Where are you, Vandal? Other than a couple of previews for upcoming releases, the holiday season was conspicuously lacking Nike Vandal drops. Here’s one for the new year, and it uses the Vandal’s signature piping to dramatic effect. The black lines over a purple underlay make these look slightly cel-shaded, while a snakeskin pattern adds some wildness to the toebox and eye-plackets. If you want another pair of syrupy Vandals, grab these from Japan’s Limited Edt.

Nothin’ says old school like nylon, neon colors, and the Nike Vandal. Here’s the Neon Nylon Pack of the Nike Vandal High VNTG, one in a radioactive green and the other a grey that’s been dirtied up. Both have a discolored midsole to give them a worn, from-the-70s look and the classic unforgettable Vandal High ankle-strap. Nylons been a popular material used thus far in 2009, and the stitching on the upper gives these Vandals an “Inside-out” appearance. These are set to drop in Spring 2010, so check out the pics after the jump for more details. via Dunk.

In a 2009 where the Blazer probably beat the Dunk in terms of total releases, we saw very little of the Nike Vandal. Here are two pairs of the VNTG High version that matches one of Nike Sportswear’s key themes for Spring ’10: neon with white contrasts (or vice-versa). In these new photos, it appears that the vintage details have been dialed back, but then again, the controlled randomness of ‘aged’ elements means each pair looks a little different. via HS

Yesterday we gave you a look at half of the Nike Valentines Day Pack. Here Is the other half, a pair of women’s Nike Vandals that get the same treatment as the Court Forces. The upper consists of white leather with a plaid toe box and side panels with a purple and red strap. There is also a strip of back patent leather that follows the stitching all over the shoe from the toe to the lace holes. Again the design elements that make up these Vandals is a more minimal approach to the Valentines Day theme and is executed nicely. Look for these to hit stores in time for February 14th festivities. Our friend over at Nitrolicious gives us a look at a new Holiday 2009 Nike Women’s Vandal High in a bright colorway of Electrolime and White. This WMNS Vandal High is a part of a larger pack of Women’s Urban sneakers that is inspired by Ancient Egypt and their culture. The shoe features a scarab beetle graphic on the tongue representing the “rebirth and the ability to be reborn in Ancient Egypt. Additionally the Electrolime leather used on the shoe’s upper has a nice crackle effect to it. You can pick these up now at select Nike Women’s Urban accounts. via Nitrolicious

When fall comes and stuff starts to decay in such a beautiful way, it’s a natural time to look toward vintage and subdued fashions that match the changing environment. With this duo of Nike Vandal Highs, they achieve that old-school look, but we’d hesitate to call them ‘subdued’. A black pair with yellow accents and two shades of purple on the strap isn’t too crazy and definitely has an old school vibe about it, as does the much brighter magenta pair with a metallic silver Swoosh. Both of them are available now from Schuh-You.

Nike Vandals come in a variety of fabrics but nylon is definitely the first one to come to mind. This tendency birthed a whole series of Nike Dunk High Vandals, which are basically Dunk silhouettes hewn in nylon with a ribbed strip wrapping the shoe atop its midsole. Those same ribbed strips are present on these Vintage (and all) nylon Nike Vandal Highs, but instead of a vertical ribbing, these go with a diagonal cut for an ever so slightly different look. There’s a magenta pair with metallic silver and a tri-coloured strap. That canvas strap is repeated on a black and gold pair, but its purple stripes help that one escape joining the Steelers bandwagon. Expect these at Nike Sportswear retailers next month.

College football is back to normal this fall. Miami just beat two ranked opponents, Nebraska is back in the top 25 and this Nike Vandal High makes alot more sense than it did when we first saw it a couple months back. The University of Michigan football program was on the rocks with allegations of NCAA violations and back to back sub-par seasons, but a win in the final minutes against Notre Dame and these kicks should make everything alright. adidas has supplied Michigan with their athletic gear for the last few years, but these Wolverine-striped Vandals make us wonder if putting together Swooshes with maize and blue might help them on the gridiron. Whether you’re in Ann Arbor (about to) tailgat(ing)e for the Eastern Michigan game or anywhere else not spelled ‘C-O-L-U-M-B-U-S’, you can cop these from LTD.
