Supra keeps going with the surname-tagged sneakers, utilizing more suggestion and implication than traditionally overt muse-attributing nicknames. Take for instance this new Supra S1W ‘Cunningham’, a design with clear Red Wing Boots overtones. The ‘Cunningham’ tag doesn’t seem to connect with legendary Philly Eagle jersey number 12 Randall or current Timberwolves reserve player Dante, but a glimpse of the classic construction does indeed bring to mind ‘Happy Days’. Let us know what you think after checking out more shots below, then grab this latest S1W colorway straight from Supra.

Supra continues to use surnames to tag its latest releases, but unlike the few that immediately preceded it, this one doesn’t have even an indirect tie-in with sports or pop culture. The Supra Society ‘Garrett’ probably isn’t a tribute to the house mom from Facts of Life or the brother from Everybody Loves Raymond (could it possibly be a subtle nod to Dallas Cowboys coach Jason’s ginger locks?), but with a fluorescent orange liner peeking out from all angles around the charcoal Satin TUF upper, it is most definitely a style that deserves to be re-run. Let us know how these compare to the similarly-lined Falcon that also just hit retail, then grab yours straight from Supra.

White skateboarding sneakers aren’t too terribly common, because if you use the shoe for its intended purpose, they wouldn’t end up white for very long anyway. As a result, the few white skate shoes that do hit retailers stand out from the pack, so even if you’re signing up for a ‘character’-filled look with some hard wear, a design like this latest Supra S1W is sure to turn heads. This Gunny TUF S1W has a vague LA Dodgers look in white with a grey toebox and select blue elements, and with both hardball and warm weather starting to permeate the springtime, you’ll want to grab a pair of these today straight from Supra.

Owing to the combination of regal appeal and high-contrast boldness, Supra utilizes the palette commonly connected to the Sacramento Kings at a higher rate than most brands. The last three such instances have all either been pro models or tagged with someone’s surname and while that’s not the case on the latest Supra Skytop III, Chad Muska will no doubt be pleased with the result. This newest iteration of the third entry from his Supra signature series blends a black waxed suede upper with select purple elements and an icey sole, which you can see in greater detail below before buying straight from Supra.

Supra wasn’t exactly straightforward with their ‘Brady’ Skytop (why Bulls colors instead of Patriots?), but this new drop named after a pro team sports athlete makes a much clearer connection. In fact, any time you see a purple and black shoe, it’s easy to connect it to the only team in the big four major sports leagues with the palette, so this Supra Pilot ‘Evans’ is a natural fit with the Sacramento Kings’ guard, Tyreke. Aside from its regal suede construction, this model makes you wonder if the success of the Owen could eventually snowball to where Supra signs athletes from sports outside their skateboarding core. In any case, you can check out more of these Pilots after the jump, then grab a pair straight from Supra.
