Bo Jackson’s legendary line of Swoosh sneakers has been plenty flavorful as of late, with pairs like the “Horse Racing” and the “Broken Bats”, shoes that would have never come out in the heyday of his trainer run. This time around Nike is orienting things a little bit more towards those classically colored pairs with this grey/black/light magenta version of the Nike Air Trainer SC High. And those colors aren’t all it has going on – there’s also some 3M flash that begs to be seen. Take a look with us after the click and hope with us that we see them soon from retailers like Crooked Tongues.

Nike Free Trainer 5.0 – Oregon Ducks “Salute The Day”

May 30th, 2014 by | 2 comments

nike free trainer 5 0 oregon ducks salute the day Nike Free Trainer 5.0 Oregon Ducks Salute The Day

The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 is the latest sneaker to get outfitted with an Oregon Ducks look. What’s interesting about this pair is that it features a “Salute the Day” slogan, which turns the typical “Win the Day” creed into a tribute to our nation’s men and women in uniform. The Ducks wore their Salute the Day kits back on May 3rd for their Spring Game, so it’s a little bit surprising that this specialized Nike Free pair hasn’t popped up before. Get the full photo for this University of Oregon Nike Free Trainer below and give us your two cents on them down in the comments.

Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid “Paid In Full” – Release Date

May 30th, 2014 by | 4 comments

nike air trainer 1 paid in full release date Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid “Paid In Full” Release Date

The Nike Air Trainer 1 “Paid in Full” will release on June 7th, 2014. The shoes earned that nickname for their similarity to the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 arriving around draft day, although these get a bit more literal with the money print inspiration. Then again the official copy mentions that the shoe “toys with the idea of cash ruling everything”, so maybe this is a distant Wu Tang tribute slyly slid into the Nike range. See the official imagery below and watch for more sneaker release dates right here.

When images of the Nike Zoom CJ Trainer 2 first surfaced, there were a few shoe detractors who lamented the loss of the Megatron looking logo. It appears that that design will be a mainstay for his second sneaker though – the “Spicy Tuna” pair replaced it only temporarily with a set of initials presumably meant to line up with their Japanese theme. Among the next up for this sneaker is the pair shown here, which mixes white, black, and true red. Continue reading to get some more images on the samples and then cop them for yourself from gomenasaitatu on eBay.

We’re in a new age of Nike/NFL tie-ins now that the sportswear giant has the outfitting rights for the league. The five year contract started back in April of 2012 and immediately had an effect on Nike’s sneaker output. Let’s not forget though that the brand has long been committed to the idea of gridiron sneakers. In fact, University of Oregon quarterback Dan Fouts was one of the first athletes Knight and co. got to wear their sneakers outside of their circle of track stars. Back then, pairs like the Nike Astro Grabber with its waffle kit on bottom and the Nike Turfster with its more straightforward cleat design proved as early as 1972 that Nike meant business in the football footwear realm.

Will history be more generous to this Nike Free Trainer 5.0 or the earlier, fingertrap version of the shoes? At some point the identical names will need to be resolved – perhaps people will be arguing on sneaker forums decades from now trying to figure the whole thing out based on shreds of evidence. For the time being though, this pair is definitely taking ownership of the moniker as the aforementioned fingertrap has faded out a bit. The sneakers are again seen in a rather Oregon looking colorway that dons pine green and mixes in some varsity maize. See them in better detail after the click and stay tuned for further info on this Nike Trainer.
