The world is in a Yeezy frenzy after Kanye wore the all-red joints last weekend, and things only got crazier when some hints regarding an October release started to swirl around. An on-feet look at the Elephant Print Air Jordan V came to light, while a release date for the “Thermal Map” Foamposites turned up the heat. LeBron whipped out a new PE for Game 4 (first of the Finals), while a new box was revealed to be a part of the Nike KD 6 packaging. Nike Sportswear’s going heavy this Fall with the return of several OG models, while the new Roshe continues to blossom with the Roshe High and Zoom BB model. A first look at a Lunar Force 1 VT Mesh gave the update sneaker some personality as well, while Nike SB reaches back to Beavis and Butthead for a sick duo of Dunks.

Reebok finally introduced the first part of the Artist Series curated by Stash, while a detailed July 2013 preview of Classics footwear proved that RBK was going to stay strong and steady through the Fall season. A first look at the adidas Rose 4 stirred up a nice discussion among our readers, while New Balance presented the American Rebel Collection for the Fall season. Time flies, doesn’t it? We’re at the last month of the first half of 2013, and the headlines don’t seem to stop, but Sneaker News, as usual, is first in line to keep you up to date. We brought you an exclusive look at an unreleased Air Jordan IX from Holiday 2012, and Jordan Brand brought out a Retro of the Air Jordan XX3 for Maya Moore. It’s a big week for basketball kicks as LeBron, as expected, whipped out a sick PE colorway of the Nike LeBron X Elite for the Finals. Kobe received a special pair of shoes to help with his recovery (he calls ‘em “Medical Mambas”), while Nike provided us with an official look at the Camo Foamposites. Paul Rodriguez celebrated his seventh signature shoe with an interview with us, and Nike iD brought back the “Invisible Woman” with some new options for the Air Force 1. Nike Sportswear will also introduce “Tape” – a new seamless upper build for their classic Air Max models.

New Balance introduces the H996 (think of it as a mid-top version of the 996) while revealing another 999 from its Elite stash. adidas is bringing back some of its earlier Kobe models later this year, and Ewing Athletics has its Focus Retro ready for a release later this month. Vans officially unveiled its collaboration with Tyler, The Creator, and Converse gave us a look at some upcoming First String renditions of the Auckland Racer and more. In the PE category, we showed you some interesting special editions for the likes of Deion Sanders and former U.S. President George H.W. Bush. Josh Childress, a noted sneakerhead in the NBA with an active Niketalk account, used his Vine account to show us his sneaker stash. The next Sneaker Con Summer 2013 tour date is also confirmed for June 29th in Miami. What a mighty week it’s been! An insane amount of headlines began at the start of Memorial Day Weekend and didn’t end until right this moment, so let’s get a quick review going. An internal Nike source confirmed a third release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 for later this year, while a detailed viewing of the Air Jordan V “Elephant” brought in some interesting comments from our readers. Nike Basketball was huge once again, with the release of the MVP LeBrons, a first look at the “Team Orange” Nike KD VI, and a new NSW Kobe 8 colorway. A first detailed look at the “Weatherman” Foamposites caused a stir, while a ton of Nike Sportswear Air Max releases like the Air Max 90 Mid and Size? x Nike’s Urban Safari Pack get the runner fans happy. Air Force 1s enjoyed some nice headlines thanks to the release of the Lunar Force 1 “Sheed”, while a duet of Baltimore-inspired Highs had the trailblazing city proud.

In more Retro news, we got a first look at a Grey/Orange colorway of the Zoom Flight ’98, while a Nike Dunk classic from a decade ago was confirmed for a re-issue later in June. Nike SB enjoyed some high praise with the “Orange Canvas” leading the way. We caught some teasers of Reebok’s future collaborations with Sneakersnstuff, while a first look at the adidas Crazy Light 3 had hoop fans intrigued. A ton of previews of New Balance’s July 2013 footwear arrived, as did some upcoming Vans projects, like another Supreme collab. Yet another action-packed week in Sneaker News! Kanye West rocked the red Yeezy 2, which sparked a long discussion on a potential release. The Nike LeBron XI was leaked by LeBron’s main man Maverick Carter, while the energetic “Meteorology” colorway of the Nike KD VI sparked some interesting comments. Some new Air Jordan Retro colorways like the red suede Air Jordan VI and red tongue Air Jordan IV had the Retro category booming, as did the crazy NFL-inspired Air Trainers like the “Bo Knows” joints. A funky lifestyle version of the Kobe 8 popped up this week, which the Nike Hyperdunk 2013 was officially unveiled by Nike. A strange “Asteroid Gradient” colorway of the Foamposite coerced some humorous responses, while the “Watermelon” versions of the SB Dunk Mid and LeBron X Low reminded us that the Summer vacation season is just around the corner.

The NBA moved to the Conference Finals round, with LeBron sporting a new PE of the Elite X, while his off-the-court showing in last year’s low-top Air Jordan XI garnered some praise. Nike officially unveiled the “Ballistic Pack” of Dunk (regular and Hyper), while a “hologram” Air Force 1 and some samples of the new ostrich materials kept the Air Force 1 category booming. Flyknits were hot again, with several Chukka colorways getting previewed for a release (near and far in the future). Saucony and Solebox hook up again with “The Lucanid”, Reebok impresses with the help of SNS and Packer Shoes, Yohji Yamamoto gives a classic adidas design some punch, and Vans unveils this year’s charitable collection of Pendleton x Nibwaakaawin. Lux streetwear brand Comme des Garcons teams up with Converse and the Pro Leather, while Puma’s basic heritage models gave the seldom talked-about brand some love. Customs were huge as well, with a clean Kanye-meets-MJ logo leading the way. Summer is drawing ever closer, the warm weather is expiring, and folks are starting to head outside to enjoy it all with the freshest of sneakers on their feet. For our loyal readers who are still spending time inside sitting in front of Sneaker News, we salute you. Like we always do at this time, let’s talk about the biggest bullet points across this week’s stories. The Air Jordan IV “Stealth Oreo” popped up, putting another pair on the must-have list as far as Air Jordan retros in 2013. The Nike LeBron X got just as busy as their namesake player, with the likes of both the lifestyle and the proper basketball versions continuing to tease us. Kevin Durant slipped out of the playoff race but his sneakers managed to maintain our attention via all those unreleased samples. Rounding out the Big Three, Kobe Bryant’s Mambacurial version finally got a release date and a new set of shots.

We learned just how deep Nike Sportswear is going this year thanks to a box full of samples, Kanye West showed up on some adidas for once, and the Nike Zoom Hyperflight was reborn with a bizarre lenticular look. Vandal-A came through with an insane Air Max inspired Bespoke creation, the Nike Air Max EM “Sunset Pack” will apparently be given away through a scavenger hunt next week, and Ewing Athletics further revealed its plans to bring the Focus back. adidas Rookie of the year Damian Lillard got his own pair of the Real Deal, Action Bronson told us what his favorite New Balance pair is, and Sneaker News gave you an exclusive look at the Play Cloths x Saucony “Cotton Candy” pack. One of the most anticipated sneaker releases of 2013 released this past weekend, but there’s no slowing down as another huge week of Sneaker News kept us excited for the remainder of May. A detailed look at the Air Jordan V “Melo” fell before our eyes, while news of a potential mass restock caused quite a discussion among our readers. The “Camo” colorway of the Foamposite might be headed for a release soon, while Nike Basketball created the insane “MVP” colorway of the Nike LeBron X. A detailed look at the Nike KD VI changed a few minds from negative to positive, while the “Stadium Grey”colorway of the Nike Kobe 8 established itself as one of the must-haves of the Summer. Nike SB revealed some interesting collaborations, the first catalog-shot look at the Air Max 2014 had us curious, the Air Revolution from 1987 nears a re-release, and more Griffey releases kept baseball in the sneaker loop.

Packer Shoes provided a teaser shot of its upcoming collaboration with the Kamikaze II, hinting at the 1996 NBA All-Star Game, while adidas celebrated Mark Gonzales and his 15 years of skating. New Balance gets hit with Camo on the 574 and a special Derby colorway of the 576 while being the focus of a satire by Saturday Night Live, and Marvel Comics arrives at the Vans Era once again for Fall 2013. A special feature of LeBron James’ four MVP Nike sneakers was a great throwback piece, while a thorough look at some unreleased Air Jordans had us curious about what other samples could have been created. The ShoeZeum begins to list its shoes for sale, Lil’ Wayne launches the Spectra in Miami, and custom kicks dominate the headlines once again. May is upon us, and we’ll kicked things off with a full outline of all the sneakers releasing this month. The Air Jordan “Fire Red” retros were definitely hot topics, as was the new “Black/Mint” colorway of the Nike LeBron X EXT. Kobe Bryant’s love for soccer shines through in the Mambacurial, while a first look at the upcoming Nike KD VI had readers chiming in at a fast rate. The next Foamposite release has an Orlando vibe to it, but the rumored increase in MSRP had Foam fans in frenzy, while another basketball classic in the Nike Hyperflight resurfaced in rebuilt form with a full-length 360 Zoom Air bag. The Nike Dunk was a big category as well, with an exclusive preview of the upcoming Dunk Free causing quite a stire.

Calvin Johnson is the next athlete to join the signature athlete club with the Nike CJ81, while the “Pink Foil” sample of the Janoski had this SB powerhouse continuing its dominance. Solebox is pumping up again, while Ronnie Fieg’s latest collab called the “ECP” had Asics fans gearing up for another hyped release. The upcoming Jeremy Scott footwear previews left us wanting more, with the “Pixel” and “Dollars” Wings 2.0 serving up the eccentric styles that Jeremy Scott fans love. Saucony made some big headlines with three great must-have collaborations, while Ewing Athletics teased the next model in their Retro campaign. Custom sneakers were again a big topic, with the Black/Cement Roshes garnering some attention, while an unreleased sample colorway of an Air Jordan from ’92 had us wondering what other gems never made it to production. Another big week of Sneaker News as we near the end of April (already?), so let’s get to it! On the Jordan Brand side of things, we got a look at an Air Jordan V made for Carmelo Anthony, while several release dates for high-profile shoes like the “Red Toro” IV and “Green Glow” IV were confirmed. The Pure Platinum LeBrons continued to dominate the category, although we did announce some release dates for some Elites. With Kobe sitting out with injury, Nike honored the Black Mamba with an inspirational ad, while some PEs of BHM and Area 72 status from earlier this year emerged. Basketball was huge as the Playoffs took off, with Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and many more whipping out some great PEs for NBA Feet.

Nike SB continued with another strong week as we got a taste of the Brooklyn Projects collab, UNDFTD is continuing the “Bringback” with the Ballistic version of the Hyperdunk, the Roshe Run iD puts on two different Yeezy 2 iD outfits, and Reebok announced a release date for the next Iverson signature shoe comeback. adidas celebrated 30 years of Consortium, and the Basketball category fears up for the debut of the CrazyQuick with John Wall, Damian Lillard, Jrue Holiday, and A$AP Rocky. Asics and New Balance has some nice goodies for us coming soon, while the upcoming Tyler x Vans gets more exciting as we’re given a preview directly from the man himself. Rising prices of kicks was a big topic this week, as were custom shoes with a sick Yeezy-fied Air Jordan IV leading the way.
