Visvim showed us some new Skagway lowtops earlier this week in denim with dirty soles, but wants us to remember that the model is quite versitile. The Visvim Skagway is back in denim, but this time as a laceless lowtop slip-on or a hightop. The lowtop features the Skagway’s signature grid sans laces, while the hightops stretch it vertically. We saw a pair of Chucks a little while back that look like they’ve been mowed in, but this new pair of cap-toed lowtops remind your author of the nine year-old pair he wears whilst weightlifting. Visvim is well known for putting twists on classic designs and this new collection is true to form. Exclusive to the Parisian boutique, the Visvim at Colette collection is colourful and subdued all at once. Three pairs of Sk8-Hi-like hightops are quite bright in scored leather atop vulc soles, while the capped-toe Keifer comes at us in black, white or brown. Throw in a few dope plaids and some other button-downs, a couple of coats, two pairs of trousers and a trio of jeans, and this is all you’ll need to look fresh this summer. We’ve seen a ton of colourful boat shoes and chukkas this year, so these new pairs will fit right in. The Visvim Folk FBT Lhamo is anything but lame in six new colours. There are two in different shades of brown and one in navy blue, but the red, yellow and orange joints are very bright. All six feature the signature ‘collar’ and moccasin style lacing and will be available later this summer. via Shoes Master

Last year, Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design collaborated on with a slew of trendy companies to create the “Hi & Lo” collection. Part of that joint venture was a Murakami Flower-emblazoned Visvim Kiefer, which despite its name is only available in a hightop silhouette. Aside from the flower insignia, the rest is standard Kiefer fare: a black canvas upper with white stitching tops a white and black striped sole, complete with toe cap. Visvim clearly loves cuffs as much as they favor strange monikers. Their new Gabo Elk Penobscot (Gabo is the model name, Elk Penobscot the style) seems to draw inspiration from two of their most popular models: the Kiefer and FBT.
