Manny Pacquiao x Nike Lunar Vapor Trainer

Over the last couple of years, the world of boxing news has been dominated by fight that hasn’t happened – and one that might never go down. Although a PacMan vs. Pretty Boy Floyd would go down as one of the most hyped bouts in the history of the sport, the two superstars seem to be content with throwing verbals jabs from their corners. Floyd just took down Cotto a week ago and Manny is currently preparing for a showdown against Timothy Bradley, but when will the two finally clash in the ring? As Nike has done so in the past, a special set of Trainer releases bearing the MP crest will be released leading up to the fight, as we get a look at the Manny Pacquiao x Nike Lunar Vapor Trainer that is set for a release on May 19th (apparently the switch to Jordan Brand hasn’t gone into effect just yet). It features a Cargo Khaki upper with the MP logo on the heel, which sits above a Pro Combat-light graphic. Detailed shots await you below, so take a look and stick with Sneaker News for more Manny Pacquiao x Nike updates.

Manny Pacquiao x Nike Air Trainer 1.3 Max

If you’re in need of a replenishment of Manny Pacquiao gear, look no further than May 19th, when the Nike Air Trainer 1.3 Max releases in Manny-specific colors and logos. Much like the previous Air Trainer 1.3 Max Breathe that hit stores last October, this PacMan Trainer features a color-combo representative of Pacquiao’s Filipino roots, using a sunset-like gradient on the midsole, an anodized finish on the heel, custom insoles, and a ‘NINONG KNOWS’ banner on the inner face of the tongue. We’ve got a detailed viewing below so check ‘em out and stay tuned for a look at another PacMax x Nike Trainer set to drop on the same day.

Nike Air Max Griffey Fury Metallic Silver New Green

After a burst befitting the flurry of activity in spring training leading up to Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, the Nike Air Max Griffey Fury has slowed its pace in April and moving into this month. Fans of one of the smoothest swings in the history of America’s pastime won’t have to wait much longer, though, as this model reprising Junior’s 1995 signature will round the bases once more come June. This pair’s Metallic Silver and New Green build is both vaguely reminiscent of the Seattle Mariners’ colors and a reflection of the popularity of both grey/silver and minty greens this season, and you can see more images below in advance of the June 9th release date.

Nike Air Trainer Classic Black Soar Silver

It’s been nearly a decade since Nike last gave us the Air Trainer SC in a lowtop form, and given the response that model and its sequel enjoyed over the past few years, this newer introduction is all but guaranteed a strong following. The Nike Air Trainer Classic gives us a bit of that classic ‘seatbelted’ SC look in a bold mix of black nubuck, silver/grey and Soar blue. It’s reminiscent of the Orlando Magic/Air Penny lineup and yet the style predates their peak popularity, an anachronism that gives these a fresh feeling while you think back through your memory to try and place them. Nike Air Safari Pack

It all started on a couch in New York City.  That’s where Tinker Hatfield first saw the luxurious ostrich leather that inspired him to create Safari print, one of the more enduring aesthetic contributions from his epic 1987 ‘Air Pack’.  2012 marks that fab five’s 25th anniversary and it looks like we’ll be getting quite a few spotted tributes as the Nike Air Safari celebrates a quarter-century of success.  Joining it with the traditional black/grey/orange motif is the Air Trainer 1 from whom we’ve seen a ‘Chlorophyll’ preview this year, yet this one seems like just the tip of the iceberg for what might be in store.  Examine both pairs in detail below, let us know whether you’d pick the OG Air Safari over the Safari’d Air Trainer 1 and stick with Sneaker News for release info.  via Sneaker Freaker

Nike5 Street Gato Summer 2012

The Woven Quickstrike was a big hit at Asian retailers, but what about the ‘standard’ Nike5 Street Gato?  Its super-sleek build and textured medial surfaces are anything but run of the mill, but we’re quite happy to see the suede style that debuted just before the turn of the year, return on this new Pine Green and white edition.  They’d be perfect for Celtics fans, soccer players who’d like a pitch the size of the TD Garden hardwood, or thanks to the suede upper, these might get turned into skate shoes by someone who’s seen countless indoor soccer kicks appropriated by griptape.  Joining the ‘Pine Green’ Street Gato are black and blue leather pairs also available now, and after clicking below for more photos, you’ll find them at retailers like Miami’s Mr. R.  Photos: ITSB

Nike Air Trainer 1 Safari

Quite the select group of classic Nike Airs will celebrate a quarter century’s worth of existence this year, and in this upcoming release, you’ll see two of them come together as one. Here’s a look at the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Safari’, which combines the Nike Air Trainer 1 in the historic Air Safari ’87 colorway; just like the OG, this Air Trainer 1 ‘Safari’ utilizes the couch-inspired Safari print on the upper, the black synthetic leather panel, and the safari orange leather interior lining from the early-2000 Retro (the OG had a plush lining), but borrows some of the Trainer heritage with the perforated toe-box and the iconic strap. For some, this marriage of Air Trainer and Air Safari is one that is long overdue as we saw what ‘could’ve’ been with the similar Air Trainer 1 in the Safari colorways from roughly a decade ago, but not to worry because these have arrived at retailers in Asia like Limited Edt. and should hit the states soon in ‘Quickstrike’ fashion. More images below, so take a look and we’ll fill you in on other Air Pack tributary releases of the year!

Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 Black Volt

Give Tinker Hatfield a pen and paper and he’ll draw up a sick prototype of a sneaker. Of course, we’re at an age where pen and paper have taken a backseat to more high-tech devices, but the idea is the same; when we first showed you the debut of the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9, we noted that Tinker designed ‘em using an iPad. So as we get closer to the 2012 tennis season, Tinker and Co. have introduced a new Black/Neon colorway of the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 that Roger Federer will wear for the season, giving Roger a visual upgrade that matches the performance advantage provided by the Vapor Tour 9 (primarily the unique fit system, which has been adopted by the Lunarglide+ 4 and Lunar Hyperdunk+). Detailed images of this sweet new sneaker below, so take a look and watch for these soon at Nike retailers.
