so here are three new styles for the warm season. We’ll start with the caramel leather edition, whose corded laces, metal eyelets and textile tongue combine to convey a sense of rugged luxury, like a high-end workboot. There’s a black suede edition with a white/gum sole that offers one of quintessential skate shoe colorways and a third in light grey chambray for a seasonally light and springy feel.
