Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Scoring Title’

At the end of the 2012 NBA Season, Kevin Durant joined one of the most exclusive clubs in the league’s history – the NBA Scoring Title ‘Three-peat’ crew. Nike is celebrating this landmark of KD’s career with the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Scoring Title’ PE, which features an ‘Entourage’-like Yellow/Blue colorway with a unique graphic on the upper and interior lining. The tongue features a triplet basketball/hoop logo with his scoring averages of the past three seasons with a nautical compass on the heel (perhaps a tribute to his start in Seattle). Spike Lee’s made quite the impression on the sneaker game, hasn’t he? While his tenure as an Air Jordan spokesperson was short-lived in comparison to the entire span of the Air Jordan, he made his mark in (arguably) the best stretch of releases – the Air Jordan III-VI – while making a comeback with the Air Jordan XX. The Son Of Mars is a tribute of sorts, encapsulating those five models in a finely-tuned hybrid model, and it finally arrives in a classic Bulls colorway after initially releasing in ‘Pop Art‘ and ‘Club Purple‘, Best Son Of Mars colorway yet? Nike Zoom Kobe VII iD ‘Poison Dart Frog’ – Samples

Nike Basketball didn’t make any outright predictions about the way this lockout-shortened NBA season’s playoffs would turn out, but even putting memories of MVPuppets aside, we can’t help but notice that these new Nike Zoom Kobe VII iDs do indeed form a ‘final four’ with direct correspondence to teams active in this year’s postseason. A black-soled take on the Lakers-colored edition Kobe himself wore in the first round matchup against Denver represents Showtime, but an orange and blue pair with black and white accents could prove a suitable match for the New York Knicks or even the Laker-vanquishing Oklahoma City Thunder. Bulls and Spurs round out this set that might have gotten the West Finals right without even trying, and you can see more photos of all four of these sample designs before you head to NIKEiD to create your own ‘Poison Dart Frog’ Zoom Kobe 7 iD.

Nike Eric Koston – Black – Gum

Eric Koston’s Nike SB signature sneaker just arrived at retailers last month with a white upper and gum bottom, so while simply swapping to black would make for an equally satisfying design, the Swoosh would rather provide a bit more variety. So instead of this just coming off as the yang to that pair’s yin, this new Nike Zoom Koston 1 subtracts the ‘SB’ branding but adds details like a granite finish Swoosh and speckled outsole toe for a finished product that’s as close to ‘black cement’ as you can get without including Elephant print. Supra Vaider ‘Fade’

Gradient designs have been all the rage in recent years as production methods have advanced beyond the point where colorblocking is constrained by layers of leather and suede. A look that has roots in 2008′s Nike Dunk High ‘Destroyer’ pack has evolved to the point where a model like the Zoom Kobe VII wouldn’t be the same without a gradient on its synthetic shell. The above pictured Supra Vaider Mid in ripstop canvas can’t quite match the detail on a model like the ZK7, but the black-to-white fade is embodied by a succession of progressively darker shades front to back, and select pink accents add a nice pop to this otherwise neutral colorup. 430 BMX Connection x Vans Japan

We’re seeing a huge influx of red, white and blue sneakers for the Olympic summer, designs referencing both the United States and its past glories, as well as those designs inspired by this year’s host nation. The first from Off the Wall is this 430 BMX x Vans Japan capsule leaning more on the latter side, a couple of Far East action sports concerns coming together to craft a trio of London-flavored red-and-white-accented navy blue silos. The Vans Sk8-Mid, Chukka Low and what’s likely a San Lucas slide have been blocked identically and each feature 430 branding on the footbed; do any of these stand out enough to warrant importing them upon next month’s release? via Unbar
