Spaced out basketball sneakers are cool and all but artist Tom Sachs has taken the idea of out of this world Swoosh products to the next level, leverage his NASA obsessed aesthetic to create the NikeCRAFT collection. The quick capsule looks at Nike gear through the functional lens of astronautical wear, outfitting jackets, bags, and least of all the hybrid Mars Yard sneaker. The project launched in NYC yesterday at Sachs’ Space Program: MARS exhibition, taking place in the massive Park Avenue Armory which was transformed into an eerie portrait of the artist’s space age fantasies. Stay with us after the jump for the full photo recap of this unique team up between Tom Sachs and Nike, and be sure to check out the exhibit at the Park Avenue Armory if you’re in NYC.

The Dream Team will celebrate 20 years this Fall 2012 season, so get ready for Nike’s tribute to the most treasured U.S. Olympic team of all-time! With a concentration on footwear, Nike Sportswear will bring back a set of Olympic-inspired sneakers that were worn during the Games, like the Air Force 180 worn by Sir Charles Barkley. These have been re-issued a few times before (as well in the Auto Force 180 form in 2009), but it’s time for a fresh new stock because new pairs are dwindling by the number. You won’t have to wait too long though, because European retailers are reporting stock to arrive on July 2nd, and you can expect a similar ETA for U.S. stocklists (but we’ll keep you updated on a firm release when it becomes available). With so many Olympic-themed kicks on the way, where does this Air Force 180 classic rank on your list of must-haves for the season?
Sneaker News just showed you a raging red colorway that’s coming up soon and now here comes the other Nike Zoom Solider 6 colorup we’d previewed in Monday’s first look. The Zoom Soldier VI looks so good in this combination of silver, black and blue that, judging by the earliest comments, might have those traditionally inclined to the Nike LeBron flagship series, to consider adding these to your rotation as well. They’ve got performance advantages from a Hyperfuse upper, Zoom Air-cushioned sole and the Soldier series’ signature robust ankle lockdown system, and you can see more details when you click on the jump below.
Updates regarding the Air Yeezy 2 release always seem to report a change, but just yesterday, Sneaker News provided you with a simple reminder that Air Yeezy 2 launch is still on schedule for June 9th in Australia. Production numbers are very limited (the entire continent of Australia is getting just 60 pairs total) so you can guess just how crazy the release will be (Nike’s nixing of camp-outs and midnight releases should definitely soothe the tension). While we’ve yet to see detailed images of the Black/Solar Red colorway straight from Nike, these continue to be spotted on the feet of some of Kanye’s and Nike’s VVIP (the extra V is intended); here we get a close-up On-Feet look at the Black/Solar Red joints from Jerry Lorenzo and you can clearly see the amount of detail that was packed into this sensitive project. More shots below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates on the Air Yeezy 2.

Tom Sachs’ NIKECraft is currently up for viewing at the Park Ave Armory in the Upper East Side in NYC, so if you do plan on attending (it runs through June 17th), keep an eye out for this special Cole Haan x Nike wingtip dress shoe worn by the NIKECraft crew. While wingtip shoes aren’t all that new to fashion, this particular pair features a Swoosh on the upper, with the classic wingtip dots along the border, as well as a Nike tag on the tongue Peep the outsole and you’ll see Waffle-like traction on the forefoot and heel as well. Definitely one of the coolest projects we’ve seen, so take a look at the extra images below and be sure to check out the Tom Sachs’ NIKECraft exhibit before it closes!
Early Jordan Super Fly previews have managed to impress JB’s notoriously demanding fanbase in a way that we’ve seen only a select few non-Air Jordan models. So far, we’ve seen colorways ranging from basic TB-leaning designs to the more energetic and detail-packed ‘RTTG’ editions, and now comes this new pair with a resemblance to one of the first colorways from this year’s flagship. These grey and Volt Super Flys follow the ‘Wolf Grey’ Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe with a unique blend of neutral and nothing-else-is-in-the-room. They’re not exactly a perfect match for any major professional or collegiate team uniforms, but these are certain to turn heads this summer, and you can see more images below.
When you first take a look at this new Nike SB Dunk Low do any particular colorways from the SB heritage come to mind? The community seems a bit split on that, with some calling to the similar blocking to the ‘J-Pack’ Dunks of old and others seeing more in common with the ‘Tiffany’ strictly in terms of colors used. Either way, one thing that we should be able to come to a consensus on is that they are quite the summer sneaker, a potent pair thanks to the simple two-tone look on top that relies on an accenting shade from the Nike SB range that is just starting to make moves.
