Multiple angles of the ‘What The Kobe?’ also raised the excitement on that crazy shoe as well and Nike SB finally hit us with release information for the long-awaited ‘Vino Rosso’ Janoski.

In further Nike news, we got a look at two upcoming Speed Turf Max colorways as well as a first look at the ACG x Air Max hybrid known as the Air Max Sertig. Reebok made one of its biggest splashes in recent memory with the re-release of the Reebok Question, as retailers nationwide have been reporting complete sell-outs of their Question stock. Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 5/12 5/18

It seems like all brands are coming at full force this summer, taking advantage of the school-free zone and whipping out some of the best releases of the year. From Jordan Brand, we already know about the Golden Moments Pack, but another set of AJKO’s are poised to make a return as well. The ‘Gold Medal’ Foamposite is also one to look out for (as are the Silver/Crimson joints), and the upcoming LeBron 9 ‘MVP’ should kick the LeBron fire up a notch. The most talked-about SB Dunk Low over the last year finally released in ‘Nontourage’ form, the Air Yeezy 2 looks poised to release on June 9th, and the Air Penny line continues to go strong with a first clear look at the ‘Phoenix’ Air Penny V. His former ORL running-mate Shaq has been in the news, as Reebok confirmed a release of the Shaq Attaq and Shaqnosis for 2013.

The ‘Rings’ Pack from Asics and Bait brings another bit of Olympic flavor, while some upcoming New Balance releases have the classic-runner game on lock with some great 1500s and 991s. For the skate-friendly style, Vans came through with some notable headlines of the week, while the Air Safari Pack has a confirmed release date in Europe. Jay-Z and Kanye repeated as the top 2 Celebrity Feet features of the week, while Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics came out on top with his Air Jordan VIII PE. Finally, Sneaker News highlighted five awesome Air Max 1 releases of the past, using each night to give a special spotlight to Parra, HUF, Kid Robot, Atmos, and Ben Drury. Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 5/5 5/11

The sneaker world caught on fire when reports leaked out of a considerable hike in prices for upcoming Air Jordan Retros, but Sneaker News brought you an update straight from JB that cleared the air on the matter. Pieces of the LeBron X were revealed this week, with full-length visible Zoom and visible Flywire being the highlight details for LeBron’s first double-digit sig shoe. The ‘What The Kobe’ opened our eyes, as it features a mash of all the wild Kobe VII releases like the Leopard and Dart Frog, while headlines made by the ‘Memphis Blues’ Zoom Rookie hinted at a possible release. The latest of the AF1-XXX Collection revealed itself to be the High-Frequency Digital Camo edition, which features a techy upper graphic laced with reflective panels. Vans had some notable headlines this week, like the fresh ‘Watermelon’ Authentic and the sad news of a sneaker heist in which $10,000 worth of Vans were stolen.

NBA Feet enjoyed a solid week, but the main headline was Blake Griffin’s Hyperdunk Elite, which proved to have a few issues after getting stepped on on-court. Allen Iverson’s name has begun to float around, but a cameo in Swizzy’s latest music video proved that Reebok may have more in store for ‘The Answer’, like the return of the Question in multiple colorways. Some great collaborations are on the way, like Sneaker Freaker’s 10th Anniversary celebration in the form of a Saucony Grid 9000 and two Asics projects with HAL and Woei. Tom Sachs took us up to space with NIKECraft, which features a small capsule of apparel and footwear ready for space travel. Of all the great samples and PEs we showed you, the Metallic Royal Air Jordan XVII was certainly the most eye-catching, as was the unreleased ‘Wizards’ colorway of the Air Jordan XII. Finally, Sneaker News kicked off a string of nightly tributes to the classics, beginning with the Air Foamposite One and some of the forgotten colorways. Check out all of the Sneaker News Weekly Rewind below and stay on top of all the latest sneaker news – that’s what you came for!

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 4/28 5/4

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing, the Olympics are a few months away, and the Summer months are around the corner – things are heating up on Sneaker News! We got a first detailed look at the Air Jordan VII ‘Gold Medal’ of the ‘Gold Medal Pack’ this week, and a new colorway of the Son Of Mars popped up as well. Spike Lee has been an anchor in the Jordan game, but he changed that up by showing off a sick Air Foamposite One PE earlier this week and wore them for Game 3 of the Knicks/Heat series. LeBron, of course, was in town, but we were reminded of another NYC visit from 2007, when he was guest host of SNL. Durant continues his Finals push as he was spotted in a few PEs of his KD IV, but a sample of the KD IV Elite had us wondering why his signature model was excluded from the special edition Elite Series. In other ‘Feet’ sightings, Kim Kardashian, who typically turns heads with her assets and dramatic antics, caught our eyes with the White/Cement III.

The ‘Safari’ is making a healthy comeback this year, and we’re glad it’s getting the attention it deserves because it pre-dates Elephant, Reflective, Patent, Translucent Soles, and almost every other unique design that’s become so heavily popular today. The Air Flight One, which made a return in February, comes back again this October in the Black/White colorway that MJ actually wore for one game during the ’95 Playoffs. Last year’s NBA Champ Dirk Nowitzki had a special Bespoke made for him with a dope ‘Sheed-like stitched logo of his signature fadeaway jumper. Penny showed off yet another Foamposite exclusive – the ‘Galaxy’ rendition of the Zoom Rookie. Two notable collabs to look forward to – High & Lows hit on Asics and Ronnie Fieg’s jump on the New Balance bandwagon. The Air Jordan Samples and PEs category was one of the best we’ve seen, as a tonal red Air Jordan IV and an Air Jordan Penny Hardaway PE topped those headlines. We’ve got a complete look at Sneaker News Weekly Rewind below, so take a look and get caught up in the world of Sneaker News!

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 4/21 4/27

The NBA season has come to an end, but that only marks the beginning of a few things. Nike and Jordan Brand gear up for the Playoffs with the releases of the Elite, while Jordan Brand gave us a look at Playoff colorways of their three signature stars. Sneaker News brought you a first-hand interview with Jason Petrie and Leo Chang, who detailed in full the entire Elite Series mission and concept. Another top story came from the NFL, as the Nike x NFL partnership finally came to sneaker fruition with a special set of footwear releases marking the NFL Draft and the eight divisions of the league. In other sports related news, we gave you a run-down of the best NBA Feet of the year, while handing out awards to the baller/sneakerheads who gave NBA fans a little something extra. LeBron James was definitely popular name in the ‘Best of’ category, but a look at some upcoming Soldier VI releases might have us more excited of what’s to come. Yet another sick KD IV colorway is in books, as the ‘Aunt Pearl’ Think Pink colorway is set for a release in just two weekends from now, and a first viewing of two upcoming colorways of the Lunar Hyperdunk 2012 rounded out Nike Basketball headlines.

Nike SB continues to regain ground with the latest push of solid releases as we got a look at another Zoom Koston collab – this time hooking up with the Air Max 90 Infrared. adidas launched the sequel to the widely popular Crazy Light this week to a special group of media including a first-hand experience of the  event from Sneaker News. Other adidas news came from the Skate division, as team rider Dennis Busenitz shows us that he’s stricken with the Blues. Air Force 1 madness continues in 2012, but this week, we should say it’s more accurately described as Air Force 1 ‘Linsanity’. Ronnie Fieg’s latest Asics collaboration officially dropped, and release info for the Packer Shoes x Saucony Grid 9000 was worth jotting down in your memory. We brought you a look at some more Air Jordan goodies from the interwebs, like the DMP ‘Eyelet’ sample and a pair of OGs manufactured in Italy. The most enthralling news came when Nikestore canceled midnight online releases, which looks to be just the beginning of Nike’s attempts to revise the entire horizon of sneaker releases for the future. We’ve got all the top stories below, so check out the rest of Sneaker News Weekly Rewind below!

As we get closer to the 2012 Olympics, the special releases put forth by Nike and Jordan Brand are beginning to leak out, and the small tastes we’ve been getting are only expanding our appetites! We got another clear look at the Air Jordan Gold Medal Pack while NSW’s Air Force 1 and Dunk releases placed the USA/Barcelona connection in ’92 in the spotlight with the special tongue labels and colorways. In LeBron news, we got a first look at the Vivid Orange/Cherry colorway dubbed the ‘Bubblicious’ – a reference to LeBron’s ‘Lightning Lemonade’ flavor. A new military-inspired colorway of the KD IV raised a few eyebrows, while the Cheetah-inspired Kobe VII gave us goosebumps with the fierce design. We got a good look at some upcoming colorways of Nike Retro releases like the Air Max Pillar and Diamond Turf II, while Premier Skateshop pulled out all the stops for the releases of its Nike SB collaboration.

The Air Force 1 celebration continued as we got a look at the next AF1-XXX release, and HTM worked on a second collection of FlyKnit releases that debuted on Wednesday. Some more of the finer details of the Air Yeezy 2 were unveiled, like the official box-tag, insoles, and the screw-off lace-tips on the lacebag. In NBA news, LeBron James broke out two new LeBron takedown models on consecutive nights, while celebrities made their own headlines as Rick Ross gave some personal notes on his past and his rise to the Reebok partnership and Lil’ Wayne broadcasted his partnership with Supra. Ewing Athletics confirmed the return of its most popular OG design and New Balance introduced the next release of its Tall Tales Pack. The Sneaker News headline that stirred up the most discussion was Nike’s new Twitter RSVP system, which aimed at protecting consumers and retailers while eliminating campouts/wristbands in the process. Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 4/7 4/13

Air Jordan news always makes headlines, but the top stories of this cycle easily go to Spike Lee, as his Spiz’ike and Son Of Mars made the most eye-catching headlines (think Nike iD and ‘Bordeaux’). The Air Foamposite continues to be a popular discussion topic as Gentry Humphrey confirms four Foamposite releases for 2012, which we followed up with news of the I-95 Posite Max and Air Max Hyperposite. Let’s transition from ‘Posite’ to ‘Penny’, because we got a great look at the upcoming ‘Miami’ Penny V on the feet of Wale. Now going from ‘Miami’ to ‘LeBron’, the Bumblebee/Bruce Lee/Taxi LeBron 9 Elite buzz carried over from the week before, while a detailed look at the Nike N7 colorways of the KD IV had people excited yet again.

In Retro news, the Air Force 1 ‘Camo’ was revealed to be NSW’s next big Air Force 1 release, while confirmation of a Air Trainer 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ retro made OG-fanatics crack a smile. Missoni and Converse hook up yet again for a fifth overall Chuck Taylor go-around, while a detailed look at the 24 Kilates x Asics Gel Saga makes the case for ‘best Asics collaboration of the year’ so far. Reebok made some headway with the return of the DMX 10 Run, while the super-limited John Wall PE dubbed ‘Beyond The Gold’ released this week at Packer Shoes. One of our favorite categories known as the Air Jordan OG/PE/Sample grouping, we caught a look at an unreleased UNDFTD x Air Jordan IV sample and perhaps the first B-Grade Air Jordan in history. More to review below, so check out this week’s Weekly Rewind to be on top of the latest in the sneaker game.
