Back in late February, Nike Sportswear unleashed what very well could be the single most unique pair of Terminators we’ve ever seen. The Nike WMNS Terminator High was issued in a rich Honeycomb tumbled leather and instead of a traditional sewn-on Swoosh, these joints went crazy and simply cut theirs from the side panels. The result was a model that leaves little about your choice of socks to the imagination, a motif replicated on these two new colorways pictured above. Crafted in Mineral Blue and Wolf Grey, respectively, these models make you realize that solid designs are almost always welcomed in a whole spectrum of palettes. Sneaker News just showed you a new Nike Terminator High Basic featuring the Georgetown Hoyas’ classic palette and it looks like Nike Sportswear is just a Lakers colorup away from a full-on ’80s basketball pack here. Check out this pair of Terminator Highs in the immortal Boston Celtics combination of white and Pine Green. These joints feature the same funky heel script and metal D-ring eyelets as the aforementioned pair, a nice twist on the familiar design that’s now available at select Nike Sportswear retailers like TGWO.

Georgetown University had high hopes for this year’s NCAA March Madness tourney, but just like anyone who took the over on the Big East Conference’s win total, they were left disappointed. With that in mind, we can’t help but think this new Nike Terminator High Basic might have been more exciting had it released while the Hoyas were still alive, but then again, you’re not going to get a better confluence of ’80s basketball with timeless style, and that’s what the Terminator is all about. Sneaker News recently showed you a Nike WMNS Terminator High with a perforated upper and a cut-out swoosh – truly one of the most eccentric pair of Nikes we’ve ever seen. We’ve seen glossy reptilian skin, rhinestones, and selvedge denim make its way on the Terminator, so the term ‘Basic’ for these classics is actually a nice fit. This new women’s colorway combines a simple colorway of white, red, chlorine blue, and yellow with hiker-boot style D-ring lace hoops at the ankle, with a synthetic leather ‘basic’ upper. Anyone familiar with the history of sneaker design could look at a Nike Terminator High and in one second determine it’s a basketball shoe from the mid 1980s, but lately the Term has started to seem an awful lot like a boot. From the fur lined pairs to the Hiking Boot Pack, never have more Terminators released with rugged touches and the latest has us more ‘confused’ than ever. Birch, cream and black is more like the color palette you’d expect from a basketball and its hardwood court rather than any team uniform they’d be matching. Add to that a couple of D-ring eyelets and these could have just as easily joined the outdoorsy releases from late last year, but luckily, they’re available right now from Size?.

What’s lighter than Nike Fuse? How about…nothing? Here’s another look at a swooshless Terminator Highs for women – one that we showed you one month ago. These tonal-uppered lux high-tops feature pixelated perforations on the toe with roped laces and a ‘No-Liner’ construction, but without a doubt the most attention-grabbing feature is the cut-out swoosh allowing for uber-breathability (and a look into your socks). The heel-tab also features a unique build, in which the ankle is weaved into the the heel panel for structural integrity. It was just over two weeks ago that we saw another Nike WMNS Terminator High in white and Neo Lime, but the shift from 2010 to ’11 is pretty drastic as seen through the latest pair. It’s part of a pack of WMNS Terminator High Premiums that have a variety of unique characteristics when compared to the ‘typical’ Terms. If you start at the top you’ll notice a higher, thinner tongue first, which is covered by corded laces we’ve seen on a few special releases. Below those are some heavy duty perforations on the toe that echo the airy feel you get from an Espo-esque transparent Swoosh.
