Vans has another entry into the all-important category of white summer sneakers with the new “Square Ones” collection created in collaboration with DQM. The group is on its way soon, with a release date set for August 7th and a distribution that will include The Vans DQM General in SoHo, New York and The Vans DQM General on Newbury St. in Boston, MA. The set is very focused on filling the basics role and we’d say it achieves that with the blank slate blocking. dqm vans square ones DQM x Vans Square Ones Collection

DQM has got another exclusive Vans collection on the way. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise at this point given the now symbiotic relationship between the two entities. The group is the “Square Ones” collection, which features the Vans Sk8-Hi, Vans Authentic, and Vans Old Skool that pare things down to the bare minimum in terms of colors. The three shoes don a tough cotton ripstop fabric and tracer cord laces that are supposedly pretty tough to break down, which furthers the idea that the set is meant for everyday wear. Find more imagery on this new trio below and watch for the DQM x Vans “Square Ones” collection to release on August 7th at The Vans DQM General in SoHo, New York and The Vans DQM General on Newbury St. in Boston, MA, as well as DQM online.

taka hayashi vans vault slip on x 59 0 Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Slip On 59 LX

It seems like Taka Hayashi has pretty much free range with Vans models at this point given how many different shoes he’s worked with over the years. And yet, for this new collection he actually keeps things pretty restrained in terms of silhouettes used. There’s just the Vans Slip-On, more specifically the Vans Vault Slip-On 59 LX, that borrows some South West style native patterns. The Hayashi stamp on them means they’ll run you a bit more than your standard Slip-Ons – each cost $150. Continue reading to see the two new Vans in question and watch for them to launch in August at spots like the Vans DQM General (New York and Boston), Blends, Barneys, Bodega, Bows & Arrows, Conveyor, Fice, Hot Rod, Kicks/HI, Nice Kicks, Palace 5ive, Proper, Shoe Gallery and Sole Classics.

Japanese shop SOPH.net recently teamed up with Vans for a collaborative effort on the Vans Sk8-Hi Zip-Up and what resulted was a premium pair with minimal frills – something not too unexpected from the brand teaming up with the American classic. The base is drenched in a dark indigo while the accents and stitching stick with straight white for contrast. What do you think of the latest Vans collaboration?
