Sole Classics, the sole Vans Vault account out in the great state of Ohio, is being blessed with their own collabo shoe. The shoe in question is of the Vans Era persuasion, and almost manages to pull that sneaker out of its skate heritage what with the basketball style brown leather that pops up on the back end. While suede may have gone the way of the dodo on performance sneakers, the material is still very much alive and kicking in the retro category. Case in point are these two new pairs from the Deluxe x Vans team up, both of which end up with a nappy texture that’s definitely a cut above the standard when it comes to suede. The Vans Era releases also feature some smart bits of brown leather and translucent soles on the bottom. Taka Hayashi’s curatorial role at Vans continues this summer with the release of the new “Suede Pack” of the TH Revere Hi LX. The design marries a couple disparate categories of sneakers, porting over the vintage suedes of older basketball models onto the Vans Sk8-Hi silhouette. From that the TH Rever Hi LX is born, a model that will be in stores for June of 2013 in two luxurious colorways of Black and Bossa Nova, retailing at $150 a pair. Just how big is Sanrio’s Hello Kitty? To put it in perspective for sneakerheads, no other brand or retailer has collaborated with Reebok, Ubiq and Vans all in the last year.
