New Balance 900 “James Worthy” – OG Pair on eBay

One of the true high-top basketball gems in the 1980s was the New Balance BB900 that James Worthy rocked during that magical “Showtime” era that the Los Angeles Lakers and its fans relished. The sick design made them awfully popular on the basketball courts as well as on the feet of kids in school hallways, so there’s no question that these would be a popular pick for a Retro soon (although the 2010 re-release of the P790 wasn’t hugely popular). It’s quite rare to see a pair of originals in such pristine condition, and considering a retro release isn’t noted in the books anytime soon, you don’t want to miss out on this listing! Back in the Spring of 1992 Nike Running introduced the Nike Air Analog running shoe as part of a collection of sneakers for professional runners, falling in line with other highly-praised performance models like the Air Icarus, Pegasus, Anodyne, and more. The Air Analog is one of the shoes that quite honestly isn’t one of the most memorable silhouettes, so a Retro release would be rather unlikely (there’s plenty more ahead on the list of must-retro shoes). This colorway of White/Nightshade-Bright Grape accurately represents the color-blocking of sneakers during those times – lots of white uppers with perfect hints of color. Nike Air Force Max – OG “Ultramarine” Pair on eBay

Sneaker colorways have come a long way (perhaps stepping a bit too far beyond normal bounds) over the years. Back then, all you needed was a clean white/black colorway with the perfect hit of color, but these days, if it doesn’t have bright crimson speckling with glow-in-the-dark outsoles and some sort of crazy print on the lining, the shoe is deemed too generic. Older cats certainly appreciate the simpler days of sneaker colorways, like when this OG Nike Air Force Max with the light touch of Ultramarine blue on the heel was a definite eye-catcher on the streets. Reebok Shaqnosis – OG Kids Pair on eBay

Was Shaq popular with the kids back in the day? The answer is yes: along with a superstar presence on the basketball court, Shaq showed a natural charisma behind the camera, appearing in several films like Blue Chips (although that was geared toward older fans) and the Oscar-snubbed “Kazaam” and “Steel”. Air Jordan V “Fire Red” – Deadstock OG Pair on eBay

With the Air Jordan V “Fire Red” confirmed for a release in late August, why not take a look back at a pristine pair of the originals to see if we can spot any differences? The obvious discrepancy is the plethora of Nike Air markings on the upper as well as the “23″ stitching on the heel is done in a completely different style, and outside of the materials used in 1990 compared to 2013, the OG and upcoming Retro are a pretty good match.
