Jordan Son of Mars Bred Full Family Sizes

Each year around the time school lets out and the NBA wraps up its postseason tournament, sneakerheads can’t help but remember that this was the season when Michael Jordan cemented his untouchable legacy.  Each of the full campaigns Mike played in the ’90s resulted in a championship ring, and with his Chicago Bulls teammates united in matching MJ’s black sneakers, the pair pictured above reminds us that one of His Airness’ greatest strengths was raising the game of role players sometimes known as his ‘Jordanaires’.  The Jordan Son of Mars has a ‘Scottie Pippen’ in the GS edition as well as PS and TD-sized editions for the Steve Kerrs and John Paxons of your family, you know, the ones who don’t quite contribute equally yet still help to define your success.  Outfitting the fam in ‘Bred’ Son of Mars will be possible when this expansive run drops next Saturday, June 2nd; will you be adding a kids pair to your own purchase from shops like CitySole?

Jordan Fly Wade 2 EV Metallic Gold Coin Black White

Are we looking at – dare we say – Dwyane Wade’s NBA Finals sneaker? Jordan Brand has an immense amount of confidence in its marquee signature athlete, and although there isn’t a true ‘Finals’ attachment to this sick June release, how awesome would it be to see Wade and LeBron fly down the court and pull off one of their stylish alley-oops while wearing their respective Black/Gold sneakers? That’s ‘winning’ at the very least, but Wade and the Heat still have to pull off one more W against the Pacers and have a tough test in the Eastern Conference Finals against the veteran Celtics or the energetic Sixers. Speaking on the shoes – the Metallic Gold Coin treatment does absolute wonders for the already supercar-like Fly Wade 2 EV – a true alchemic touch if there was one. Continue reading for a first look at the Jordan Fly Wade 2 ‘Gold Coin’ after the jump and let us know if you think Wade has a third career NBA Finals coming at him this June!

Air Jordan XII Obsidian Official Images

Following our feature of the Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ just an hour ago is a clear look at the Air Jordan XII ‘Obsidian’; this late-June release finishes of a triplet of Air Jordan XII releases that began with the original ‘Playoffs’ colorway and the all-new Cool Grey/Team Orange hat hit stores this past Saturday. We’ve got nearly a month left before these even begin popping up in stores, so the debate of whether or not to pass on these should pop up considering the slew of big-ticket releases slated to hit from now until then (South Beach LeBrons, Yeezy 2s, etc.). Need a reason to cop these? These are one of the very few un-Retro’ed Air Jordans left in the entire catalog (of course, that changes in the U.S. come June 23rd. More shots of this upcoming release after the jump, so take a look and let us know your decision on these.

Vans OTW Piercy

The Vans OTW Collection continues to provide a smart blend of traditional California skate aesthetics and premium lifestyle sneaker construction, its latest revelation the series first ‘sequel’.  The Vans OTW Piercy is a new silhouette whose wavy side panel lines will immediately remind those familiar with the Bedford of that midtop’s year-plus run, both models finding themselves in the Half Cab neighborhood without outright copying Caballero’s classics.  Brown full grain leather, black suede and ripstop, grey wool and suede and a chlorine blue canvas pair make up the fall 2012 collection, and you can see all four pairs of Vans Piercys after the jump below.  via FNG

Reebok Pump Omni Lite HLS

We’ve known Reebok’s HLS-soled reduxes were on tap since late last year, but the Vector brand is taking their time with this update akin to Nike Sportswear’s LunarLon efforts.  The new lightweight bottoms show up again on another RBK classic, this time one you could easily picture with your eyes closed.  Or is that, you can picture them with eyes closed, as in the case of Dee Brown’s blindfolded 1991 Dunk Contest winner in the OG Pump Omni Lite?  The Reebok Pump Omni Lite HLS looks as expected when you consider what we’ve seen from the updated Ventilators and Insta Pump Furys, but this one also opts for a rebuilt and decidedly more angular upper that has the entire shoe feeling familiar but a heckuvalot sleeker.  Let us know how these compare to the original when you’re on the other side checking out more images, and be sure to check back with Sneaker News for word on US availability.  via Sneaker Freaker

New Balance 574 Backpack New Images

New Balance has given a ton of attention to its classics catalog over the past several months, giving some of their best additional time in the sun while old standbys like this adapt to a new role.  There are still more New Balance 574 releases than any other NB silo, but the increased prevalence of models like the 9– series, 1300 and 1500 make this new collection even more of a treat.  The NB574 ’Backpack Collection’ features five solid canvas designs each accented by golden brown suede  on their side panel ‘N’ and the diamond loop on their tongue to which you could presumably attach a water bottle.  The implication of an ’80s era Eastpak is probably a better look than ball-and-chaining a Nalgene to your feet, so check out more images below and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this August 2012 release.  via FNG

Air Jordan AJKO QS Release Date

The first weekend of June should set the pace for an outstanding line-up of sneakers set to arrive throughout the Summer months, and what better to kick it off with some classic canvas-uppered Retros? The two June 2012 Quickstrike releases of the AJKO were first reported just last week, and after a confirmed release date of June 2nd at Asian retailers, it appears that the U.S. release date will be the same as American shops will also carry both Retro releases in two Saturdays. These will be available at select Jordan Brand retailers as a Quickstrike release, and while both carry that ‘OG’ vibe with their baseline Bulls colorways, just one of the two is an actual original. Nike Air Max Hyperposite Blue Volt

Behold – the Nike Air Max Hyperposite. Can you remember the last time Nike Basketball created a Foam-based performance sneaker intended for the basketball courts? With ‘lightweight’ being the keynote detail with performance sneakers across all sports, Foamposite has taken a backseat in the realm of optimal weight category while experiencing an incredible push to the top in the Lifestyle sector, but the upcoming Air Max Hyperposite aims to combine the two with this amazing new design. Anchored by full-length basketball-specific Max Air with an upper shell composed of a Hyperfuse x Foamposite shell, the Air Max Hyperposite has all the tools to properly contain a foot, provide ample cushioning, and offer supreme breathability. This new Blue/Volt colorway (remember, we first showed you a ‘South Beach’-like colorway a month ago) serves up a sick on-foot appeal with a aggressive off-centered Swoosh on the heel, while the Foam molded upper re-images the liquid nature of the quirky material. A detailed gallery of the Air Max Hyperposite below, so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: marqueesole
