Another busy week in sneakers fell on our laps as we approach the final week of October – inching ever so closer to the big Black Friday and Christmas releases. In Jordan news, a great event at the Nike Vault highlighted Chris Paul’s personal Air Jordan collection. On the other coast, the LeBron news was on point as always, as an official unveiling of the “Forging Iron” and some detailed shots of the “Carbon Fiber” and “Miami vs. Akron” gave us a better idea of the upcoming releases. Nike unveiled the “Away” rendition of the KD 6, while NIKEiD opened up a simple yet effection option for the Kobe 8. Foams were a hit as always thanks to the release date on the Safari joints, while NSW kept itself in the loop with the Pendleton collaboration in the N7 capsule and the Penny Hardaway AF1s. More Country Camo Air Max joints revealed themselves, while a big Nike SB collab finally released.

Celebs and the NBA were a big headline yet again thanks to Cam’ron’s appearance in some upcoming ‘Boks and Demar DeRozan rocking some unreleased Jordan Retros. Ewing’s got a great line-up for November, as does Reebok, with a few collaborative releases on the way. adidas unveiled one of the best D Rose colorways ever – a “Boardwalk” edition that celebrates Rose’s triumphant comeback and the arduous rehab that he went through in Southern California. New Balance unexpectedly dropped some Made in USA 576s, while Vans and UBIQ showed us their collaboration inspired by a Japanese tattoo shop. Sneaker News Select came through again with a look at a sick Air Force 1 collection and more, while custom kicks were again a big topic of chat. weekly rewind 10 18 Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 10/12 10/18

The Sneaker News team doesn’t want you to feel left behind in any category of the current footwear world. Which means we’re back again giving you a run down of the more notable stories that popped up in the past seven days. The NBA pre-season games continue to be a source of interest, with Carmelo Anthony creating perhaps the most interesting story lately from there with his Jordan Melo 1.5 wear. Of course Nike Basketball’s Big Three are making plenty of noise with their shoes as well-LeBron’s eleventh came through with a scorching Forged Iron colorway, the Kobe 8 promised us a “What the Kobe” release, and Kevin Durant showed off his “Wheat” joints. Other new fangled footwear outside of the Swoosh realm included the likes of Reebok’s Q96 and Pumpspective Omni pairs, each of them remixing some classics from their back catalog.

Speaking of classics, the wide ranging retro category had plenty to talk about this week. The Nike Air Max 1 for example certainly surprised us thanks to that elemental “Liquid Metal” pack of sneakers that looks to be a WMNS exclusive. Other inline bangers included Asics’ “Christmas Pack” set that we thankfully got up close and personal with this week. The Ewing 33 Hi popped up again with a sizzurp looking purple suede combination, Sneaker Freaker flexed their blocking powers on an adidas rarity, and Bodega became the latest team to touch up the Reebok Classic Leather. And we wouldn’t exactly call it a retro given that the original released just last year, but Kim Kardashian came through and teased us a little bit with another peek at those “Red October” Yeezy 2s. Stay with us after the break for a run-down of all these Sneaker News stories and more in the latest episode of Weekly Rewind.

The Holiday 2013 sneaker season is in full effect, and this week’s news gave us a strong indication that these three months will be huge. We saw two brand new Foamposite colorways, a variant colorway of the Air Jordan 3Lab5, and two new LeBron 11 colorways that we’ve never seen. Nike Running made two huge leaps with the introduction of the Air Max+ 2014 and the Flyknit Air Max. Jordan Brand unveiled a series of Air Jordan 12 PEs for its NFL athletes, and Nike Sportswear introduces the “Monotones Pack”, which can be viewed as a throwback to the original “One’s Pack” from the early 2000′s. A “What The” version of the Kobe 8 came to light, while a first look at the “Wheat” Nike KD 6 gave the shoe an interesting lifestyle-esque POV.

The NBA season is ready to go, and we provided some nice pre-season recaps of the best sneaker heat. adidas rose to the occasion with a sick collaboration with mita sneakers, while New Balance wowed us with the dope navy/burgundy combo known as the Blue Tab Pack. Vans continued its impressive approach to season-specific footwear, but Reebok takes the cake with the “For Players Only Pack” of Reebok Questions, which surely will ruffle the feathers of its rival brands. Sneaker News Select provided some awesome stories as well, led by a deep look into the sneaker collection of Franalations. There’s plenty more to see in Sneaker News Weekly Rewind, so enjoy it in full below to get caught up with the best sneaker news source on the planet.

weekly rewind 10 4 Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 9/28 10/4

October is here to stay. So is your favorite feed of daily Sneaker News. So is your week-ending recap of all the most pertinent shoe stories that popped up since we last did this dance. You ready? Nike finally pulled the veil off of their 2013 Doernbecher collection, an exciting group featuring Foamposites, Jordans, and more. We took you back into the realm of the Jordan Brand preview with a look at a strange “Nike Air” sporting Jordan III sample. China made us jealous with their launch of the LeBron 11, something we’ve still gotta wait another week for. Supreme’s latest collab with Nike touched down, selling out in an instant despite their rule-breaking non-SB nature (Oh and don’t forget the full rundown we gave you on the history between those two entities). Concepts cooked up another New Balance 998, this one exclusive to their Boston shop, and Sneaker News showed you more angles of the shoe than anyone else on the web.

Some of Vans’ classics disappeared thanks to a digi camo application, while others stood out with their Bruce Lee tribute. The Nike Roshe Run showed us what it’s got going on in 2014, hint: it doesn’t involve laces. Custom creators used pigeons, planes, Pablo Escobar, and more for inspiration. Extra Butter let the snake cat out of the bag on their Asics collab, one that will apparently be launching at a brand new Manhattan location for the shop. Reebok threw a glow in the dark application on their Kamikaze II, meanwhile adidas got in touch with Size? to light up some of their classic runners. Get with us after the click for a full rundown on each of these items and don’t forget to tune in next week should you miss any of up to date headlings on the goings on in the sneakerhead world.

If you couldn’t keep up with our constant news items this week then fear not-our Weekly Rewind piece is back again to fill you in on what you missed. Michael Jordan’s footwear loomed large over the week in a couple of different ways. Sneaker News was invited to check out the Jordan Brand retail preview, an experience that we brought to you. An what an experience it was-there was that brand new Air Jordan 10 colorway, the whole “Bel Air” collection, some juicy performance designs like the Jordan Melo M10 and the Air Jordan XX8 SE, and more. Outside of that some tantalizing catalog scans reminded us of what’s to come in 2014-the Air Jordan 6 “White/Infrared” and the Air Jordan 10 “Powder Blue” for instance. The on-feet scene was cause for debate too thanks to both Miley Cyrus and Hulk Hogan showing their affection for that footwear.

Don’t worry, we also served up all the non-MJ news that was fit to print. That included an exclusive preview of the Nike LeBron 11 iD, a teaser of yet another “Oregon” pair of Nikes, and a look at a light up/3M Nike Dunk for the Doernbecher program. Adidas promised us The Return of Derrick Rose, one that will feature the adidas D Rose 4 on feet. They also showed off an interesting birthday gift for that man-an adidas Originals release featuring his likeness. Elsewhere Asics collabs remained hot-whether it be the Russian born FOTT pair or BAIT’s “Phantom Lagoons” that we discussed with their creator. Jun Takahashi showed off his new Gyakusou range, Shaq tried to escape from LA, and the Saucony Shadow 5000 got touched up by two sneaker project veterans. Stay with Sneaker News after the break for all these stories in our latest Weekly Rewind episode and remember that we’ll see you here next week for the same.

The back to school season is one that’s never been slow in the footwear realm. Fortunately, your favorite feed of that sort has never been slow either. So in case you missed the rapid headlines hitting here at Sneaker News this past week, buckle in for a second while we give you the gist. The Air Jordan 1 met the Air Jordan XI “Concord” and the result is coming in just a couple of weeks. Speaking of October releases, there are more LeBron 11s than you think thanks to the upcoming debut of his lifestyle shoe. Kevin Durant had something to say about that-firing back with a preview of his own. Still no site of the Kobe 9 but the Kobe 8 continues to be interesting. Gentry Humphrey flaunted one of his Foamposite creations in China and Chris Paul proved the power of a Jordan Brand connect. More interested in runners? Good news-HTM is back to work with the Flyknit technology, Size? is bringing back an Air Max gem, and Reebok’s got plenty more Classic Leathers coming.

Run DMC’s adidas can be your adidas-no shoe strings in em. Or you could go the Harlem route and grab A$AP Rocky’s new project ahead of the release date. New Balance collabs keep up their steady pace as Tannery and Engineered Projects showed us what they were working on this week. Asics has also been busy with the partnerships-you definitely want to get a look at what the likes of Extra Butter and BAIT have whipped up. But who needs collabs when you can build your own sneakers and colorways? Just ask custom names like The Shoe Surgeon and Mache whose works were featured this week.
